Thu Jan 9 201418:48Kenyon Martin (illness) starting vs. Miami
Kenyon Martin (illness) will be in New York's starting lineup on Thursday.
He wasn't at shootaround but hopefully he's feeling much better, since he'll be tasked with slowing down LeBron James at times during Thursday's game, and the Knicks are already without Tyson Chandler (upper respiratory infection).

Wed Jan 8 201412:51Kenyon Martin iffy on Thursday due to illness
Kenyon Martin (illness) is questionable to play vs. the visiting Heat on Thursday.
K-Mart had six points, seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks in 30 minutes as the Knicks' starting PF on Tuesday. It was among his best games of the season, so it's only natural that he might follow it up with a DNP.

Wed Jan 8 201400:28Kenyon Martin plays well in win over DET
Kenyon Martin played 30 minutes and had six points, seven rebounds, five assists, a steal and two blocks on 2-of-4 shooting in Tuesday's win.
He's too injury prone and inconsistent to be relied upon in fantasy, but as long as he's healthy and starting for the Knicks, he might be worth a spot start from time to time.

Sun Jan 5 201422:11Kenyon Martin (ankle) scores 14 pts in return
Kenyon Martin (ankle) scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting off New York's bench on Sunday, adding six rebounds, two assists and one block in 29 minutes.
He stepped up in a big way for the Knicks, who lost Tyson Chandler early but were able to hang on for a 92-80 road win in Dallas. This was K-Mart's second-highest playing time all season and he's a perpetual DNP risk, so don't read too much into this nice game.

Sun Jan 5 201411:33Kenyon Martin (ankle) game-time on Sunday
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
The Knicks take on the Mavericks in Dallas, and they may do it without K-Mart thanks to his chronically sore ankle. He could return to the lineup for Tuesday's home game but we're not holding our breath.

Fri Jan 3 201420:05Kenyon Martin (ankle) won't dress Friday
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will not dress against the Rockets on Friday.
He played 14 minutes in Thursday's win over the Spurs, scoring four points on 2-of-6 shooting. Martin hasn't missed a game since Dec. 23, so it was only a matter of time.

Sat Dec 28 201323:28Kenyon Martin asks to come out of game
Kenyon Martin asked out of Saturday's 115-100 loss to the Raptors due to injury.
This isn't exactly big news and Martin remains one of the most fragile players in the NBA. He finished with two points, four boards and one steal in 20 minutes. Fantasy owners can keep him on the wire in most leagues.

Wed Dec 25 201318:33Kenyon Martin doesn't score in 13 minutes
Kenyon Martin (abdomen) did not score in just 13 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.
He returned from a five-game absence and has missed a total of eight games this year. Martin won't be asked to play much more than his current 19.5 minutes-per-game average and is not worth owning in almost any league.

Wed Dec 25 201312:58Kenyon Martin (abdomen) will play Wednesday
Kenyon Martin (strained abdomen) will play on Wednesday, and he may start if Carmelo Anthony (ankle) is unavailable.
Melo remains a game-time decision. While K-Mart's return is great news for the Knicks, particularly on defense, which is where he derives what little fantasy value he still has. In 11 starts this season, the oft-injured veteran is averaging 4.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks.

Wed Dec 25 201309:18Kenyon Martin sounds likely for Christmas
Kenyon Martin, if he feels good on Wednesday morning, is expected to play for the Knicks on Wednesday after missing five games with an abdominal strain.
This would be a quick return for K-Mart, who is much needed with Metta World Peace's knee issues. However, keeping Martin healthy is another tough task and we're guessing his minutes will be pretty limited if he does suit up on Christmas Day.

Tue Dec 24 201313:41Kenyon Martin questionable for Christmas Day
Kenyon Martin (abdomen) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
Martin had been ruled out until early-January, but it is possible he could beat that timeline with a return on Christmas Day. If Martin doesn't play on Wednesday, Amare Stoudemire would likely see an uptick in minutes.

Tue Dec 17 201317:03Kenyon Martin (abdomen) out two weeks minimum
An MRI confirmed that Kenyon Martin has a strained abdomen, and the Knicks have ruled him out for at least two weeks.
K-Mart will miss the Knicks' remaining six games in December and could return to action during a back-to-back set which begins Jan. 2. His absence, combined with Amare Stoudemire's ailing knees, makes Tyson Chandler's imminent return even more crucial for the Knicks. New York's 7-17 record has them three games out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Mon Dec 16 201317:53Kenyon Martin (abdomen) out 'a while'
Kenyon Martin (abdominal strain) could be out "a while" and won't play on Monday, according to coach Mike Woodson.
He missed Saturday's game after what looked to be a very bad injury on Friday. Martin could barely walk to the locker room and was in a lot of pain after sustaining the strain. In his absence, the Knicks went with a little more Amare Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani in their rotation against the Hawks. They've been playing Amare in back-to-back sets, but it's unclear if that trend will continue since they'd really be playing with fire. Martin isn't worth owning in most leagues.

Sat Dec 14 201317:59Kenyon Martin (abdomen) may miss a few games
Kenyon Martin (strained abdomen) won't play on Saturday and he could miss multiple games, according to Mike Woodson.
On the plus side, Amare Stoudemire will be available on Saturday, the second game of a back-to-back set. K-Mart wasn't doing anything to help fantasy owners as a starter anyway, and his chronic ankle problems will be a background concern all season. If you were holding him in a deep league, this should be your cue to cut him.

Fri Dec 13 201321:30Kenyon Martin goes to the locker room
Kenyon Martin limped to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against the Celtics.
He was walking back extremely gingerly and it might have been a hip or groin issue. We'll provide an update as soon as the team updates his status.

Wed Dec 11 201323:47Kenyon Martin blocks four shots in win
Kenyon Martin played 35 minutes against the Bulls on Wednesday and had three points, seven boards, two assists, one steal, two steals and four blocks.
He missed two games with an ankle injury and he hardly looked 100 percent in this game. The Knicks all the inside help they can get, but Martin's probably going to be feeling it tomorrow. He almost doubled his 35.4 minutes-per-game average tonight and this game wasn't convincing enough to add him in most leagues.

Wed Dec 11 201309:31Kenyon Martin (ankle) likely to play vs. CHI
Kenyon Martin (ankle) is expected to return to action vs. Chicago on Wednesday.
His return will likely shift Metta World Peace back to the bench. K-Mart and the Knicks will have an easier time if Joakim Noah (thigh) can't suit up, but from a fantasy perspective there's not much to like about Martin, MWP and Amare Stoudemire.

Tue Dec 10 201317:45Kenyon Martin (ankle) won't play vs. Cavs
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game vs. the Cavs.
His absence will shift Metta World Peace into the starting lineup, alongside Andre Bargnani, Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton. In addition, rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. figures to pick up extra minutes off the bench as the Knicks will be forced to play small-ball early and often.

Tue Dec 10 201310:16Kenyon Martin (ankle) game-time for Tuesday
Kenyon Martin (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers.
While his minutes have been up lately (24.0 over his last 10 games), Martin still isn't making much of a dent in the stat sheet. The more interesting fantasy ramification of Martin potentially sitting would be Tim Hardaway, Jr. likely seeing more minutes. The rookie out of Michigan has been averaging 14.0 points per game in December and could be a sneaky spot-start if Martin misses Tuesday's game.
