Fri Mar 29 201319:10Chauncey Billups (groin) out on Friday
Chauncey Billups (groin) will not play against the Spurs on Friday.
This is the opposite of a surprise and Billups is likely going to need some more time off after aggravating his groin injury on Wednesday night. The Clippers are on a Texas back-to-back and will take on the Rockets on Saturday and the 36-year-old is likely to be out.

Fri Mar 29 201309:23Chauncey Billups listed as doubtful Friday
Chauncey Billups (groin) is listed as doubtful for Friday against the Spurs.
It's not a surprise after he aggravated his groin injury on Wednesday. With Billups very unlikely to play, Willie Green should start at shooting guard with Jamal Crawford, Eric Bledsoe and possibly Matt Barnes all seeing a boost in minutes off the bench.

Thu Mar 28 201308:00'Not looking good' for Chauncey Billups
Things are "not looking good" for Chauncey Billups after aggravating his groin injury on Wednesday.
The Clippers have an optional practice on Thursday followed by a tough back-to-back set against the Spurs and Rockets on Friday and Saturday, so it's possible Billups is out for both of those games. If he does sit, Willie Green should return to the starting lineup with Jamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe seeing a boost in minutes.

Wed Mar 27 201321:40Billups aggravates groin, now out for game
Chauncey Billups aggravated his groin injury on Wednesday and is out for the night against the Hornets.
He played 13 minutes in the starting role and one would think that Billups is going to need some extra rest. There's no reason to own him in any league at this point. Billups did score 11 points and made three 3-pointers, which is 11 points and three 3-pointers more than Brandon Jennings had tonight.

Wed Mar 27 201318:52Chauncey Billups will play in a limited role
Chauncey Billups (groin) will play Wednesday but will only be available for limited minutes.
Coach Vinny Del Negro said he'll cap Billups' minutes in the low 20s. The limited run and role further compromise whatever value Billups had in deeper leagues. You can safely ignore him in most formats.

Tue Mar 26 201316:46Chauncey Billups a game-time call Tuesday
Chauncey Billups (groin) is listed as a game-time call for Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks.
Billups has already missed two straight games due to his strained right groin. With the Clippers facing a back-to-back and four games in five nights, he's going to have to be eased back in. Willie Green projects to fill Billups' 19.4 minutes per game.

Sat Mar 23 201321:16Billups (groin) out again on Saturday
Chauncey Billups (groin) will not play on Saturday, but Eric Bledsoe (calf) and Ronny Turiaf (knee) will both be available off L.A.'s bench.
Billups could return vs. the Mavs on Tuesday, but he and Bledsoe are best suited for deep leagues in their current roles. Willie Green will start at SG in Billups' absence.

Fri Mar 22 201316:06Billups (hamstring) practices but no contact
Chauncey Billups (hamstring) practiced on Friday but did not take any contact.
Billups will be preserved for the playoffs and at this stage owners shouldn't get too concerned about his return to the rotation. Even if he can stay on the floor, his ceiling is at about 20 minutes per game.

Wed Mar 20 201321:11Billups, Bledsoe out for Clippers vs. Sixers
Chauncey Billups (hamstring) and Eric Bledsoe (calf) will not play on Wednesday night against the Sixers.
Billups left early last night with what was originally deemed a groin injury, but it sounds like it could be hamstring instead. And Bledsoe has been out for several games with the calf injury. Willie Green will draw a start, while Maalik Wayns will likely see some run behind Chris Paul.

Wed Mar 20 201307:36Chauncey Billups suffers groin injury Tuesday
Chauncey Billups suffered a groin injury during the first quarter of Tuesday's game and did not return.
Billups is someone who could go down with an injury at any point, so we can't say we're entirely surprised. He played just under seven and a half minutes before departing for the night. With Eric Bledsoe still battling a calf injury, Chris Paul logged 44 minutes while Jamal Crawford got 35.5 and Matt Barnes saw just under 32 minutes. If Billups is forced to miss more time, Willie Green would likely slide into the starting lineup again with Bledsoe, Crawford and Barnes seeing more time off the bench.

Tue Mar 19 201307:58Chauncey Billups would love to play more PG
Chauncey Billups admitted that he'd love to play more point guard than he has this season.
"I love [playing point guard], man, I love it," he said. Billups spends most of his time off the ball at shooting guard with Chris Paul in Los Angeles, and when Eric Bledsoe (calf) is healthy, Billups' services are not needed at the point. Although he won't get to play a ton of point guard, the good news is the veteran said he's feeling "much better as far as my movement and my conditioning." He also acknowledged that he's not going to be 100 percent healthy at any point this season.

Sun Mar 17 201318:31Chauncey Billups quiet in 25 minutes
Chauncey Billups finished Sunday's easy win with 12 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal and just one turnover in 25 minutes of action.
This makes three straight games with 10+ points for Billups. He was 0-of-4 from downtown today, but he went 8-of-9 from the FT line and he's hitting 1.6 threes per game on the season, which at least gives him specialist appeal.

Mon Mar 11 201300:19Billups plays well in 23 minutes on Sunday
Chauncey Billups had 10 points, two 3-pointers, six assists and one steal in Sunday's easy win vs. the Pistons, his first game with double-digit points in nearly three weeks.
Billups did his damage in just 23 minutes. He has fallen off the map as a fantasy option, though deep-league owners may deploy him for a trickle of 3-pointers, assists and low-volume FT percentages.

Fri Mar 8 201301:58Billups doesn't seem bothered by back issues
Chauncey Billups played 20 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday and had eight points, four boards and two 3-pointers.
He was listed as day-to-day with a back injury, but he seems like he's as healthy as he's going to be. Billups doesn't get enough minutes to matter in most formats.

Thu Mar 7 201308:35Chauncey Billups day-to-day w/ back injury
Chauncey Billups (back) is being listed as day-to-day.
We haven't heard anything about Billups possibly missing time, but we're marking him sidelined as a precaution. He's played between 16-24 minutes consistently since returning, and owners should be able to do much better than Mr. Big Shot.

Thu Feb 28 201322:08Chauncey Billups scores three points Thursday
Chauncey Billups played just 21 minutes and had three points, one board, one assist, one steal and one block against the Pacers on Thursday.
He scored 40 points combined over a back-to-back set on February 13 and 14, but he's combined for just 20 points in his last four games. Billups doesn't get enough minutes to matter in most leagues.

Thu Feb 28 201308:55Chauncey Billups working with a minutes limit
Chauncey Billups admitted that he's still not in full basketball shape and he is currently on a minutes limit.
"I'm able to move around," Billups said. "I'm still not in the type of condition that I need to be in. And just rust." Billups is averaging 9.4 points over his last 10 games while shooting 45 percent from deep, and as long as he's doing that, the Clippers are probably very happy about it. The team will keep him "in the low 20s or less" in terms of his minutes.

Wed Feb 27 201301:30Chauncey Billups quiet in start for Clips
Chauncey Billups started at shooting guard on Tuesday but hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals in 25 minutes of an easy win over the Bobcats.
After scoring 19 and 21 in his first two games back from a back injury last week, Billups has scored 6, 8 and 3 points in his last three games. He's still capable of putting up some big numbers, but simply doesn't have to for the Clippers, meaning he's probably better served sitting on waivers in most fantasy leagues. But if he keeps getting 25 minutes per game (he played 17 in each of his previous two, and Eric Bledsoe was out tonight), he could get hot at any time.
