Tue Dec 13 201110:55Kwame Brown, Warriors agree to $7M contract
Kwame Brown has signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Warriors.
The Warriors are desperate for help inside, but this is just unbelievable. After losing out on Tyson Chandler and DeAndre Jordan, the Warriors have grossly overpaid the former No. 1 overall pick. Golden State will have $16 million committed in salary between Brown and Andris Biedrins this season.

Tue Dec 13 201105:16Warriors writer says team to look at Brown
Warriors beat writer Matt Steinmetz said Monday to expect the team to look at free agent center Kwame Brown.
He makes a good case, though we still can't wrap our heads around Brown lumbering up and down the court for the Warriors. We would also expect that any interest in Brown by the Warriors would quickly get the Bobcats' attention and increase their efforts to re-sign him.

Sat Dec 10 201110:38Bobcats still negotiating for Kwame Brown
The Bobcats continue to negotiate a deal with center Kwame Brown.
If they can't keep Kwame, Charlotte needs to quickly unearth another serviceable center, because right now DeSagana Diop is the only center on the roster.

Wed Dec 7 201116:13Silas: Meeting with Kwame Brown was 'great'
Paul Silas said that unrestricted free agent Kwame Brown's meeting with the Bobcats about possibly re-signing with the team was "great."
"He was adamant about trying to come here, that he really liked what we did for him last year," Silas added. Beat writer Rick Bonnell believes that Brown would likely start at center if he returned to Charlotte, which could factor significantly into his decision. Brown averaged 7.9 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Bobcats last season, including 8.8 points and 7.6 rebounds in 50 games as a starter.

Tue Dec 6 201116:01Kwame Brown meets with Bobcats
Kwame Brown met with the Bobcats on Tuesday about possibly re-signing with the team.
DeSagana Diop, who is coming off a serious achilles injury, is the only center on the roster and Kwame played well in Charlotte last season, at least for Kwame Brown. He's an unrestricted free agent, so he'll probably talk to a lot more teams before a decision is made.

Mon Dec 5 201110:33Kwame Brown "strongly considering" Miami Heat
Kwame Brown is "strongly considering" joining the Miami Heat.
Miami is going to be connected to any center with a pulse as the team looks to upgrade on the cheap inside, and Brown certainly fits that description. It would be a shock if the Heat rolled into the season without a contingency plan behind current starter Joel Anthony.

Sun Nov 27 201117:25Kwame Brown on NY Knicks free agent radar
According to marc Berman of the New York Post, the New York Knicks are considering a one-year deal for a veteran center.
Berman lists Brown, Kurt Thomas, Tony Battie, Theo Ratliff and Aaron Gray as players the team will likely give an extended look. Of the group (which isn't pretty), Gray could be the most interesting fit for the team given his relative youth compared to the others.

Sun Jun 26 201110:32Knicks interested in renting a center
The Knicks may be interested in signing a veteran center to a one-year deal.
New York wants to spare Amare Stoudemire the rigors of playing center, but their only alternatives right now are Ronny Turiaf and Josh Harrellson. None of the veteran options mentioned are overwhelming -- Tony Battie, Kurt Thomas, Joel Pryzbilla, Aaron Gray, and even Theo Ratliff.

Wed Jun 8 201111:06Brown working out with Bobcats
Free agency Kwame Brown has been working out with Bobcats coaches daily.
Brown is going to garner interest on the open market, but all signs point toward him returning to the Bobcats. "This is the first time in a long time that, with an organization, I feel like they want me here," said Brown. He projects as the Bobcats' starting center next season.

Wed Jun 1 201109:37Silas in Kwame's corner big time
Coach Paul Silas said that Kwame Brown is going to be "unbelievable" next season.
Brown is an impending free agent that the Bobcats clearly want to retain. "Kwame is going to be unbelievable this year because we're going to have a chance to work on some of his deficiencies," Silas said. "When he comes back people are going to marvel at him at the way he's going to be playing." Brown averaged 8.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 50 starts last year. Expecting much more is a stretch.

Thu Apr 14 201111:40Brown says he'll hopefully be back with CHA
Impending free agent Kwame Brown said Thursday that he'll "hopefully come back here to the Bobcats."
Brown certainly has some loyalty to Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, but he'll likely end up with the highest bidder. After all, Brown had sunk so low that he played on a one-year, $1.22 million contract this season. He'll likely get a multi-year deal after showing some real maturity under Paul Silas.

Wed Apr 13 201114:44Silas: Kwame could get long-term offer
Bobcats coach Paul Silas said on Wednesday that he believes another team will make Kwame Brown a long-term offer once the NBA has a new collective bargaining agreement.
Whether or not any teams are truly ready to give Kwame a lucrative deal, he certainly hasn't hurt his cause this month, averaging 11.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks through seven games in April. His scoring average for the season (7.9) is the third-highest of his career.

Sun Apr 10 201121:02Kwame hot again in loss
Kwame Brown made 9-of-10 field goals Sunday on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.
Brown went 1-of-6 from the line, but he has now scored in double-figures in four straight games. Brown has also played 37 minutes more in three straight games, making him a very viable center option if you can take the free-throw shooting.

Sat Apr 9 201100:11Kwame Brown has big double-double in loss
Kwame Brown took advantage of the centerless Heat Friday, finishing with 23 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and a block on 10-of-15 shooting.
Wow. Kwame has played pretty well in his last two games and remains a fantasy option for teams desperate for a starting center. Especially with the Bobcats getting Detroit, New Jersey and Atlanta to finish up the season.

Sun Apr 3 201122:04Brown goes scoreless in loss to Wiz
Kwame Brown had zero points and three rebounds in 32 minutes of action during Sunday's loss to the Wizards.
We didn't think it was possible to produce such meager stats in so many minutes when you're a 7-footer, but Brown proved he can do it. He'll bounce back, but the upside here is around eight points and eight rebounds a night. The fact that Brown only blocks 0.5 shots per game as a starter makes him not worth a fantasy play.

Wed Mar 30 201122:14Kwame has big game in return from leave
Kwame Brown returned from a personal absence and had 16 points, eight rebounds, a steal and two blocks as the Bobcats beat the Cavs for their fourth straight win.
Kwame is not a must-start fantasy player by any means, but he does do this occasionally. If you're desperate at center, he's always worth a deep-league look.

Wed Mar 30 201111:06Brown back with the Bobcats
Kwame Brown (personal) was with the Bobcats for shootaround Wednesday morning, as expected.
Brown will be a full go tonight. He's a strong bet for 30 minutes, especially with Tyrus Thomas (ribs, knee) hobbled.

Tue Mar 29 201112:35Kwame Brown on his way back to Bobcats
Kwame Brown (personal) is on his way back to Charlotte and is expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Cavs.
It appears that all is well with Brown's daughter in Georgia. He should immediately step back in as the starting center, especially with Tyrus Thomas struggling with a rib injury.

Tue Mar 29 201111:12Kwame Brown's daughter is sick
Kwame Brown had to miss Monday's game against the Bucks because his daughter was hospitalized in Georgia after passing out.
Brown's status for Wednesday's game against the Cavs is unknown. Tyrus Thomas started in place of Brown Monday, but struggled with sore ribs and had just seven points in 20 minutes.

Mon Mar 28 201117:50Kwame Brown a late scratch for Monday game
Kwame Brown will be a late scratch from Monday's game against the Bucks due to family health issues.
The Bobcats front court is so depleted that whoever plays there is guaranteed big minutes. Tyrus Thomas (ribs) owners get a double surprise in that he is not only playing but starting.
