Sat Nov 16 201322:23Metta World Peace (knee) had soreness in AM
Metta World Peace (left knee) complained of soreness in his left knee in the morning and asked to not play in Saturday's game.
He's a pretty tough guy, so asking not to play isn't a good sign, especially given the how shorthanded the Knicks are in the frontcourt. World Peace should be considered questionable for Tuesday's game against the Pistons. Tim Hardaway Jr. picked up some extra playing time on Saturday.

Sat Nov 16 201318:33Metta World Peace to sit with sore knee
Metta World Peace will miss Saturday's game with a sore left knee.
We're guessing Iman Shumpert will step up in his place tonight, while J.R. Smith's brother, Chris, will be on the active roster.

Thu Nov 14 201301:21Metta World Peace quiet off Knicks bench
Metta World Peace came off the bench for just four points and one rebound in 21 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Hawks.
We were expecting more from MWP when Tyson Chandler went down, but he still hasn't had a breakout game. And as long as he's coming off the bench and playing defense, it may not ever come.

Sun Nov 10 201315:17MWP has a solid effort off the bench
Metta World Peace shot 5-of-11 from the field for 13 points with five boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Spurs on Sunday.
He had a team high in shots today and was able to get decent looks from different spots on the court. Since the Tyson Chandler injury, World Peace is averaging 31.0 minutes per game and is worth owning in most leagues while the Knicks try to figure out what they're going to do with their frontcourt.

Sat Nov 9 201301:56World Peace does dirty work in NY's win
Metta World Peace scored nine points off the bench on Friday, hitting 4-of-9 shots from the field (including a three) with three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 29 minutes.
The Knicks are going to need to rely on MWP as their swing backup forward, and on a night in which Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani and Raymond Felton combined for 64 shot attempts it's hard to get on him for the lack of shots tonight. World Peace has a relatively solid floor as a projected mid-to-late round value on the year.

Sun Nov 3 201323:21World Peace has his best game of the season
Metta World Peace had his best game as a Knick on Sunday with 17 points, four rebounds, one block, one steal and two 3-pointers on 7-of-13 shooting 21 minutes.
He was effective on both ends of the floor and help the Knicks nearly pull off a big comeback in the fourth quarter. World Peace hasn't played more than 23 minutes in any of his three games, and with J.R. Smith's return on the horizon, his minutes could be going down.

Wed Oct 30 201323:16Metta World Peace comes off Knicks bench
Metta World Peace came off the bench for the Knicks as they went with a small lineup against the Bucks.
MWP had four points and four rebounds, and it looks like the Knicks starting lineup, at least to start the season, may change from night to night.

Mon Oct 28 201317:39Metta World Peace in running for starting job
Mike D'Antoni is considering starting Metta World Peace instead of Andrea Bargnani for the Knicks' opener.
MWP would allow Carmelo Anthony to shift to PF, where he thrived last year, whereas Bargnani (coming off a lousy preseason) would move Melo to SF. Woodson has also suggested that he might tweak his lineups based upon opponents, which lends a wobbly feel to the entire situation.

Mon Oct 21 201322:40World Peace scores 16 points vs. Raptors
Metta World Peace shot 6-of-14 from the field for 16 points with six boards, three assists and four 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Raptors.
He's getting more acclimated with his role as a spot-up shooter and this was his first game with multiple triples. The Knicks could use World Peace as a stretch four as well as a small forward behind Carmelo Anthony, but there probably aren't enough shots to go around for him to be a pick in standard leagues.

Thu Oct 17 201311:15World Peace skips trip due to ankle
Metta World Peace skipped the trip to Washington for Thursday's preseason game due to a sprained ankle.
The injury doesn't sound serious and he's just being held out for precautionary reasons. MWP should make for a decent late-round fantasy pick as an integral part of the Knicks this season.

Wed Oct 16 201313:29Metta World Peace turns ankle, avoids damage
Metta World Peace turned his ankle during Wednesday's practice but he's expected to be fine.
"I got word that he'll be OK," Mike Woodson said. With J.R. Smith (knee) and Kenyon Martin (ankle) already limited by injuries, the Knicks could ill afford to have Metta suffer any serious damage. We're considering him questionable for Thursday's road game vs. the Wizards.

Wed Oct 9 201322:51World Peace scores 12 off Knicks bench
Metta World Peace, whom Carmelo Anthony still calls Ron Artest, came off the bench for 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-9 shooting Wednesday.
He looks pretty good in a Knicks uniform and could be ready for a solid season off the bench. Just beware that his shooting percentage usually does more harm than good in fantasy, but he shot it well tonight.

Tue Sep 24 201310:02Metta World Peace ready for big role w/ NYK
Metta World Peace said he's fine with a bench role in New York, but he'd like a bigger role offensively than he's had with L.A. the past few seasons.
"I'm still going to defer and sacrifice, but I think I might have more of a breakout season," said Metta. "People forgot that before I got to L.A., I was a 20-point scorer a night. I'll remind people." He averaged 34 minutes per game with the Lakers last year, which may be unattainable in New York, and fantasy owners should temper expectations for the Knicks' backup SF.

Thu Jul 25 201320:37Metta World Peace may change name again
Metta World Peace said that he plans to change his name this season.
"We are going to do do a name change, but I can't tell you what it is," World Peace said in an interview with ClevverNews. It's not expected to be a legal change and he said that process is "too much work." MWP is a wild card, so it's not a bad idea to hold off on ordering your number 51 World Peace jersey until this clears up.

Mon Jul 15 201308:52Metta World Peace going to Las Vegas
Metta World Peace said that he's going to Las Vegas to "watch Floyd Mayweather train," according to the NY Post.
Despite what he says, there's a good chance that NBA teams like the Knicks will be able to get in contact with him. World Peace's agent has been contacted by four different teams with the Knicks as the perceived strong frontrunner. He's have some fun making jokes about his plans on Twitter and it could be a while before he comes to an agreement with a team.

Sun Jul 14 201319:52Report: NYK favored to land Metta World Peace
The Knicks are "the strong frontrunner" to sign Metta World Peace, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Metta is expected to meet with Knicks executives in Las Vegas within the next two days, so we may not have to wait long for him to choose a new team. He has publicly toyed with the idea of playing for Yao Ming's team in China, or leaving the NBA for another sport, but that was never a likely outcome. If he does sign in New York, he'd be accepting a maximum $1.7 million salary (the remainder of the Knicks' mini-mid-level exception).

Sun Jul 14 201316:24Metta World Peace talks with Yao Ming
Metta World Peace spoke with Yao Ming about playing with Shanghai next year.
If anyone would turn down a chance to play in the NBA in favor of playing in China, World Peace would certainly be a possibility. The Knicks are still believed to be the frontrunner for the Queens native and this situation should be resolved in the coming days. We'll know more about MWP's situation at his waiver deadline Sunday evening at 5 EDT.
