Sat Feb 9 201302:10Perkins scores season-high 17 points
Kendrick Perkins scored a season-high 17 points in Friday's blowout win, hitting 8-of-9 shots with nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocks in 27 minutes.
We like to bag on Perkins' overrated defense and Sam Presti's willingness to part with superstars like James Harden so he can pay the big man. But like the Slow Clap Guy in Not Another Teen Movie, we never know when to blurb the guy because of his usually mediocre production. Tonight, we finally had our moment.

Sat Dec 1 201222:51Kendrick Perkins hits double-digits again
Kendrick Perkins had 10 points, five rebounds and one block in Saturday's easy win, his second consecutive game with double-digit points.
Perkins playing time is holding steady and fantasy owners should let a two-game sample of nice games outweigh a season's worth of mediocrity. He's to be avoided in standard fantasy leagues.

Kendrick Perkins says of Wednesday's confrontation with Zach Randolph: "It was just too much talking. I wasn't frustrated, but at the same time I have a problem with losing."

Tue Nov 13 201201:01Perkins scores one point against Detroit
Kendrick Perkins scored one point with four rebounds and a block in 21 minutes against the lowly Pistons on Monday.
The good news is that the Thunder decided not to amnesty Perkins and his three-year, $25 million deal rather than extend early, but unlikely MVP candidate James Harden. In related news, we've decided on a loose application of the term 'good news' tonight.

Perkins had a good night against one of the league's worst teams. We wrote about it in our diary, saying "Kendrick Perkins had a really good night against one of the league's worst teams."

Fri Nov 9 201209:40Kendrick Perkins sits out 4th Thursday
Kendrick Perkins had just five rebounds in 20 minutes and sat out the entire fourth quarter against the Bulls on Thursday.
Normally, Scott Brooks goes back to his starters in the fourth, but with Perkins on the bench, the Thunder outscored the Bulls 31-19. If Brooks continues to keep the struggling Perkins sidelined late in games, it'll further minimalize his already limited fantasy value.

Sat Nov 3 201214:00Kendrick Perkins expected to play Sunday
Scott Brooks said he expects Kendrick Perkins (ankle) to play Sunday against the Hawks.
Perkins left Friday's game in the second half, but Brooks said Saturday the injury appeared worse than it actually was. Regardless, the Thunder center still presents little to no value to fantasy owners.

Fri Nov 2 201222:34Perkins heads to the locker room on Friday
Kendrick Perkins (leg) headed to the locker room in the second half of Friday's game.
Perkins has looked like he was playing on two bad legs so far this year and Scott Brooks continues to play him. Perkins being out may force OKC to let Serge Ibaka play 35 minutes per game and Nick Collison may also get more playing time. Perk didn't score in his 21 minutes on Friday and if he's on your standard roster, you may like him even more than Scott Brooks and Sam Presti combined.

Wed Oct 24 201223:13Kendrick Perkins gets the start again
Kendrick Perkins scored six points and had six rebounds in 20 minutes Wednesday.
Any concerns the Thunder had about Perkins starting the season on time appear to have vanished. Unfortunately, Perkins still lacks fantasy value in most leagues.

Mon Oct 22 201208:54Kendrick Perkins (groin) very quiet in debut
Kendrick Perkins (groin) made his preseason debut on Sunday, posting four points on 2-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes.
Perkins was considered questionable to start the season and the team was just hoping he'd be ready to play at that point, so it's a great sign he was able to play in the preseason. However, the big man is not a fantasy option in the majority of formats.

Mon Oct 15 201222:08Perkins (wrist) practices on Monday
Kendrick Perkins (wrist, groin) participated in most of Monday's practice.
Perkins still couldn't offer a timeline for his return and the team is targeting the season opener. Regardless, Perkins is not a fantasy option in most formats and Cole Aldrich would be the beneficiary of any absence.

Mon Oct 15 201210:21Kendrick Perkins (wrist) uncertain for opener
Kendrick Perkins (wrist) has no timetable for his return, and could miss the season opener as he recovers.
Perkins had wrist surgery in the offseason, and after previously saying his "goal" was to be ready for the start of the year, it's not a lock that he'll be back. "Each day it's getting better," he said. He's expected to miss the entire preseason, and if he's forced to miss time during the regular season, Cole Aldrich would see a boost in minutes.

Wed Sep 26 201212:53Thunder hope Perkins will be ready for season
GM Sam Presti said the "goal" for Kendrick Perkins (groin surgery, wrist surgery) is to be ready for the start of the regular season.
It sounds like Perkins will miss most of, if not all of the preseason, so Cole Aldrich, Daniel Orton and Hasheem Thabeet should all see some extended action. As of now, Perk is expected to be ready for the regular season, but keep an eye on his health as training camp ramps up.

Mon Sep 17 201209:47Kendrick Perkins' groin 'fine' after surgery
Kendrick Perkins said that his surgically-repaired groin is "fine," while his surgically-repaired wrist is still healing.
Perkins actually underwent two surgeries in the offseason--one to repair his groin and another to repair a torn ligament in his wrist. Big Perk is in the final month of his three-month rehab process with the wrist, so he may miss some time at the onset of training camp. He should be fine for the regular season.

Thu Jul 19 201219:11Perkins had torn wrist ligament in playoffs
Kendrick Perkins underwent a successful procedure on a torn left wrist ligament on Thursday.
This goes with a torn groin that Perkins played through during the playoffs, and just adds to the legend of Scott Brooks overplaying the underwhelming big man -- despite the entire free world shouting in unison that he didn't belong on the court.

Kendrick Perkins underwent groin surgery on Thursday and is expected to be healed in three to four weeks.
The injury bothered him quite a bit last season and he had the surgery despite saying a couple weeks ago that it was no longer an issue. In any case, he should be fully healthy by the start of the season.

Mon Jun 25 201209:55Kendrick Perkins downplays groin injury
Kendrick Perkins (groin) downplayed the severity of his injury.
"My groin hasn't bothered me since about the Lakers series," Perkins said. "It's gotten a whole lot better. It won't affect me (this summer) at all." It sounds as if Perkins will be 100 percent by the time the 2012-13 season rolls around, and he dismissed the idea that he may need surgery to repair the issue.
