Sat Mar 23 201319:29Kenyon Martin will go back to the bench
Kenyon Martin will return to a bench role once Tyson Chandler (neck) can return.
This is an expected move and he's been moved into the starting lineup out of pure necessity. K-Mart is more of a short-term asset, but he'll put up numbers worthy of standard-league ownership while Chandler is on the shelf.

Fri Mar 22 201321:36Kenyon Martin scores 19 points in win Friday
Kenyon Martin shot 9-of-10 from the field for 19 points with 11 boards, two steals and one block in 36 minutes.
Tyson Chandler could miss a few more games and the 36 minutes are certainly eye-catching. Martin played 29.5 minutes per game in his previous four, so he's certainly in the standard-league discussion as a short-term pickup.

Tue Mar 19 201301:58Martin nears double-double in start at center
Kenyon Martin started at center with Tyson Chandler (neck) out on Monday against the Jazz, scoring nine points on 4-of-6 shooting with nine rebounds, one steal and one block in 21 minutes.
Martin is a serviceable, albeit desperate solution for owners needing big man help and it's possible that Tyson Chandler's return hits Chris Copeland more than it does Martin.

Sun Mar 17 201318:28Kenyon Martin struggles w/ fouls vs. Clippers
Kenyon Martin struggled with foul trouble in Sunday's lopsided loss, finishing with four points, nine rebounds, three assists and one block.
His lone post-up attempt in the first quarter resulted in a laughable turnaround jumper, and a few quick fouls ensured that he'd have a quiet game. K-Mart should stick in the rotation, given the Knicks' injury woes, but he's a risky option with Tyson Chandler day-to-day.

Fri Mar 15 201317:27Knicks sign Kenyon Martin for rest of season
The Knicks officially signed Kenyon Martin for the remainder of the season Friday.
Martin, who left Thursday's game in the fourth quarter with minor shin soreness, figures to be a key part of the Knicks' frontcourt rotation the rest of the way. Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler are all dealing with knee injuries of varying severity and could all be limited the rest of this season. Martin, whose value depends on the injuries in front of him, is a decent plug-and-play option Sunday if Chandler is unable to go.

Fri Mar 15 201315:21Kenyon Martin left game early with sore shin
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Kenyon Martin departed Thursday's game with shin soreness.
Martin left the game in the fourth quarter for unclear reasons but this is obviously no reason to be concerned. The Knicks are expected to sign Martin for the rest of the season with their starting frontcourt all suffering from knee injuries. Martin could be a palatable plug-and-play option Sunday if Tyson Chandler is unable to go.

The Knicks are expected to sign Kenyon Martin for the remainder of the season.
With Tyson Chandler (knee), Amare Stoudemire (knee) and Carmelo Anthony (knee) all dealing with injuries, this should be obvious.

Fri Mar 15 201301:10Kenyon Martin goes to the locker room early
Kenyon Martin went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Thursday's game.
The game was decided with the Blazers punishing the Knicks and he may have just got a headstart on his post-game treatment. Martin played very well in 31 minutes, scoring 12 points with four boards, one steal and one block. He'll be a possible plug-and-play option on Sunday with Tyson Chandler's status in doubt.

Kenyon Martin will make his first start of the year against the Blazers on Thursday.
He'll join Kurt Thomas, Chris Copeland, Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert in the starting unit. Martin will get a chance to have his first impact game while Shumpert and Chris Copeland figure to get a major role tonight.

Thu Mar 14 201302:43Kenyon Martin plays well in ugly loss
Kenyon Martin had five points, four rebounds, one assist, two steals and four blocks on 2-of-5 shooting in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Not bad for a guy who wasn't even in the league for most of the season. And with Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony out until further notice for the Knicks, Martin is going to start getting more minutes than his body may be able to handle. If you're desperate for warm bodies as injuries mount, Martin could pay off if he can stay healthy going forward.

Sat Mar 9 201322:08Kenyon Martin solid in 22 bench minutes
Kenyon Martin had 10 points, six rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes off the bench on Saturday, playing a bigger role with Amare Stoudemire (knee) unavailable.
Amare is expected to miss six weeks, which opens the door wide open for K-Mart. Unfortunately for fantasy purposes, K-Mart's health is a perpetual concern and he's unlikely to contribute more than a handful of rebounds, steals and blocks, while bricking most of his free throws (a career 63.3 percent shooter, he was 2-of-2 from the stripe tonight).

Mon Mar 4 201310:51Kenyon Martin expected to be kept for season
Kenyon Martin, who is expected to sign a second 10-day contract on Tuesday, is likely to remain with the Knicks for the rest of the season.
With Rasheed Wallace (foot) all but certain to be out for the season and Marcus Camby's unpredictable health, Martin shouldn't have much difficulty sticking around. GM Glen Grunwald said that he hoped to sign Martin for the remainder of the season after his second 10-day deal was up.

Thu Feb 28 201309:17Kenyon Martin humbled by lack of interest
Kenyon Martin admitted he was "humbled" after he couldn't find a job until the Knicks recently signed him.
"It was something that was unexpected, of course, took the time to get my mind around it. I went through every emotion -- mad, sad, upset, confused. You name it, I went through it." Teams reportedly avoided Martin for his perceived attitude issues, and he'll have a chance to prove he's a team player now that he's with the Knicks. Although he's on a 10-day deal, it'd be a surprise if he didn't stick around for the season with Rasheed Wallace needing foot surgery.

Tue Feb 26 201308:17Kenyon Martin could make debut on Wednesday
Kenyon Martin could make his Knicks debut on Wednesday against the Warriors.
However, Mike Woodson admitted that Martin's minutes would likely come in garbage time if he does play against Golden State. "We're just trying to get him up to speed," Woodson said. "That's still going to take some time because he just hasn't been around basketball."

Thu Feb 21 201315:50Knicks may go after Kenyon Martin
The Knicks may pursue Kenyon Martin, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.
The move makes sense with Ronnie Brewer departing and opening up a spot on the New York roster. Miami is also looking into bringing K-Mart on, so the Knicks have some competition. There's no reason to stash him in almost any format.

Thu Feb 21 201314:09The Heat looking at FA Kenyon Martin
Miami is in contact with Kenyon Martin and could sign him after March 1.
X-rays were negative on Chris Andersen's right foot and he was diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain Wednesday night, so this move may have something to do with that news. The Heat are playing terrific ball and K-Mart wouldn't really offer anything outside of depth, so there's really no reason to grab him speculatively in all but the deepest of leagues.

Even with Jared Sullinger (back) out for the season, league sources told CSNNE that the Celtics do not have interest in signing free agent Kenyon Martin.
Martin's name has been connected to the Celtics at different points throughout the year, but it does not appear Boston has any interest in bringing him aboard.

Tue Jan 8 201318:24Report: Knicks showing interest in Kenyon
Sources tell Yahoo! Sports that the Knicks are showing interest in free agent PF Kenyon Martin.
Rasheed Wallace's foot injury continues to linger, so the Knicks are looking for another washed up defensive specialist. Martin has been on the street all season even though he's let it be known he'll play for the veteran minimum.
