Fri Aug 2 201314:52Andrei Kirilenko fine coming off bench
Andrei Kirilenko said he has "no problem" coming off the bench this season.
Kirilenko admitted that at first, he was concerned about his role on the Nets' deep roster. But after talking to coach Jason Kidd, he feels good about it. The Nets will start Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez. They'll have Jason Terry, Reggie Evans, Andray Blatche and Alan Anderson and Kirilenko as bench players. All this talent is going to cap fantasy upside across the board.

Thu Aug 1 201314:34Andrei Kirilenko has no regrets about opt out
Andrei Kirilenko said Thursday he has no regrets about opting out his contract with the Timberwolves.
Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for 2013-14. He eventually ended up signing a one-year, $3.1 million deal with Brooklyn, which brought out rumors of an illegal side deal with Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Kirilenko acknowledged he thought in the past about playing for the Nets because they were owned by a Russian, but he denied there was any sort of secondary or backdoor dealings. Kirilenko is expected to be the primary backup to Paul Pierce this season and probably won't have a ton of fantasy value.

Thu Jul 11 201318:32Report: Nets get Kirilenko for 1 year, $3.1M
The Nets signed Andrei Kirilenko to a one-year, $3.1 million contract, according to Peter Vescey.
Nets beat writer Stefan Bondy also confirmed the shocking news. Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for 2013-14 in search of a multiyear deal, but the market for him dried up after the Timberwolves wouldn't agree to sign-and-trades with OKC and the Spurs. Kirilenko is a huge get for a Nets team that was seriously lacking depth after they traded for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. He'll likely be Pierce's primary backup but could still see 20 to 25 minutes a night.

Thu Jul 11 201317:39Report: Four teams eyeing Andrei Kirilenko
The Spurs, Kings, Nets and Cavs are showing interest in Andrei Kirilenko, according to Pro Basketball Draft.
The Spurs previously attempted to workout a sign-and-trade for Kirilenko, but the Wolves weren't interested in facilitating. Also, the Nets and Cavs aren't financially flush to the point where they could meet Kirilenko's price as a free agent. The Kings make sense after letting Tyreke Evans go to New Orleans and Kirilenko would definitely be an upgrade over what they have on the wing now.

Wed Jul 10 201315:44Report: Nothing doing between Kirilenko, Nets
There's nothing happening between the Nets and Andrei Kirilenko, a source tells Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
The Spurs and Thunder both attempted to work out a sign-and-trade with the Wolves for Kirilenko, but Wolves GM Flip Saunders wasn't biting. Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for next season but is more focused on landing a multiyear deal at this point in his career, which makes the Nets an unlikely fit.

Wed Jul 10 201303:38Spurs unable to complete S&T for Kirilenko
The Spurs were unable to work out a sign-and-trade deal for free agent Andrei Kirilenko because Wolves GM Flip Saunders didn't want to help him find another home.
Saunders was equally stingy with the Thunder, who sought a trade exception, when he denied a sign-and-trade after Kevin Martin left for the Wolves. Ironically, it's Denver now that doesn't want to sign-and-trade Corey Brewer to the Wolves, as the shoe moves anticlimactically to the other foot.

Sun Jul 7 201311:51Spurs may be out of Kirilenko sweepstakes
The Spurs may no longer be pursuing Andrei Kirilenko.
After reaching contract agreements with Marco Belinelli and Jeff Pendergraph, the Spurs have at least 13 players under guaranteed contracts (14 if they retain RFA Gary Neal). They'd also need to convince Kirilenko that he'll get enough playing time with Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and Belinelli on the wings, and AK is seeking a multi-year investment the Spurs likely won't make.

Sat Jul 6 201316:11Kings not looking at UFA Andrei Kirilenko
Unrestricted free agent Andrei Kirilenko is not an option for the Kings, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports.
The Kings aren't exactly having a big offseason. They lost Tyreke Evans and whiffed on their chance to sign Andre Iguodala. As for AK-47, he's looking for a multi-year contract with a team and he should find one soon now that most of the big names are off the market.

Tue Jul 2 201322:31Wolves likely to renounce rights to Kirilenko
Darren Wolfson is reporting that it is likely that the Timberwolves will renounce its rights to Andrei Kirilenko after signing SG Kevin Martin on Tuesday.
The Wolves will pay Martin $7 million per year which means they simply can't afford Kirilenko. He's already an unrestricted free agent, but there was hope that the Wolves would bring him back. That will not be happening, putting newly signed Chase Budinger on the inside track to start at SF this season.

Mon Jul 1 201315:28Report: Spurs interested in Andrei Kirilenko
The Spurs reportedly have interest in signing unrestricted FA Andrei Kirilenko.
ESPN's Marc Stein reports that "[the] Spurs have AK-47 in their sights." Kirilenko said in a recent interview that he hopes to play "at a high level for at least three more seasons" and it's no secret that he opted out of his deal with the Wolves to secure a multi-year contract. The Spurs have enough salary-cap flexibility to make a legitimate offer, but they'd also need to convince him that he'd have a big role since Kawhi Leonard is already the starting SF.

Sat Jun 29 201312:11Andrei Kirilenko opts out, will be free agent
Andrei Kirilenko has opted out of the final year of his contract and will be a free agent.
Kirilenko had a player option for the 2013-14 season worth $10.2 million but is in search of a three- or four-year deal in what he believes might be his last chance at a big-time contract. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Wolves aren't likely to offer Kirilenko anything more than a two-year deal worth less than $10 million per season. Minnesota also drafted swingman Shabazz Muhammad in the first round Thursday night and the rookie could end up stepping in and replacing Kirilenko next season.

Thu Jun 20 201315:01Kirilenko expects option decision after draft
Andrei Kirilenko expects to make a decision on the player option in his contract after Thursday's draft.
Kirilenko has to decide by June 29 whether to exercise the $10.2 million option year on his contract. While it might seem strange the date comes after the draft, it's the deadline former GM David Kahn put in Kirilenko's contract last summer. If he does opt out, Kirilenko is unlikely to get a contract that averages $10 million per season from new GM Flip Saunders, but he could still land a multiyear deal over two or three seasons.

Fri Jun 7 201309:24Report: Kirilenko hasn't decided on opt out
Andrei Kirilenko has not decided whether he'll opt in our out of his contract, a decision he needs to make by the end of the month.
Kirilenko recently told a Russian reporter that nothing has been decided yet, but he wasn't thrilled at the idea of playing on a one-year deal. It sounds like Kirilenko is considering opting out, and according to 1500 ESPN, the team doesn't "love" the idea of paying him $10 million. If AK-47 does opt out, the Wolves will likely have to offer a multi-year deal to keep him.

Wed May 29 201317:54Saunders expects Kirilenko back next season
Timberwolves GM Flip Saunders says he expects Andrei Kirilenko to return next season.
Kirilenko has until June 30 to either opt-out of his contract or pick up his player option for the 2013-14 season. Saunders is expecting him to do the latter, which would pay Kirilenko over $10 million next year. We doubt he'd get that much on the open market due to his age and health questions, but Kirilenko can still be a solid rotation player for Minnesota next season. Unfortunately, with Kevin Love presumably back and healthy, Kirilenko's fantasy value will be pretty limited.

Sat Apr 6 201323:00Andrei Kirilenko grabs seven steals vs. DET
Andrei Kirilenko finished Saturday's victory with 13 points, one 3-pointer, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a season-high seven steals.
AK was one steal shy of his career-high and he has double-digit points in four straight games. It's safe to say that he's 'back' after weeks of quiet play following a calf injury.

Wed Apr 3 201322:18Kirilenko plays 34 minutes vs. Milwaukee
Andrei Kirilenko had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's victory, while playing 34 minutes of action.
The stats aren't too impressive, but AK hadn't played more than 32 minutes in a game since returning from injury in mid-March. Tonight's game was as good a sign as any that he's healthy and ready to pick up a bigger role in the Wolves' final games.

Sat Mar 30 201323:50Andrei Kirilenko scores five in quiet line
Andrei Kirilenko was quiet against the Grizzlies on Saturday with five points, four boards and one assist in 28 minutes.
It looked like he was getting ready to come around due the averages of 11.5 points, 2.5 steals, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 triples in 29.5 minutes over his last two games, but he fell on his face tonight. Kirilenko has been a disappointment lately and uncharacteristically has just one total block over his five games. He has a great schedule, so we would be apprehensive in cutting him for a hot free agent.

Sat Mar 30 201301:38Kirilenko getting back on track for Minny
Andrei Kirilenko scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 32 minutes on Friday against the Thunder.
If Kirilenko can play like this for the rest of the year owners will call it a win, and owners can cautiously evaluate him as if the arrow is pointing slightly up.

Thu Mar 28 201300:59Andrei Kirilenko still struggling for Wolves
Andrei Kirilenko played 27 minutes, but hit just 3-of-8 shots for 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals on Wednesday.
The minutes are creeping up and while he's still not getting it done for his owners, he could break out of the funk at any time. His calf injury is still not fully healed, but you have to think he'll start feeling better as long as they're continuing to let him play through it.

Tue Mar 26 201322:43Kirilenko struggles again vs. Pistons
Andrei Kirilenko played 24 minutes and hit4-of-9 shots for just nine points on Tuesday, and added just one rebound, two assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in an easy win over the Pistons.
This is not what his owners were looking for when they picked him up, and he also had a disappointing line on Sunday. He's still limited by his calf injury and while chances are he'll get it going at some point, he's not a player that should be considered a 'must-start' given his current struggles.
