Sun Jan 5 201422:11Samuel Dalembert picks up DNP-CD Sunday
Samuel Dalembert went from starting at center to picking up a DNP-CD on Sunday, though it's unclear what caused his inactivity.
DeJuan Blair started the game against Knicks' center Tyson Chandler and it's conceivable that Mavs coach Rick Carlisle was simply getting creative with his lineups. It's perhaps more likely that Sammy was being slapped on the wrist for some minor infraction, and we should have an update before the Mavs host the Lakers on Tuesday.

Sat Jan 4 201401:52Dalembert goes for nine and five with one blk
Samuel Dalembert started at center again on Friday and scored nine points on 2-of-5 shooting (5-of-6 FTs) with five rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.
Dalembert has been a 14-16 team play over the last two weeks but the fact that he is starting is a nice anchor to that value. As long as that is the case he can be used as a stop-gap solution in those formats.

Sat Dec 28 201319:59Samuel Dalembert starting for Dallas
Samuel Dalembert is starting against the Bulls on Saturday.
This is a surprise and the Mavericks might be willing to give Sammy bigger minutes. Basically, Dalembert and DeJuan Blair are splitting the time to share minutes at center with Brandan Wright, so it's hard to get to excited about Dalembert until he can string some games together.

Fri Dec 27 201301:02Samuel Dalembert plays 24 minutes vs. SAS
Samuel Dalember played 24 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday with eight points, six boards, three blocks and one turnover on 4-of-7 shooting.
He was questionable tonight with an illness, but was able to play above his 21.0 minutes per game. The Mavericks have been a bit of a mess at center with Brandan Wright (illness) over his shoulder injury, and tonight was the second game Dalembert played at least 24 minutes. He played a combined 26 minutes in his three games before this recent two-game stretch, so he's not really worth owning until he gets consistent minutes. Plus, Wright not playing was a big factor tonight.

Thu Dec 26 201319:01Samuel Dalembert (illness) may play vs. Spurs
Samuel Dalembert (illness) is with the Mavericks on Thursday, though it's unclear how much he might play vs. the Spurs.
Fellow big man Brandan Wright is out with an illness of his own, but it's possible that Sammy isn't healthy enough to take advantage. In any case, he's expected to come off the bench behind DeJuan Blair.

Thu Dec 26 201311:53Samuel Dalembert questionable for Thursday
Samuel Dalembert (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Spurs.
Dalembert's playing time has been a bit of a yo-yo lately as he's fluctuated from six minutes to 29 minutes within the span of three games. He's worth a look when he's starting as he can provide a boost in rebounds and assists, but he's a very frustrating player to own and is more of an option in deeper leagues. If he is unable to play against the Spurs Thursday night, DeJuan Blair should pick up some minutes against his former team.

Tue Dec 24 201302:09Dalembert starts and goes for eight and seven
Samuel Dalembert started at center on Monday for the Mavs, scoring eight points on 3-of-6 shooting with seven rebounds and three steals in 29 minutes.
The center position in Dallas could be rotated based on the situation, but as long as Dalembert is starting he'll be worth keeping tabs on. DeJuan Blair was a DNP-CD tonight and owners can probably do better than either player at this time.

Thu Dec 19 201301:50Sammy Dalembert plays 13 minutes vs. Memphis
Samuel Dalembert played 13 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, making all three of his field goals for eight points with seven boards, two steals and two blocks.
The Mavericks kept him on the bench on Saturday and Sammy played with a chip on his shoulder tonight. There really won't be much of an opportunity for him with the return of Brandan Wright while DeJuan Blair has been productive in the starting role.

Sun Dec 15 201310:27Samuel Dalembert picks up DNP-CD Saturday
With Brandan Wright (shoulder) back in action, Samuel Dalembert did not leave the Mavericks' bench on Saturday.
In his previous five games he'd averaged 2.2 points on 18.8 percent shooting, and DeJuan Blair recently replaced him in the starting lineup, so it wasn't hard to see this coming. When asked how the Mavericks can spark Dalembert's game, assistant coach Monte Mathis replied, "I think that's on him. I think he's got to jump-start himself."

Thu Nov 28 201300:04Samuel Dalembert scores 11 in start
Samuel Dalembert scored 11 points with six boards, one steal and three blocks in 27 minutes against the Warriors on Wednesday.
He was back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench on Monday due to missing part of shootaround. Dalembert is putting up some decent numbers while starting, averaging 7.8 points, 7.0 boards and 1.3 blocks on 61.2 percent from the field in his previous 13 starts. He's worth a look for owners needing a center as long as he's logging 24 minutes per game.

Wed Nov 27 201320:31Samuel Dalembert back in starting lineup
Samuel Dalembert will start at center for the Mavs on Wednesday.
He was brought off the bench for oversleeping and missing shootaround on Monday. Dalembert is in a timeshare with DeJuan Blair, plus Brandan Wright is on the comeback trail. He does have some short-tem value, but his owners should keep him on a tight leash if there is a player heating up on the waiver wire.

Tue Nov 26 201300:54Sam Dalembert benched for oversleeping
Samuel Dalembert came off the bench on Monday for oversleeping and missing part of shoot around.
When asked if Dalembert would get his job back, coach Rick Carlisle said "we'll see." He had just two points, three boards and two blocks in 18 minutes off the bench. This is his second sub-par game in a row while DeJuan Blair has played well throughout the season. Dalembert's value figures to lose playing time to Brandan Wright eventually, so if you're looking for someone else, it's not a bad idea to make a switch.

Sun Nov 24 201300:55Samuel Dalembert predictably falls off
Samuel Dalembert's head of steam came to a halt on Saturday with three points, three boards, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes.
He didn't even attempt a field goal after making all eight attempts on Friday. This type of disappointment has been on Sammy's calling card for a while now, so those that picked him up expecting some consistency are in for some disappointment. However, he blocks enough shots and grabs enough boards to remain owned in standard leagues for now, but his value could take a hit once Brandan Wright comes back.

Sat Nov 23 201303:44Dalembert has season-best night with 18 & 12
Samuel Dalembert set season-highs in scoring (18) and rebounding (12) in Friday's win over the Jazz, with an 8-of-8 mark from the field and two blocks in 29 minutes.
Maybe Dally heard Brandan Wright's footsteps, as Wright will reportedly be returning sometime in the next week or so, but in all seriousness he has been staying out of trouble with Rick Carlisle and getting it done for fantasy owners. It's going to be interesting to see how Carlisle handles Wright's return, as Dalembert and DeJuan Blair have been playing well within clearly defined roles.

Thu Nov 21 201304:07Sammy Dalembert adds another nice line
Samuel Dalembert blocked four shots against the Rockets on Wednesday, adding six points, 10 boards and two turnovers in 32 minutes.
He has nine blocks in his last three games and his minutes have increased in each of his last two games. Dalembert's playing time could eventually take a hit upon the return of Brandan Wright, so those that want to bolster their blocks might want to remember that if they're going to cut someone with better long-term prospects than Sammy D.

Tue Nov 19 201300:02Dalembert starts the second half on Monday
Starting center Samuel Dalembert was brought off the bench to begin Monday's game, but started the second half and finished with eight points, 14 boards and three blocks.
Rick Carlisle started Jae Crowder (two points, 1-of-8 FGs) to try and match up with the Sixers' small lineup, but quickly realized his mistake and rectified things in the second half. For his part, Dalembert has been a serviceable low-end center this season with Brandan Wright out.

Tue Nov 12 201323:26Sam Dalembert scores season-high 15
Samuel Dalembert hit 5-of-7 shots for a season-high 15 points, five rebounds, two steals and zero blocks in Tuesday's win.
He did most of his damage in the first quarter and might be a decent big-man option in fantasy leagues. He's available in a ton of leagues, but his inconsistency is a reason for that. But as long as he's starting for the Mavs, he's worth keeping a close eye on going forward.

Thu Oct 31 201300:40Samuel Dalamebert quiet in win
Samuel Dalembert started and played 27 minutes, but finished with just four points, nine rebounds and a block Wednesday.
The rebounds were fine, but Sammy will struggle at times offensively, and tonight was one of those times. He should block more than one shot per game and is worth owning as long as he's starting for the Mavs. Just beware that he could take a hit once Brandan Wright is back from his shoulder injury.

Mon Oct 21 201323:35Dalembert turns in best game of October
Samuel Dalembert had his best game of the preseason with 13 points, seven boards, three blocks and two steals in 25 minutes on Monday.
It's not often that a center has his best game against Dwight Howard, and Dalembert has been productive for most of this month, averaging 8.2 points, 6.8 boards and 2.4 blocks in just 21.8 minutes. With Brandan Wright sidelined due to a shoulder injury, Dalembert could get his first season in Dallas off to a fast start.
