Thu Mar 27 201423:19Sam Dalembert looks fine from GTD
Samuel Dalembert (back) played 22 minutes vs. the Clippers on Thursday with six points, 11 boards, one assist and one block.
He was a game-time call for tonight's game with a stiff back. Dalembert does have a history of back issues with injuries in every calendar year from 2010-14. He's been playing well, but there is some considerable risk for his prospective owners.

Thu Mar 27 201419:00Samuel Dalembert (back) probable vs. Clippers
Samuel Dalembert (stiff back) told coach Rick Carlisle that he's ready to play vs. the Clippers on Thursday.
Carlisle said that Sammy is expected to play and the Mavs can certainly use him to help keep DeAndre Jordan out of the paint. If he is ultimately ruled out, Brandan Wright, DeJuan Blair and possibly Bernard James would hold down the center position.

Thu Mar 27 201412:11Samuel Dalembert will be GTD vs Clips Thurs
Samuel Dalembert (stiff back) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Dalembert has been on a mini-tear lately in averaging 7.8 points, 10.6 boards, and 2.8 blocks per game over his last five games (and that includes a seven block game against Brooklyn on Sunday). He's only averaging 23.4 minutes per game over that span, but he can do some damage in limited time so he's worth a start if he ends up suiting up Thursday. We'll update his status as soon as information becomes available, but Brandan Wright would likely be in line for a spot start if Dalembert can't play.

Wed Mar 26 201400:41Samuel Dalembert scores 10 points in 21 minut
Samuel Dalembert played 21 minutes during Tuesday's 128-119 win over the Thunder with 10 points, seven boards, one assist, one steal and one block.
He's been a hot name after flirting with a triple-double on Sunday with a 12-point, 15-board, seven-block game on Sunday. Dalembert has been a situational guy for coach Rick Carlisle hasn't been too harsh on his minutes lately. He's worth owning in standard leagues thanks to his upside in blocks.

Sun Mar 23 201423:02Samuel Dalembert double-doubles w/ 7 blocks
Samuel Dalembert was in vintage form on Sunday, blocking a season-high seven shots with 12 points and 15 rebounds as the Mavericks fell in overtime to the visiting Nets.
Sammy hadn't blocked more than three shots in a game all season before this eruption, which was even more unexpected since the Nets have only been blocked an average of 4.1 times per game this season. This is the epitome of a fluky game, reminiscent of his absurd 35-point performance last season, and Sammy remains nothing but a low-end blocks and boards specialist.

Fri Mar 7 201412:29Samuel Dalembert with starters at shootaround
Samuel Dalembert was running with the starters at Friday morning's shootaround.
Dalembert was benched for the entire second half on Wednesday night, finishing with zero points and one rebound in 10 minutes. It looks like a temporary demotion. Coach Rick Carlisle wouldn't confirm, but we'd bet on Dalembert starting against the Blazers Friday before giving way to Brandan Wright and Bernard James. The floor on all three of these guys is extremely low.

Thu Mar 6 201400:23Samuel Dalembert benched after 10 minutes
Samuel Dalembert missed all three of his shots and finished without a point or block, and just one rebound in 10 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets.
He did enough to disgust coach Rick Carlisle that Bernard James started at center for the second half (0 points, 4 rebounds, 10 minutes). Brandan Wright had the big game in the middle for the Mavs and we're all for dumping Sammy D for Wright if you own Dalembert.

Fri Feb 21 201418:57Update: Jae Crowder not starting on Friday
Updating a previous item, Samuel Dalembert will start for the Mavericks vs. the Sixers on Friday.
It was reported Jae Crowder would start, but that's not the case anymore. The move didn't make much sense to begin with due to the Sixers going extremely small, so the Mavericks would have played right into their hands.

Wed Feb 19 201401:51Dalembert, Wright both play well in loss
Samuel Dalembert started and had seven points, nine rebounds and zero blocks in 19 minutes on Tuesday against the Heat.
Brandan Wright came off the bench for 12 points, five rebounds and a block, and the two big men look like Rick Carlisle's preference in the middle for the Mavs. Neither is a must-own player, but both deserve a look if you're desperate for a center.

Sun Feb 9 201420:38Samuel Dalembert grabs 11 boards vs. Boston
Samuel Dalembert grabbed 11 rebounds on Sunday, three shy of his season-high, while chipping in six points and one block in just 23 minutes of action.
This makes two double-digit rebounding games in the past three for Sammy, who is averaging a healthy 24 minutes in four February games. He's worth a look for fantasy owners solely interested in a handful of high-percentage points, rebounds and blocks.

Sat Feb 8 201401:25Dalembert pedestrian in Mavs win
Samuel Dalembert scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and no steals or blocks in the Mavs' 103-81 win over the Jazz on Friday.
Dalembert had made some noise this past week and while blowouts are not typically the best measurements, he stayed on the high-end of his typical workload and wasn't able to get the job done in 12-14 team formats. Given the three-man center rotation, we're not inclined to cut him much slack and owners can do better in most cases.

Thu Feb 6 201401:02Sam Dalembert puts in another nice game
Samuel Dalembert poured in 14 points and grabbed 10 boards against the Grizzlies on Wednesday in 23 minutes.
He's turned in two good games after one of his patented disappearing acts heading into the game tonight. Dalembert has gone on these decent runs numerous times during the season, but he always seems to fall off. Unless you're really fishing for blocks or boards, he can be left on the wire.

Tue Feb 4 201402:33Dalembert hangs 18 and eight on Cleveland
Samuel Dalembert made his first noise in a while during Monday's win over the Cavs, scoring 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes.
Rick Carlisle has been pretty clear that he's using an interchangeable three-man rotation at center and tonight Dalembert simply got hot against a really bad Cavs team. And in a bit of deja vu from every other city he has played, the postgame report included talk of Dalembert thinking he should play more while he continues to be late for team activities. He needs to show us much more before we consider an add in 12-14 team formats.

Wed Jan 22 201411:43Samuel Dalembert (shoulder) will play Wed.
Samuel Dalembert (strained shoulder) will play on Wednesday.
He had an MRI on his shoulder which obviously came back negative, and anyone who speculatively picked up DeJuan Blair or Brandan Wright should look elsewhere for frontcourt production.

Tue Jan 21 201415:35Samuel Dalembert (shoulder) to have MRI
Samuel Dalembert will have an MRI Tuesday night on the left shoulder he injured against the Cavs on Monday.
His outlook remains day-to-day but that could change with the results of this test. DeJuan Blair and Brandan Wright will see more action if Dalembert remains sidelined, and if he's out for an extended period, Wright might be worth a look for his blocks and high-percentage scoring.

Mon Jan 20 201414:25Samuel Dalembert hurts shoulder on Monday
Samuel Dalembert suffered an apparent left shoulder injury in the third quarter of Monday's game and went to the locker room.
He was in a lot of pain as he walked back to the locker room. The team might give him an X-ray to make sure he didn't have any severe dislocation and we'll be looking for an update. DeJuan Blair is playing great on Monday and would benefit should Sammy miss time. Brandan Wright would also step up.

Thu Jan 16 201403:40Samuel Dalembert scores 20 points in loss
Samuel Dalembert hit 9-of-13 shots for a season-high 20 points to go along with seven rebounds and a steal, but didn't block a shot in Wednesday's loss.
Dalembert has been starting and playing fairly well, but scoring is usually an issue for him. He had scored a total of 18 points in his four previous games, so tonight's line looks more like a fluke than anything. But as long as he's starting for the Mavs, he's worth a look by any owners in need of a center who can rebound and block shots.

Sat Jan 11 201400:48Sam Dalembert comes up big vs. Pellies
Samuel Dalembert played well in his start against the Pelicans on Friday with nine points, eight boards, one assist and three blocks in 18 minutes.
The Mavericks couldn't really have asked for much more out of Dalembert. He was terrific on defense and had one of his better offensive games in a while. His added opportunity tonight probably had a lot to do with the Mavericks being short-handed, so there's little reason to pick him up in most formats.

Fri Jan 10 201420:10Samuel Dalembert starts vs. Pelicans
Samuel Dalembert started at center against the Pelicans on Friday.
It was a late switch for the Mavericks to give them a little extra presence in the post. Plus, moving Jae Crowder into the starting lineup gives their second unit on offense a little less punch, so it makes sense to throw DeJuan Blair in there. Fantasy owners can pretty much ignore this lineup change.
