Thu Jan 30 201417:00Andrei Kirilenko (calf) day-to-day after MRI
An MRI on Andrei Kirilenko's sore calf was negative and he remains day-to-day.
The Nets could surely use him for Friday's game vs. the Thunder, who have a nine-game win streak, but his status won't be determined until shootaround at the earliest. He's averaging 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 steals in a reserve role this season, which isn't enough for value in standard leagues.

Thu Jan 30 201412:05Andrei Kirilenko (calf) questionable for Fri
Andrei Kirilenko missed Thursday's practice due to his sore right calf.
Kirilenko hasn't been stuffing the stat sheet like he did during his best years, but the 34-year-old has shown recent glimpses of the fantasy star that he used to be. Over his last five games, Kirilenko has averaged 22.6 minutes, 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 blocks. Those aren't numbers that standard league owners will be salivating over, but he can provide decent value in deeper leagues. We'll consider AK questionable for Friday and will update his status as more information becomes available.

Wed Jan 29 201411:48Kirilenko sits out Nets practice w/ sore calf
Andrei Kirilenko sat out Wednesday's practice with a sore right calf.
AK hasn't missed a game since returning from a back injury on Dec. 31 and this doesn't sound very serious, but owners should still consider him questionable to play vs. the Thunder on Friday.

Mon Jan 27 201423:03Kirilenko posts defensive numbers again
Andrei Kirilenko scored just four points with two rebounds and two assists, but he managed two steals and one block in 24 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Kirilenko is creeping back up into the standard league discussion even if he's not there yet. In a deeper league, however, he's putting up 14-16 team value and that means he should be owned in most of those formats.

Sat Jan 25 201401:54D-Alert: Kirilenko posts a steal and block
Andrei Kirilenko was still quiet in Friday's game, but managed to post a steal and block to go with six points and three rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
Defensive numbers are a part of the deal with Kirilenko and it doesn't take much for him to be relevant in fantasy leagues. It's still probably too early to consider a pickup in most formats, but deep league owners will want to keep an eye on things.

Sun Jan 19 201410:42Andrei Kirilenko's back is feeling better
In a recent interview Andrei Kirilenko stated that his back is beginning to feel better, after dealing with spasms through the first two months of the season.
"I am feeling pretty good," Kirilenko said. "Again, nothing bothered me and I had a great game [Thursday]. Gradually, I am getting better. I played without a brace [against the Hawks], which is a huge improvement. And I'm feeling, movement-wise, great." Kirilenko's numbers don't jump off the page, but since being infused back into the lineup the Nets have gone on a 6-2 run. While Kirilenko is helping his team win games, he's not offering enough statistically right now to be owned in standard leagues.

Sat Jan 11 201417:44AK-47 will play vs. Toronto on Saturday
Andrei Kirilenko will play against the Raptors on Saturday.
There is no word of an official injury, but Kirilenko doesn't look healthy. He can be spotted on the sidelines grabbing his back and in pain, so it's only a matter of time before he needs to miss a game. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should factor in his injury risk before taking a chance on him.

Sat Jan 11 201400:23Kirilenko still trolling the ocean floor
Andrei Kirilenko did not hit a field goal in Friday's double-overtime win, finishing with one point, five boards and two steals in 22 minutes.
His minutes are slowly creeping up but the production isn't anywhere to be seen so far, and owners will want to watch him from the waiver wire in most formats.

Mon Jan 6 201422:28Andrei Kirilenko plays 21 minutes vs. ATL
Andrei Kirilenko played a season-high 21 minutes against the Hawks on Monday with eight points, three boards, four assists and two turnovers.
He was expected to be in the teens on minutes tonight, but coach Jason Kidd gave the Russian a little extra burn. Kirilenko is playing some nice energy and he's had a knack for blocks and steals in his career, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues while he's healthy. Although, his prospective owners will probably want to cut him at the first sign of trouble.

Sat Jan 4 201423:23Andrei Kirilenko plays just 14 minutes
Andrei Kirilenko played 14 minutes on Saturday and finished with eight points, two rebounds and nothing else.
As long as AK is getting less than 25 minutes a game it's going to be tough for him to produce. He's also dealing with a very crowded frontcourt in Brooklyn and you're probably better off letting someone else deal with the headaches that are going to come with owning him.

Thu Jan 2 201423:29Andrei Kirilenko scores 9 in 15 minutes
Andrei Kirilenko played 15 minutes, hit all three of his shots and finished with nine points, two rebounds and one assist in Thursday's big win over the Thunder.
Kirilenko will likely do more to damage the fantasy value of those around him (Mirza Teletovic, for starters) than he will offer much of it on his own, but at least we finally got to see him play tonight. That makes two straight games for AK, and he's averaging 6.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 13 minutes thus far.

Thu Jan 2 201413:12Andrei Kirilenko to play 10-12 minutes Thurs
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will play 10-12 minutes on Thursday when the Nets take on the Thunder.
Jason Kidd confirmed AK's minutes restriction after practice and is wisely trying to preserve Kirilenko's health after the 34-year-old missed almost two months of action. While Kirilenko can serve as a stat-stuff for fantasy owners, his productivity will be limited by his minutes restriction and he doesn't deserve to be owned unless he's playing upwards of 20 minutes per game.

Wed Jan 1 201414:30Andrei Kirilenko to get minutes increase
Andrei Kirilenko went through practice on Wednesday and should see a minutes increase on Thursday night at Oklahoma City.
He played 11 minutes on Tuesday night with a line of four points, one board and two assists against the Spurs. Kirilenko's minutes will be monitored for a while and it's going to be tough to pick him up in fantasy leagues because of his perpetual back trouble.

Tue Dec 31 201321:10Andrei Kirilenko scores four points in return
Andrei Kirilenko scored four points with one rebound and two assists against the Spurs in 11 minutes on Tuesday.
It was his first game back since Nov. 8 and he still gave it his all in his return. Kirilenko was diving for loose balls while playing predominately small forward and could see more minutes. It's not too far-fetched to think AK-47 can put up value with the way he can add some blocks and steals, but his lack of durability figure to be his undoing at some point. He's not worth owning in most leagues.

Tue Dec 31 201317:58Kirilenko (back) likely to play 10-12 minutes
Jason Kidd confirmed that Andrei Kirilenko (back) will play on Tuesday, but he's only expected to play 10-12 minutes off the bench.
His return is more momentous for the Nets than fantasy owners, who should avoid Kirilenko at least until his playing time increases. With a chronically ailing back and a reserve role, we're not optimistic about AK's rest-of-season value.

Tue Dec 31 201313:17Andrei Kirilenko probable for Tues vs Spurs
Andrei Kirilenko is probable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Kirilenko hasn't played since November 8th, so there will likely be a minutes restriction on him if he does indeed suit up against San Antonio. While some owners may remember him as a stat-stuffer, AK's best days are behind him and he will need to greatly improve upon his 13.3 minutes per game so far this season if he is to provide any fantasy value at all.

Tue Dec 31 201311:12Andrei Kirilenko (back) could play Tuesday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) believes he's closer to returning and could play against the Spurs Tuesday night.
"It went well. It's getting better every day. So playing for tomorrow, we'll see how it feels in the morning, though, because usually after having a good practice in the morning, that's the main thing," Kirilenko said following a full 5-on-5 practice on Monday. We'll update his status closer to game time, but fantasy owners shouldn't go pouncing on AK just yet as he's only played 13.3 minutes per game this season.

Mon Dec 30 201315:16Andrei Kirilenko could return on Tuesday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) went through a full 5-on-5 practice on Monday and said he could play against the Spurs on Tuesday.
He was only playing 13.3 minutes per game before suffering his usual back spasms. Kirilenko might see a bigger role with the Nets shorthanded up front, but most fantasy owners should be taking a wait-and-see approach.

Sun Dec 29 201309:31Andrei Kirilenko (back) may play Tue or Thurs
Jason Kidd said that Andrei Kirilenko (back) could "potentially" return to action on Tuesday or Thursday.
It's good news that Kirilenko is traveling with the team and his return should buoy Brooklyn's playoff chances, but he belongs on fantasy waiver wires. The veteran SF has been out since Nov. 8 and there are no guarantees that he'll stay healthy once he finally steps on the court.

Sat Dec 28 201316:42Andrei Kirilenko won't play on Saturday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play against the Pacers on Saturday.
He's been out of the lineup since Nov. 8 with his back spasms and doesn't have a timetable to return. Kirilenko said his back pain has been the worst he's ever dealt with, so this probably won't go away even once he's able to make it back to the lineup. Fantasy owners can leave him on the wire despite some of his upside in defensive stats.
