Fri Feb 22 201301:45Billups has a quiet game on Thursday
Chauncey Billups played 17 minutes in a loss to the Spurs on Thursday with six points, no boards, two assists and no steals.
He's going to have duds like these since he's not getting minutes on a regular basis. It's laughable that Billups is owned in more leagues than guys like Jeff Green, Moe Harkless and Andrew Nicholson combined.

Fri Feb 15 201301:29Chauncey Billups puts up 21 points vs. LAL
Chauncey Billups scored 21 points against the Lakers with three rebounds, three assists, four steals and five 3-pointers on Thursday.
Before you go run to pick him up based on this game and the 19-point outing on Wednesday, Billups did his damage in just 16 minutes Thursday. He was left open for most of the game and is certainly heating up. He won't be playing more than 22 minutes per game while the Clippers are healthy, so standard league owners should be able to do better.

Thu Feb 14 201301:25Chauncey Billups scores 19 in return
Chauncey Billups returned from a back injury and started for the Clippers, finishing with season highs of 19 and four 3-pointers, along with one rebound and two assists on 6-of-9 shooting Wednesday.
He missed his previous game with a bad back and had scored a total of 15 points in his two games since returning from a foot injury, so we were surprised by this one. He's played in just five games this season, and while owners of Jamal Crawford should take notice, we doubt Billups plays this well consistently. Just keep an eye on him in case this becomes the norm instead of a fluke, but he will likely have trouble staying healthy the rest of the way.

Wed Feb 13 201322:19Chauncey Billups back in the lineup Wednesday
Chauncey Billups (back) will start against the Rockets on Wednesday.
After returning from a foot issue, Billups played just two games before needing to sit out for his back. He's just too old and the Clippers are too deep to even think about picking him up in the vast majority of formats.

Tue Feb 12 201308:46Chauncey Billups hoping to play on Wednesday
Chauncey Billups (back) is hopeful he'll be able to play on Wednesday against the Rockets.
"I thought I was fine most of the day," Billups said. "But I got here and it just wasn't right." The Clippers anticipated easing Billups back into action, so we can't say we're surprised. He should be able to return on Wednesday, but the Clippers will not push him.

Mon Feb 11 201319:15Billups out on Monday vs. Sixers
Chauncey Billups (back) did not play on Monday against the Sixers.
It makes sense that the Clippers will ease Billups back into the swing of things with the All Star break right around the corner. With Caron Butler also out, look for Jamal Crawford and Matt Barnes to play plenty of minutes. Willie Green will get the nominal starting nod.

Sat Feb 9 201301:12Chauncey Billups scores seven in return
Chauncey Billups returned from a foot injury on Friday and had seven points, one board, four assists and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes vs. Miami.
It was his first action since December 3 and just his fourth game all year. While Billups doesn't have many holes in his fantasy game besides field goal percentage, he simply won't get enough minutes to matter in most leagues given his age and the depth of the Clippers.

Fri Feb 8 201318:55Chauncey Billups will return Friday
Chauncey Billups (foot) will play in Friday's game against the Heat.
Not only will Billups play for the first time since Dec. 3, but he'll start. Given his age (36), fragile medical state and the depth of the Clippers, we wouldn't have high hopes. Note that Billups hasn't topped 21 minutes in any of the three games he played this season.

Billups has been out with a foot injury since initially returning from his ruptured Achilles, and even if he doesn't play Friday, he's very close to finally returning. When he is back, Willie Green should move back to the end of the bench.

Chauncey Billups (foot) will not play in Sunday's matinee vs. the Celtics but he hopes to return "sometime next week."
Billups has been targeting a return during the Clips' east-coast roadtrip, which continues with games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. His return will shore up the Clippers' backcourt but he's unlikely to play enough minutes to alter the fantasy landscape.

Sat Feb 2 201309:58Chauncey Billups aims to return on road trip
Chauncey Billups is aiming to return from his foot injury on the current Clippers road trip.
Billups is expected to practice on Saturday and is "inching" toward a return, and although he hopes to play on the road trip, he still no has timetable or target date for his return. He hasn't played since December 3, and has only played in three games this season. Owners in standard formats can do better when looking for help on the wire.

Chauncey Billups (foot) is progressing, but he will not play on Friday.
It's not a huge surprise as Billups remains out with his injury. He's working toward coming back, but the Clippers have absolutely zero incentive to rush him at any point along the way in his recovery.

Wed Jan 30 201319:12Chauncey Billups won't play Wednesday night
Chauncey Billups (foot) will not play Wednesday night against the Timberwolves.
Billups took contact during Wednesday's practice but appears to still be a little ways away from returning to the lineup. Even when he does return, owners shouldn't expect much of anything given his age, injury history and limited minutes.

Tue Jan 29 201316:09Chauncey Billups taking contact
Chauncey Billups (foot) took contact at Tuesday's practice.
Billups has a chance to return at some point on the Clippers' eight-game road trip that starts Wednesday. But given his age and recent injury history, we can't expect anything more than 20 minutes for quite some time. Billups has managed to play in just three games all season.

Billups had a "really good workout" on Sunday, and with no timetable for his return, the expectation is that the Clippers will let Billups take his time before allowing him to return. Willie Green will continue to hold down Billups' spot in the starting five.

Chauncey Billups (foot) played 3-on-3 on Thursday, but there is still no timetable for his return.
Billups is believed to be progressing as he said that he's "feeling better all the time," but the team isn't ready to put a target date on his return just yet. "I'm not ready to get out there and play five-on-five and be in a real game yet," Billups said. Willie Green will continue to start for the Clippers, but he is not a fantasy option.

Mon Jan 21 201309:36Chauncey Billups to start doing 3-on-3 work
Chauncey Billups (foot) will begin doing 3-on-3 work this week.
Vinny Del Negro will see how Billups responds before progressing with his rehab, but Billups is getting "a lot of therapy" and is said to be improving. The team won't rush him back, but when he is ready to return, expect him to take his spot in the lineup back from Willie Green.

Sun Jan 20 201310:01Billups (Achilles) still without return date
Chauncey Billups (Achilles) has begun 3-on-3 work but there is still no clear date for his return.
"He's getting a lot of therapy and he said it's feeling a lot better," said Del Negro. "Then we'll see how he reacts and I'll have a better feel for his return." Billups is more likely to disrupt other players' roles than to offer any stand-alone value this season.
