Sat Apr 12 201416:03Joel Freeland (knee) game-time vs. Warriors
Joel Freeland (knee) is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Warriors.
He's been sidelined since early February and the Blazers would love to work him back into the rotation before the playoffs begin. After two straight days of 4-on-4 work during practice, there's a good chance we'll see him play on Sunday or at least Wednesday's season finale.

Tue Apr 8 201416:50Joel Freeland (MCL) practices fully Tuesday
Joel Freeland went through a contact practice on Tuesday and he's hopeful to return for one of the Blazers' final two regular season games.
"I felt pretty good, I was moving pretty well," Freeland said. He's missed 26 games and will undoubtedly be eased into the rotation, in all likelihood taking a few minutes away from Thomas Robinson.

Thu Mar 13 201415:49Joel Freeland (MCL) targeting playoffs return
Trail Blazers big man Joel Freeland (MCL sprain) doesn't expect to return during the regular season.
Freeland hopes to be healthy in time for the playoffs, so he won't be able to help out while LaMarcus Aldridge recovers from his bruised back. He was averaging a solid 3.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in just 14 minutes per game before hurting himself.

Thu Mar 6 201414:31Joel Freeland (MCL) still out indefinitely
Blazers forward Joel Freeland (sprained MCL) sought a second opinion from a specialist on Tuesday, but he is still "nowhere near returning."
The 27-year-old has been out three weeks and he initially had a 4-8 week timetable, so it's not surprising to hear that he's still out indefinitely. The Blazers hope that he can appear in a few regular season games and enter the playoffs at full strength, which means that he's irrelevant in fantasy leagues.

Wed Feb 12 201403:19Joel Freeland (knee) out 4-8 weeks
Joel Freeland suffered an MCL sprain to his right knee on Tuesday and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks of action.
Robin Lopez sees another boost, while Meyers Leonard should get respectable minutes off the Blazers bench. They're the only NBA team to use the same starting lineup in every game this season, but their bench is becoming a bit thin.

Tue Feb 11 201422:37Joel Freeland suffers right knee injury
Joel Freeland suffered a right knee injury against the Thunder on Tuesday and went to the locker room.
His injury did not look good and he could not put any weight on his right foot while getting help to the locker room. Unfortunately, there's a good chance Freeland is looking at a long time off the court. Meyers Leonard should get more playing time as the backup center.

Sun Dec 15 201321:24Joel Freeland playing through back discomfort
Joel Freeland used heat packs on his back during Sunday's game but he still finished with four points and five rebounds in 14 minutes of action.
Portland's primary backup big man has dealt with back pain for a while now, but he's missed only one game all season (Nov. 5). Terry Stotts' remarkably consistent rotations have limited Freeland to around 12-18 minutes in every game this season, which should help keep any back injuries at bay.

Sat Nov 9 201316:58Joel Freeland (hip) productive in return
Joel Freeland (hip) had four points, four rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 17 minutes during his return to action on Friday.
The second-year PF/C is playing unchallenged minutes behind Robin Lopez, and he's making the most of it. Meyers Leonard, who averaged 17 minutes per game last year, has fallen out of Terry Stotts' rotation thanks in large part to Freeland's emergence.

We went through practice on Thursday and was expected to play. The Blazers could use him as a backup to Robin Lopez against DeMarcus Cousins.

Thu Nov 7 201315:28Joel Freeland (hip) back at practice Thursday
Joel Freeland (hip) practiced on Thursday after being limited for the past few days.
Terry Stotts is once again keeping his bench on a short leash this season, but Freeland is playing 14 minutes per game. Mo Williams and Dorell Wright are the only reserves getting more action, and deep-league owners should keep Freeland in their peripheral vision.

Wed Nov 6 201316:14Joel Freeland does some light work practicing
Joel Freeland (hip) did some light work at practice on Wednesday.
The team held him out of Tuesday's game even after he practiced on Monday, so there's not much to this story. The Blazers were mauled at home by Dwight Howard and even had to play LaMarcus Aldridge at center, so they'd like him back for Friday's game.

Tue Nov 5 201320:24Joel Freeland will sit out vs. Houston Tues.
Joel Freeland (hip) will not play against the Rockets on Tuesday.
He was back at practice on Monday, so it's a mild surprise that the team would hold him out. Meyers Leonard was beat out by Freeland for the backup center spot and will get a chance in the rotation against Dwight Howard and Co.

Mon Nov 4 201315:44Joel Freeland back at practice Monday
Joel Freeland (left hip) was at practice on Monday and is listed as day-to-day.
He sustained a left hip strain on Saturday and it would appear he's escaped any sort of serious injury. Freeland is going to back up Robin Lopez, but he hasn't done much in his two-year career to warrant any sort of consideration in all fantasy leagues while Lopez is healthy.

Sun Nov 3 201301:06Joel Freeland has a left hip strain injury
Joel Freeland suffered a left hip strain on Saturday and is listed as day-to-day.
He lasted just eight minutes on Friday after averaging 17.0 minutes per game in the first two outings. Freeland beat out Meyers Leonard for the backup center spot, but he still doesn't have value in almost any league, especially considering the durability of Robin Lopez.

Fri Oct 25 201301:10Joel Freeland moves up the depth chart?
Joel Freeland looks to have won the No. 2 center spot in Portland's rotation.
He hasn't looked good on offense at all, making just 29.2 percent from the field in his last five games. Freeland is still way off the radar in almost any league.

Mon Oct 14 201315:28Joel Freeland back at practice on Monday
Joel Freeland (finger) was back at practice on Monday.
He received an X-ray on Sunday and since he's already back on the court, Freeland's hand seems to be fine. He didn't have a wrap or anything on the injury and could play on Wednesday.

Sun Oct 13 201316:09Joel Freeland to have X-rays on finger
Joel Freeland will have an X-ray on his right hand to check for a fracture.
He sat out of practice on Sunday and said he's hand has been "throbbing." Freeland provides some depth for the Blazers up front, but he's not likely to play more than his 9.4 minutes per game from last season.

Thu Oct 10 201301:20Freeland (back) active again on Wednesday
Joel Freeland (back) had nine points, five rebounds and one block as the Blazers lost at home to the Suns on Wednesday.
He had four points and five boards in his preseason debut on Monday, and these two lines should guide fantasy owners' expectations for the regular season. He belongs on the waiver wire. At least his back injury isn't serious.

Wed Oct 9 201314:47Joel Freeland questionable for Wednesday
Joel Freeland (back), LaMarcus Aldridge (quad) and Mo Williams (ankle) are all questionable for Wednesday's preseason game against the Suns.
Nicolas Batum (concussion), C.J. McCollum (foot) and Earl Watson (calf) have all been ruled out with their injuries.
