Tue Apr 16 201309:08Metta World Peace feeling better every day
Metta World Peace said his knee is "getting better every day."
"Every day it's getting back to normal," he added. World Peace has been moved back into the starting lineup and played 29 minutes on Sunday, so MWP should be pretty close to full strength for the postseason if the Lakers can beat the Rockets on Wednesday.

Wed Apr 10 201302:06Metta World Peace plays 15 minutes in return
Metta World Peace returned just 12 days after knee surgery and had four points, one rebound and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes on Tuesday.
He's not going to be at full strength until the playoffs get here, meaning he may not be worth owning in fantasy the rest of the way.

Tue Apr 9 201313:46Update: World Peace will play, will not start
Updating a previous item, Metta World Peace (knee surgery) will play on Tuesday against the Hornets, but he will not start.
Mike D'Antoni said MWP is ready to go, and it's pretty unbelievable he'll be back in action. He'll likely be on some kind of minutes limit for his first game back (Mike D'Antoni guessed around 20 minutes), and because he'll come off the bench, Jodie Meeks will keep his spot in the starting lineup for now. Steve Nash (hip, hamstring) is officially out.

Tue Apr 9 201309:04Metta World Peace expects to play on Tuesday
Metta World Peace (knee surgery) expects to play on Tuesday against New Orleans.
World Peace had knee surgery in late March, and after it was revealed he would miss "at least six weeks," MWP is set to return to the lineup just two weeks after the procedure. It's an unbelievable recovery for World Peace, but he's not expected to be at 100 percent health. "All the guys under contract, injured or not injured, we all need each other," he said. Jodie Meeks will move back to the bench as long as World Peace is out there.

Mon Apr 8 201315:40Metta World Peace (knee) could return Tuesday
Metta World Peace (knee surgery) played 3-on-3 on Monday, and he will play vs. the Hornets on Tuesday if there are no setbacks.
Unbelievable. Metta had knee surgery in late March and was expected to miss six weeks, which was revised to 4-6 weeks, and now it seems he could play less than two weeks after the procedure. We'll temper our expectations until we see him on the court, but his return will threaten Earl Clark's recent uptick in production.

Mon Apr 8 201308:52Metta World Peace to test his knee this week
Metta World Peace will test his surgically-repaired knee this week, less than two full weeks after having the procedure.
For context, Chase Budinger had a similar injury and was out from early November through the late March. MWP will run at 90 percent of his body weight before evaluating whether he can run with full body weight on Tuesday. If he goes through that without any setbacks, he'll attempt to practice and is eyeing a return before the regular season ends. Mike D'Antoni said MWP is "way ahead of schedule," and the enigmatic forward has spent the last three days running and doing shooting drills.

Thu Apr 4 201309:25Metta World Peace already off of his crutches
Metta World Peace (knee surgery) has already ditched his crutches and was "very pleased" with his surgical procedure.
MWP didn't say if he was ahead of schedule, but the fact he's already off crutches is a positive sign. It's not clear exactly what his timetable looks like, but he was expected to miss at least six weeks and it would be a huge surprise to see him again this year unless the Lakers can make a deep playoff run.

Wed Apr 3 201308:39Metta World Peace tweets rehab going well
Metta World Peace tweeted that his rehab "is going great," but there is no change in his timetable to return.
World Peace is expected to miss at least six weeks from the date of his surgery, and it's only been about a week since that point. The Lakers are going to have to play deep into the postseason for MWP to have a prayer of returning this year, and we don't expect to see him until next season.

Thu Mar 28 201315:05Metta World Peace undergoes surgery on knee
Metta World Peace underwent surgery on the torn meniscus in his left knee Thursday.
World Peace is out at least six weeks, which rules out any chance of him playing again the regular season. His best chance to play again this season likely wouldn't come until the second round of the playoffs, which assumes that the Lakers win their first-round matchup. Jodie Meeks will get the first crack at replacing Artest in the starting lineup.

Wed Mar 27 201315:26Metta World Peace needs surgery, out 6 weeks
Metta World Peace needs surgery to repair the torn meniscus in his left knee and will miss at least six weeks.
The surgery is scheduled for Thursday, which means the earliest he could return is May 9. Assuming World Peace returns in precisely six weeks, that would put the return somewhere during the end of the first round of the playoffs, possibly the second round if the Lakers advance. For fantasy purposes, this means World Peace is done for the season and can be safely dispatched to the waiver wire if he wasn't already. Jodie Meeks should get a full crack at the starting job now and could help owners in search of 3-pointers and points. Antawn Jamison may also flirt with some added value if he stays healthy.

Wed Mar 27 201315:08D'Antoni not optimistic about World Peace
Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said he's not optimistic about Metta World Peace's chance of playing again during the regular season.
World Peace has a meniscus tear in his left knee and is currently considered "out indefinitely." The Lakers won't know a definitive timetable until he's checked out by a team doctor in L.A. "I say I'm not optimistic only because there's only a couple weeks and if it's bad enough to go get it checked, we'll see what happens when he goes gets it checked, but it will be tough," D'Antoni said at shootaround Wednesday. We're not expecting World Peace to return before the playoffs but will update you once he sees the team doctor. Jodie Meeks is expected to get the first chance at replace World Peace in the lineup.

Tue Mar 26 201321:28Report: World Peace has meniscus tear
Metta World Peace has a meniscus tear in his left knee and will be out indefinitely.
He'll return to L.A. for further evaluation so we should know more on Wednesday night, but as of now, we're guessing his regular season is probably over. Antawn Jamison will likely take his starting spot, while Earl Clark will also see plenty of minutes at small forward off the bench. If you own MWP, it's probably time to cut bait and pick up a hot free agent, or Jamison.

Tue Mar 26 201307:48World Peace to be reevaluated, iffy Wednesday
Metta World Peace (knee) will be reevaluated on Tuesday in Minnesota and is questionable to play on Wednesday.
World Peace said he "couldn't really walk" after the game, and Mike D'Antoni added that "the back of his knee was bothering him," but also admitted he's not sure exactly what the issue is. World Peace believes it to be a fluid issue and was spotted limping out of the locker room, so his status for Wednesday's game is definitely up in the air. Antawn Jamison and Earl Clark could each pick up some time if World Peace sits, or the Lakers could go small and give extended run to Steve Blake and Jodie Meeks with Kobe Bryant shifting to small forward.

Tue Mar 26 201301:49World Peace (knee) questionable for Wednesday
Metta World Peace (knee) said he "couldn't really walk" after Monday's game and that he isn't sure if he can play on Wednesday in Minnesota.
That doesn't sound great but we'll wait for the next report to really formulate an opinion, since MWP's tone can vary and printed quotes don't often do the situation justice. And since it's L.A. we're talking about here, there will be plenty of reports. Jodie Meeks is worth a speculative short-term look while World Peace is on hiatus, and Antawn Jamison (wrist) becomes a desperation option best suited for deeper formats.

Tue Mar 26 201300:08Metta World Peace doubtful with knee
Metta World Peace suffered a knee injury in Monday's game and is questionable to return.
He did look a bit hobbled and didn't box out on the last two GSW possessions of the first half that cost the Lakers four points. Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks will help pick up the slack with MWP out of the lineup.

Tue Mar 19 201301:41Metta World Peace steals five on Monday
Metta World Peace shot 5-of-17 from the field for 12 points with six boards, three assists, five steals and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
His shot totals have seen a spike lately with 14.4 attempts per game over his previous five. MWP averaged 1.8 triples and 1.7 steals over his last six and he should be starting in all standard leagues.

Mon Mar 18 201312:53Metta World Peace now over right leg issue
Metta World Peace "popped something" in his fibula agains the Thunder back on January 11, but "it didn't tear," and currently he's feeling much better.
This helps to explain the drop off in World Peace's play before recently. He shot just 38.5 percent in January and 32.6 percent in February, but he's now shooting 47.3 percent over nine games in April. World Peace said the injury "messed up my alignment," and it also impacted his ability to train in his typical fashion. Now that he's healthy, World Peace is no longer limited and owners should feel good about deploring him the rest of the way. "I'm moving now again," he said.

Mon Mar 18 201300:06Kings fall as World Peace takes over
Metta World Peace hit 10-of-13 FGs to score 22 points on Sunday, adding four assists and one block in a win over the Kings.
MWP has shot below 40 percent in each of the past three seasons, partly due to an increase in 3-point attempts, so don't get used to the efficient shooting. He hit one 3-pointer during tonight's barrage, though oddly he didn't have a single rebound in 40 minutes.

Wed Mar 13 201323:10World Peace scores 20 points vs. ATL
Metta World Peace shot 9-of-19 from the field for 20 points with eight boards, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 42 minutes.
He took nine attempts from downtown and MWP is going to have a lot on his offensive plate with the Black Mamba down. He played 37.4 minutes per game and that number will be on the rise. There's a good chance he'll be the team leader in field goal attempts and the 3-point attempts will be coming in bunches, so he's moving back to must-start status.

Thu Mar 7 201308:41Metta World Peace's ankle is not an issue
Metta World Peace said that his sprained ankle is "good."
World Peace sprained it doing a "Harlem Shake" on the court on Tuesday, but he played Wednesday and was fine. He'll likely have the wrap around his ankle while he's less than 100 percent, but he's not expected to miss any time.
