Sat Jan 12 201311:54Billups could start conditioning next week
Chauncey Billups (foot) could begin doing conditioning work early next week, according to coach Vinny Del Negro.
While that's good news, Del Negro was also very careful to say that Billups is not close to return and remains behind teammate Grant Hill (knee) in terms of recovery. Owners shouldn't be waiting around for either, particularly Billups, who will struggle to carve out a legitimate fantasy role even when healthy.

Tue Jan 8 201313:38Chauncey Billups could be back by end of Jan
Chauncey Billups (foot) could be back by the end of January.
A report on Monday suggested Billups was not going to return any time soon, but ESPN LA reports that the veteran is making progress and could return to practice in the near future. He's a long shot to carve out consistent fantasy value with the Clippers depth and the fact that the team will handle his minutes conservatively.

Mon Jan 7 201309:46Chauncey Billups not expected back soon
Chauncey Billups, who has tendinitis in his left foot, is "not expected back soon."
Billups returned briefly from his torn Achilles this season, but he's been sidelined since and doesn't appear rushing his return at all. The Clippers are rolling and Billups has been active on the sidelines alongside Vinny Del Negro, providing guidance and leadership from the sidelines.

Fri Jan 4 201321:23Billups will begin practice on Saturday
Chauncey Billups (foot) will begin working out on Saturday.
He's been bothered by a foot injury all season and it's unclear how much more playing time he will miss. Billups is still out indefinitely and even owners in deeper leagues shouldn't worry about stashing him since he won't see that many minutes even once he's healthy.

Wed Jan 2 201309:05Chauncey Billups (foot) behind Grant Hill
Chauncey Billups (foot) is behind Grant Hill (knee) in his recovery.
Hill is targeting a debut "sometime in January," so we're comfortable calling Billups out indefinitely. Mr. Big Shot won't be rushed back, either. "We're just trying to give him as much time as he needs and be smart about it," Vinny Del Negro said. Willie Green, Jamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe will fill the void.

Fri Dec 28 201208:21Del Negro: Chauncey Billups without timetable
Vinny Del Negro said that "nobody knows" when Chauncey Billups (foot) will return.
Billups has been without a timetable since he went back on the injured list, and while it was reported in early December that he'd miss two weeks, the veteran will clearly miss way more time than that. With the depth that the Clippers have and the way the team is playing, there is no reason to rush him back before he's 100 percent healthy.

Thu Dec 20 201208:40Chauncey Billups (foot) without timetable
Chauncey Billups (foot) is without a timetable to return.
Billups returned from his Achilles injury earlier than expected, but now he's sidelined with peroneal tendinitis in his left foot. "I'm not really practicing on the court yet," he said. "I'm just trying to let the inflammation go down." While he's out, Willie Green will likely continue to start with Eric Bledsoe and Jamal Crawford playing most of the minutes at SG.

Sat Dec 8 201214:57Chauncey Billups will not play Saturday
Chauncey Billups (foot) will not play against the Suns on Saturday.
Billups is expected to be out for two weeks due to tendinitis in his left foot. The issue isn't related to his surgically-repaired Achilles, but he won't offer enough upside to be a player to stash in the majority of formats. Willie Green will start while Eric Bledsoe and Jamal Crawford will do most of the heavy lifting.

Thu Dec 6 201209:01Chauncey Billups (foot) likely out two weeks
Chauncey Billups (foot) will likely be out for about two weeks.
Although Billups' foot injury is not related to his Achilles injury, Mr. Big Shot is suffering from "peroneal tendinitis in his left foot." The Clippers are not putting a timetable on Billups' return, an indication that he could be out for longer than two weeks. With Billups again sidelined, Willie Green will likely start with Eric Bledsoe, Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford picking up more time as well.

Wed Dec 5 201221:16Chauncey Billups (foot) out on Wednesday
Chauncey Billups (foot) will not play against the Mavericks on Wednesday with a sore left foot.
Billups was coming off a 22-minute outing on Monday and there's no details just yet on whether or not this has anything to do with his surgically-repaired left Achilles tendon. The deep backcourt rotation of the Clippers should be able to absorb this loss and Billups' age makes him a shaky player to own in standard leagues.

Tue Dec 4 201202:09Billups scores nine points in 22 minutes
Chauncey Billups scored nine points on 2-of-5 shooting (1-of-2 3PTs, 4-of-5 FTs) with one rebound and one assist in 22 minutes on Monday against the Jazz.
This is how it could look on most nights, and either way Billups' value is capped by the logjam in the Clippers' backcourt.

Fri Nov 30 201223:16Chauncey Billups dealing with a sore back
Chauncey Billups said his back was sore following his Wednesday debut.
"I'm not myself, I know that. But I felt pretty good, to be honest with you. I think the little issue that I had with my back is what has me sore now," Billups said. The 36-year-old guard played 19 minutes on Wednesday and we wouldn't expect him to touch the 30 minutes per game he had last year with the added depth in the backcourt.

Thu Nov 29 201209:17Billups admits it'll take time to regain form
Chauncey Billups admitted after Wednesday's win that it's going to take time for him to round back into form, but also said that he feels "good" after returning.
"I'm not what I was the day I got hurt," he admitted. "I got back pretty far ahead of schedule." Billups also said it would be "months" rather than weeks until he gets to where he wants to be, and the Clippers will ease him in as he continues to play this year. Owners can watch him carefully, but he's not someone you have to grab off the waiver wire just yet. There are a lot of mouths to feed in the Clippers backcourt.

Thu Nov 29 201202:33Chauncey Billups scores seven in return
Chauncey Billups made his season debut on Wednesday, hitting 1-of-5 shots for seven points, three assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in 19 minutes.
Billups, who is coming off a serious Achilles injury, looked good on the court and his one make came early in the game to a rousing ovation. He's worth keeping a close eye on, but the 36-year-old is not a must-own player just yet, as the Clippers have too many other weapons at their disposal. But if Billups is still healthy a month from now, there's a decent chance he could be putting up much better numbers than he did tonight. Welcome back, Mr. Big Shot.

Wed Nov 28 201214:59Report: Chauncey Billups to debut Wednesday
Chauncey Billups (Achilles) will return to the lineup and start at SG on Wednesday against the Wolves, a source tells Yahoo! Sports.
Billups had been practicing at full speed with the Clippers and a return was deemed imminent. Mr. Big Shot will take over for Willie Green at SG and with Jamal Crawford cooling off, he could be a decent addition if you have room and keep your expectations for the 36-year old in check. Crawford owners will likely want to monitor whether Billups' return affects Crawford's minutes.

Tue Nov 27 201222:20Chauncey Billups nearing return to Clips
Chauncey Billups has been scrimmaging at full speed with the Clippers and is expected to return sooner than later for the Clippers.
He's also expected to take over for Willie Green as the team's starting shooting guard once he's back. Sixth man Jamal Crawford has cooled off lately and Billups reportedly looks good in practice, so picking him up if you have a player you want to drop makes sense. Just keep in mind that he's 36 years old and coming off a very tough injury. As for Crawford, we'll just have to wait and see what kind of impact Billups has on him, but it could be a negative one is Billups comes as advertised.

Tue Nov 27 201209:45Chauncey Billups expected to practice Tuesday
Chauncey Billups (Achilles) is expected to practice with his teammates on Tuesday.
"He'll be ready when he says he's ready to go," Vinny Del Negro said. Billups has been targeting a December return, so it makes sense that he'd be eyeing a return to practice right around now. Although it sounds like he's closer to returning, Billups still isn't worth a roster stash in standard formats.

Fri Nov 23 201223:58Billups hoping to return in December
Chauncey Billups (Achilles) is hoping to return in December.
The Clippers are loaded in the backcourt with Eric Bledsoe among the league leaders in usage rate while Jamal Crawford has turned out to be one of the better offseason moves. Billups isn't really worth stashing in standard leagues until he's able to show us something.
