Anderson (abdomen) continued to miss his third-straight day of practice Sunday, the New York Post reports. |
Anderson's right abdominal injury isn't believed to be serious, but it's still causing him issues and the Nets will be as cautious as possible with the 31-year-old veteran. Considering that Brooklyn's regular season doesn't start until Oct. 29, Anderson should have plenty of time to recover and prepare for when it really matters. |

Anderson is competing for the Nets' starting shooting guard spot during training camp, ESPN New York reports. |
Anderson and rookie Bojan Bogdanovic were mentioned by coach Lionel Hollins as possible replacements at the shooting guard position after moving Joe Johnson to small forward. Anderson finished last season with averages of 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, one assist, and 0.6 steals in 23 minutes per game. He also picked up 26 starts while playing in 78 games for the Nets, so he may have the advantage over Bogdanovic in regards to having familiarity with the players and system. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out during camp before making any predictions at who could start. |

Nets SF Alan Anderson will decline his $1.1 million player option in favor of free agency this summer. |
Anderson isn't likely to earn much more than the minimum veteran's salary, but he may be able to lock up a multi-year deal with a team in need of perimeter shooting. The 31-year-old averaged 7.2 points in 23 minutes per game last season, while making 33.9 percent of his attempts from downtown. |

Sat May 10 2014 | 23:06 | Alan Anderson, Ray Allen tussle in Game 3 |
Alan Anderson had eight points and two 3-pointers in 18 minutes off the Nets bench on Saturday. |
He also got into a mini-altercation with Ray Allen and may or may not have thrown a punch, but because replays were inconclusive and he stayed in the game, we doubt a suspension is looming. Anderson has scored a total of 19 points in three games in this series, making him a tough fantasy play. |

Sun May 4 2014 | 11:57 | Alan Anderson will remain in starting lineup |
Alan Anderson will remain in the starting lineup for Sunday's Game 7 vs. Toronto. |
Anderson's ability to hit the 3-point shot gives Brooklyn some additional floor spacing that Shaun Livingston does not provide. The move was successful in Game 6, resulting in a Brooklyn win, and Jason Kidd will be rolling with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. |

Fri May 2 2014 | 21:44 | Anderson (groin) nears double-double in win |
Alan Anderson played through a groin injury in Friday's Game 6 win over the Raptors, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting with nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 31 minutes. |
This is a good sign for the Nets, who need him to log solid minutes on the defensive end and also space the floor. Anderson did not hit a three tonight, but a well-balanced outing was one of the reasons they cruised for most of the night. |

Alan Anderson (groin) did not practice on Tuesday and his status is uncertain for Wednesday's Game 5. |
Despite playing 24 minutes in Game 4, Anderson only managed to score three points on 1-of-6 shooting. There was no indication that the groin injury hampered him on the court, but it could be a reason why he struggled. If Anderson cannot play on Wednesday, or is limited at all, Marcus Thornton may see increased minutes off the bench. |

Wed Apr 9 2014 | 17:42 | Alan Anderson will start vs. the Magic on Wed |
Alan Anderson will start against the Magic on Wednesday night. |
He should see minutes in the high 20s tonight, which could get him in double figures with a couple triples. Anderson will likely split his minutes with Marcus Thornton, who is probably a better option in fantasy leagues for a higher usage rate, but he's a decent low-end option in deep leagues. |
