Fri Apr 12 201308:35Kenyon Martin without a timetable for return
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will not play Friday against the Cavs and does not have a timetable for his return.
Martin's status is day-to-day, but that's a meaningless designation when dealing with injuries in New York. His status is very much up in the air for Sunday against the Pacers and Monday against the Bobcats, and with Tyson Chandler (neck) also without a timetable, Chris Copeland and Steve Novak are locked into extended minutes in a small-ball lineup.

Wed Apr 10 201313:07Kenyon Martin will not play on Thursday night
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will not play on Thursday against Chicago.
We don't know the extent of Martin's ankle injury, and although X-rays were negative, he's already been ruled out of Thursday's game vs. the Bulls. Chris Copeland and Steve Novak will see extra minutes for a small-ball Knicks lineup.

Tue Apr 9 201321:41Kenyon Martin suffers ankle injury vs. WAS
Kenyon Martin went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's game with an apparent left ankle injury.
He was in pain and pounded the floor multiple times just after sustaining the injury. Given Martin's age and his propensity to be hurt, there's a good chance that he misses some time. The Knicks are running out of bodies tonight and they are playing Chris Copeland at center.

Tue Apr 9 201318:13Kenyon Martin will play 20-25 minutes
Kenyon Martin (knee) will play and start Tuesday's game against the Wizards.
Martin returns after a two-game absence, but he'll be on a 20-25 minute limit thanks to his sore left knee. Streamers should keep expectations in check even though Tyson Chandler is resting.

Tue Apr 9 201310:25Kenyon Martin (knee) doubtful vs. Wiz Tuesday
Kenyon Martin (knee) is questionable to play against Washington on Tuesday.
K-Mart could wind up missing his third straight game and is still considered day-to-day. If Martin isn't available, the Knicks will utilize a small lineup with Tyson Chandler (bulging disc) listed as doubtful.

Mon Apr 8 201316:22Kenyon Martin (knee) still has no timetable
Kenyon Martin (knee) remains day-to-day but there is no timetable for his return.
K-Mart's checkup on Monday didn't resolve his outlook for the week ahead, and this report sums up the uselessness of the 'day-to-day' tag. Marcus Camby (foot) is among the Knicks' big men who won't return until at least the start of the playoffs, which leaves Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Copeland to hold down the frontcourt for the small-ball Knicks.

Mon Apr 8 201309:32Kenyon Martin's knee to be examined Monday
Kenyon Martin will have his sore knee examined by the team physician on Monday and hopes to return on Tuesday.
If the doctor prescribes more rest, Martin obviously won't play on Tuesday against the Wizards as previously hoped. Martin's knee soreness comes as expected after not having training camp and being forced into heavy minutes when Tyson Chandler's neck was hurting, but the Knicks won't rush him as they can't afford to lose him for an extended period of time.

Sun Apr 7 201312:55K-Mart, Camby both out again vs. Thunder
Kenyon Martin (knee) won't play on Sunday but he is aiming to return vs. the Wizards on Tuesday.
K-Mart described his absence as "precautionary." With Marcus Camby (foot) also on the shelf, New York will try to win their 11th straight game behind Tyson Chandler at C, Carmelo Anthony at PF and Chris Copeland serving as frontcourt depth off the bench.

Fri Apr 5 201310:17Kenyon Martin 'probably' out on Friday night
Kenyon Martin (knee) "probably" will not play on Friday against the Bucks.
The Knicks have relied on Martin for production down low, and his absence will be especially problematic if Tyson Chandler (neck) is also forced to sit. With Martin expected to be out, the Knicks could brush the dust off of Marcus Camby and/or give extended minutes to guys like Steve Novak and Chris Copeland.

Thu Apr 4 201315:23Kenyon Martin officially questionable Friday
The Knicks are calling Kenyon Martin (sore knee) "questionable" for Friday's game against the Bucks.
This is basically the written equivalent of what we already knew. Martin left Wednesday's game after banging his knee, which is the second game this week he's left due to injury. Coach Mike Woodson said Thursday that he thinks Martin will be "fine," but it sounds like K-Mart might still sit out Friday. We should know something more after shootaround tomorrow.

Thu Apr 4 201314:27Mike Woodson thinks Kenyon Martin will be OK
Mike Woodson said on New York radio Thursday he thinks Kenyon Martin (knee) will be "fine."
Martin left Wednesday's game after he "banged" the knee during the game. Woodson says the Knicks kept him out as a precaution, but it's the second time this week Martin's been pulled from a game early due to an injury. It's tough to take the Knicks at their word on injuries given their history this season. Martin's status for Friday's game against Bucks in uncertain and it's possible New York could be without Martin and Tyson Chandler (neck) against Milwaukee.

Thu Apr 4 201309:03Kenyon Martin not a lock to play on Friday
Kenyon Martin (knee) could sit out Friday's game against the Bucks.
Mike Woodson said Martin stayed out of the game as a precaution after being lifted, but this is the second time this week K-Mart has been forced out with an injury. "It got the best of me today," he said. "I'll have a day off, get treatment and see how it goes," Martin said. The Knicks could be without both Martin and Tyson Chandler (neck) on Friday.

Wed Apr 3 201321:58Kenyon Martin (knee) held out as precaution
Kenyon Martin left Wednesday's game with a sore right knee, but Mike Woodson said that he held him out as a precaution.
Martin simply "banged" his knee, but we'll keep a close eye on the oft-injured PF as the Knicks head toward their next game Friday vs. the Bucks.

Tue Apr 2 201323:21Kenyon Martin plays 24 minutes vs. Miami
Kenyon Martin came off the bench on Tuesday and had nine points, six boards and one steal in 24 minutes against the Heat.
He had been starting with Tyson Chandler out of the lineup and he moved back into a reserve role tonight. Chandler still isn't at 100 percent, but since the Knicks next two games come on very busy nights, there's very little reason to hold K-Mart in almost all leagues.

Mon Apr 1 201308:57Kenyon Martin could have returned Sunday
Kenyon Martin (abdomen) and Mike Woodson both said Martin could have returned to the game if needed in the fourth quarter of Sunday's blowout.
Martin took the time to rest, and after leaving the first half of Sunday's game with an injury, he returned to start the second half before coming out for good. We're going to mark him as sidelined as his strained abdominal muscle could feel differently on Monday, but Martin seemed confident he wouldn't miss any time.

Sun Mar 31 201320:46Kenyon Martin (strained abs) iffy to return
Kenyon Martin left Sunday's game with a strained abdominal muscle and he is questionable to return.
The last thing the Knicks need is another veteran big man on the injury report. If he misses any games, Chris Copeland and Steve Novak will play more minutes as the Knicks turn by default to ever-smaller lineups.

Thu Mar 28 201314:07Mike Woodson considering starting big lineup
Knicks coach Mike Woodson said on New York radio Thursday that he's considering starting Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin and Tyson Chandler against teams like Indiana.
This, of course, is contingent on Chandler (neck) being healthy, which still appears to be a little ways away. Martin has been pretty solid as a starter, averaging 10.8, 6.4 rebounds and almost one block and one steal per game in eight starts. While we expect Chandler to be the primary center, Martin should remain viable in most leagues as long as he gets the occasional start along with his usual compliment of 27 to 30 minutes.

Tue Mar 26 201322:05Kenyon Martin disappears in win
Kenyon Martin played 25 minutes to finish with nine points, five rebounds and a block in Tuesday's win over the Celtics.
This was not what his owners were looking for after his 18-point explosion on Saturday. He has three more games this week to get it turned around, but J.R. Smith and Carmelo Anthony took a ton of shots tonight, and certainly weren't looking to pass the ball K-Mart's way. He should be better than this on most nights.

Sat Mar 23 201322:23Kenyon Martin scores 18 points in win vs. TOR
Kenyon Martin had 18 points, seven rebounds, one steal and two blocks in a spirited effort vs. the Raptors on Saturday.
K-Mart started at center with Tyson Chandler (neck) still unavailable. He looked surprisingly spry while making 7-of-11 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs in 27 minutes, and he's playing well enough to be a speculative add until Chandler returns.
