Fri Dec 27 201312:20Andrei Kirilenko out again for Nets
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will miss another game on Friday.
It sounds like he's getting close but still isn't ready to play through his lingering back problems. And when he does play, the clock will be ticking on how long he can actually stay healthy.

Wed Dec 25 201310:47Andrei Kirilenko (back) still out for Nets
Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) will not play in Wednesday's matinee.
The short-handed Nets will stick with their recent starting lineup of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Alan Anderson, Mirza Teletovic and Kevin Garnett, with Paul Pierce coming off the bench. Kirilenko remains day-to-day.

Mon Dec 23 201313:44Andrei Kirilenko will not play on Monday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play on Monday night.
He was hoping to make it back in time fro Christmas, so that's still a possibility. Kirilenko admitted his back spasms are the worst he's ever dealt with in his career, which suggests he will likely have issues in the future this year. AK-47 does have some upside with the Nets banged up, but it's not going to be easy to own him.

Sun Dec 22 201312:31Kirilenko (back) returns to practice Sunday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) returned to practice on Sunday, setting the stage for a possible return on Monday or Wednesday.
Kirilenko hasn't played since Nov. 8 and his minutes may be limited during his first few games, which adds risk to his already murky return date. Even if he doesn't play vs. Indiana on Monday, his imminent return is terrific news for the Nets' frontcourt. Brooklyn ranks 24th in rebounding rate and 28th in defensive efficiency, two areas they hope AK can help shore up.

Thu Dec 19 201313:46Andrei Kirilenko (back) works out Thursday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) was present for non-contact drills during a workout on Thursday.
Kirilenko is doubtful to play against the 76ers on Friday, but could possibly suit up sometime next week. Kirilenko's propensity to miss games is the major reason that fantasy owners need not concern themselves with when he'll play next, but his lack of production (5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season) doesn't bode well for his fantasy prospects even if he were to stay healthy.

Mon Dec 16 201319:08Andrei Kirilenko hoping to practice by Xmas
Andrei Kirilenko (back) said he's hopeful to begin practicing with the team by Christmas.
Kirilenko said his back spasms have been the worst he's ever experienced. He has been out since Nov. 8 and there is no word on when he'll be able to return to the lineup for game action. If when he does eventually make it back, fantasy owners shouldn't be too excited about it given how frequently his back goes out on him.

Sun Dec 15 201310:38Kirilenko (back spasms) shoots around on Sat.
Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) posted a picture of himself shooting on the Nets' practice court on Saturday, but there is still no clear date for his return.
AK said on Friday that he's about "ten days" away from playing, which sets him up for a possible return on Christmas Day. Jason Kidd suggested that AK might be out until January and fantasy owners should simply monitor the situation from a safe distance.

Thu Dec 12 201318:44Andrei Kirilenko (back) out indefinitely
The Nets have "no update" on Andrei Kirilenko (back) and he may not return in December, according to Jason Kidd.
"If [Kirilenko] comes back in 2013, that'd be great," Kidd said. "If he comes back in 2014 that's OK, too." AK's season is rapidly become a disaster for the Nets and fantasy owners alike, and he belongs on the waiver wire until we've seen him on the court.

Thu Dec 5 201311:17Andrei Kirilenko (back) out Thursday vs NYK
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will miss Thursday's game against the Knicks.
Kirilenko is still without a return timetable, but it speaks volumes about his status that the injury-riddled Nets are being cautious with his balky back. Even though the Nets badly need Kirilenko in their lineup now that Paul Pierce is out for at least two weeks, it seems as if they'd like to avoid any long-term setbacks by playing it safe with the 32-year-old. Until he is able to show that he can suit up (and stay healthy), AK-47 isn't worth a spot on any fantasy rosters.

Wed Dec 4 201309:48Andrei Kirilenko's back feels better but he remains without time...
Andrei Kirilenko's back feels better but he remains without a timetable to return.
"We're trying to bring guys back when they are 100 percent, not when they feel good or they're in and out," said Jason Kidd. "That happened with [Kirilenko] once before, so we're going to make sure he's 100 percent." Kirilenko's absence is one reason for the Nets' sluggish start this season, and his return is more crucial than ever with Paul Pierce (hand) on the shelf for up to a month.

Fri Nov 29 201311:55Andrei Kirilenko (back) out Friday vs. Rocket
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play Friday vs. the Rockets.
The Nets could really use AK back, but until he's healthy, he's really not worth holding onto in standard leagues.

Mon Nov 25 201313:46Andrei Kirilenko (back) doesn't practice
Andrei Kirilenko (back) did not practice on Monday.
He was hoping to take contact today, but that did not happen. Kirilenko will likely have back issues throughout the season, so he's not really going to be worth owning in any league until he can indicate he's somewhat healthy. He's unlikely for Tuesday.

Thu Nov 21 201314:20Andrei Kirilenko (back) out Friday & Sunday
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play vs. the Wolves on Friday, but he hopes to begin taking contact on Monday.
This rules him out for Sunday's game vs. the Pistons, also, as he continues to recover after recently having an epidural. His return can't come soon enough for the slumping Nets, who are off to a 3-8 start with Deron Williams hurting and Jason Kidd coming under fire for his somnolent bench demeanor.

Thu Nov 21 201309:51Kirilenko's back injection delaying return
A team source revealed that Andrei Kirilenko (back) had an under-the-radar epidural injection that is delaying his return.
Even though the procedure happened over a week ago, the Nets did a good job of covering it up until now. "It usually takes 10 days to 2 weeks [for recovery] following the injection," Kirilenko said. "Right now it's probably at eight or nine days." Kirilenko has missed the Nets' last six games, but it would sound like he should be able to return to the team soon judging by the timetable in his quote. Unfortunately, this isn't your older brother's AK-47 and he isn't worth any attention in fantasy circles.

Tue Nov 19 201314:33Andrei Kirilenko (back) still not practicing
Andrei Kirilenko (back) sat out Tuesday's practice and said that it will take three or four more days before he's given a "green light" to play.
He's still struggling with the back spasms which have caused him to miss six of Brooklyn's first 10 games. Even when he does return he's not guaranteed more than 10-20 minutes per game, which makes him a shaky-at-best guy to have tucked away on your fantasy bench.

Mon Nov 18 201318:40Andrei Kirilenko will travel with team
Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) will travel with the team this week.
He doesn't have a return date set and his back spasms will likely be an issue all season. Kirilenko has been out of the lineup for his perpetually ailing back, and the Nets will have to manage him all season as a preventative measure.

Mon Nov 18 201312:43Andrei Kirilenko (back) ruled out again Mon.
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play vs. the Blazers on Monday.
Kirilenko is day-to-day but fantasy owners are better off thinking of him as 'out indefinitely' since he's missed five straight games and counting. Even when he played four games in early November, he averaged a mere 13 minutes per game off the bench.

Mon Nov 11 201316:58AK-47 has no timetable to return to lineup
Andrei Kirilenko (back) does not have a timetable to return, according to coach Jason Kidd.
He is listed as day-to-day, but it doesn't sound like he'll be back any time soon. Kirilenko has chronic back issues and he's unlikely to be 100 percent in a very long time. There's very little reason to own him now that his health is on the decline again.

Mon Nov 11 201313:02Andrei Kirilenko (back) doesn't practice Mon.
Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) was the only Nets player who didn't participate in Monday's practice.
Brooklyn doesn't play until Wednesday and it makes sense for AK to rest even if he's feeling better, but this leaves his fantasy owners in a lurch. Given how touchy the injury has been, and the fact that he's yet to play 17 minutes, there should be safer options on the waiver wire this week.
