Sun Dec 8 201310:40Kenyon Martin (ankle) unavailable vs. Boston
Kenyon Martin (sore ankle) is unavailable on Sunday, so Mike Woodson will shift rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. into the starting lineup.
Martin has chronically sore ankles and his absence is not a surprising development. He shouldn't be in any fantasy lineups. Amare Stoudemire and Metta World Peace should also pick up a few extra minutes off the bench.

Thu Dec 5 201311:33Kenyon Martin to start again for Knicks Thurs
Kenyon Martin will again be in the starting lineup when the Knicks face the Nets on Thursday.
Don't be fooled into thinking that Martin's status as a real-life starter means that he should be a fantasy starter. Martin is still only averaging 20.8 minutes over his last five games, has yet to record a double-digit rebound game all season, and is only averaging 0.6 blocks per game. For a player whose main value comes from rebounds and blocks, those are some tough numbers to swallow.

Sun Dec 1 201323:04K-Mart struggles as Knicks' slide continues
Kenyon Martin went scoreless in another start at PF on Sunday, but he did chip in three rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks in just 17 minutes.
K-Mart and Amare Stoudemire (14 minutes) are best avoided in all formats. The Knicks have been squabbling with one another, the media has been speculating about Mike Woodson's job security, and New York's seven straight losses at MSG ties the worst single-season home losing streak in team history. Their 3-13 record also ties them with Milwaukee for the worst record in the Eastern Conference, the summation of a thoroughly bleak start to the 2013-14 season.

Thu Nov 28 201303:00Martin posts balanced line in loss
Kenyon Martin posted a balanced, low-end line of six points on 3-of-3 shooting with seven rebounds, five assists and one steal over 24 minutes on Friday against the Clippers.
Martin was a +17 on the night and was the only player for the Knicks to truly look in sync. His durability is a massive issue and there's no guarantee that he can produce the way he has over the past few games, but if you're in need of a big man give him a look, particularly in deeper formats.

Tue Nov 26 201302:41Martin posts low-end line in start
Kenyon Martin scored 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting with five rebounds, six assists and one steal over 24 minutes on Monday.
Martin has played at a 16-team level in 9-cat leagues over the past two weeks, and a 20-team level in 8-cat formats. You'd have to be in a massive format to take a chance on those numbers given his durability issues.

Thu Nov 21 201302:32Kenyon Martin plays 38 minutes in OT loss
Kenyon Martin made another start for the Knicks and had six points, nine rebounds, a steal and two blocks on 3-of-8 shooting.
That makes five straight games played for Martin and he's gone for 38 and 29 minutes in his last two. And all that tells us is that he's due to get some rest at some point in the near future.

Tue Nov 19 201322:37Kenyon Martin starts for Knicks
Kenyon Martin started for the Knicks and hit 1-of-2 shots for five points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block in Tuesday's ugly loss to the Pistons.
If you're in a very deep league and simply need a warm body, feel free to grab K-Mart.

Tue Nov 19 201318:11Kenyon Martin will start for Knicks Tuesday
Kenyon Martin will start on Tuesday, as expected, shifting J.R. Smith to the bench.
K-Mart's medical restrictions have been lifted, but that doesn't mean he'll suddenly play 30+ minutes as a starter. If you're interested in a trickle of points and rebounds, with the occasional steal and block, give him a look in deeper formats.

Mon Nov 18 201312:54Woodson hints Kenyon Martin may start for NYK
Mike Woodson hinted on Monday that he might shift Kenyon Martin into the Knicks' starting lineup.
The Knicks are giving up 104.2 points over their past five games, they have a 3-6 record, and Woodson is looking for ways to infuse his lineup with some energy and passion. K-Mart was recently cleared to play in consecutive games despite his chronically ailing ankles, but he's only worth a look for owners in desperate need of a big man. It's unclear who would be benched to clear a spot for Martin if he does start, but Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith are the most likely candidates.

Fri Nov 15 201309:38Kenyon Martin now cleared for back-to-backs
Kenyon Martin has had his medical watch lifted and played in back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday.
It really doesn't matter in fantasy, as Martin isn't getting enough minutes to make much of a difference. But he's at least worth keeping an eye on in case he is in good enough shape to start getting more run. He played 16 minutes against Atlanta and then 10 minutes against the Rockets on Thursday.

Wed Nov 6 201314:40Kenyon Martin is sore after Tuesday
Coach Mike Woodson said Kenyon Martin was sore after his 18 minutes of action on Tuesday.
The Knicks were planning on sitting Martin, but the injury to Tyson Chandler forced them to play K-Mart 18 of the 24 second-half minutes. Martin played 25.7 minutes per game in March of last year, so that should serve as his ceiling. It's not going to be easy to pick him up since he's more of a platoon guy.

Tue Nov 5 201321:08Kenyon Martin is playing on Tuesday
Updating a previous item, Kenyon Martin is playing on Tuesday.
The Knicks must have kept him on the active roster and have now been forced to play K-Mart due to Tyson Chandler suffering a knee injury. He wasn't too shabby last year at center, so he could find himself getting minutes for the desperate Knicks.

Tue Nov 5 201319:36Kenyon Martin sitting out on Tuesday
Kenyon Martin will not play against the Bobcats on Tuesday.
The Knicks are basically playing tag-team wresting with K-Mart and Amare Stoudemire. Martin played a season-high 16 minutes on Sunday and he'll have a tough time playing even 20 minutes over a consecutive two-game span.

Wed Oct 30 201318:01Kenyon Martin in, Amare Stoudemire out for NY
Kenyon Martin will play through his ankle injury on Wednesday, while Amare Stoudemire will miss the game against the Bucks.
Stoudemire is expected to play on Thursday against the Bulls, while it's unknown if Martin will play in that one. Either way, neither one should be on your fantasy team.

Fri Oct 25 201323:05Kenyon Martin makes debut for Knicks
Kenyon Martin made his preseason debut on Friday and played nine minutes, finishing with two points, one rebound and one block.
Like teammate Amare Stoudemire, there's simply no reason to give Martin and his balky knees the time of day at your fantasy draft.

Fri Oct 25 201309:45Kenyon Martin could play on Friday
Kenyon Martin, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, could make his preseason debut on Friday.
It sounds like Mike Woodson plans on playing his injured Knicks at least a few minutes tonight, including Martin, Amare Stoudemire (knee), J.R. Smith (knee) and Raymond Felton (hamstring). It's hard to imagine Martin getting enough run this season to be a fantasy asset, so just keep an eye on his progress throughout the season.

Tue Oct 22 201309:50Kenyon Martin ready to play in season opener
Kenyon Martin disagrees with the "questionable" label that has been assigned to him for the Knicks' season opener.
Head coach Mike Woodson recently called Kenyon Martin questionable for the season opener and that's an assessment that the power forward just doesn't agree with. Said Martin, "I'm ready to rock. It's all on Woody when he wants to throw me out there. So whether it's one of the last preseason games or not, but definitely on the 30th I'm going to push that much harder to play. I'm not questionable." A player doesn't decide whether or not he plays, but it sounds as if Martin will try to fight his way into the Knicks lineup for the season opener against the Bucks on October 30th. Whether he plays in the season opener or not, the 35-year-old likely won't be a viable fantasy option this season and shouldn't be targeted in anything but the deepest of leagues.

Mon Oct 21 201312:20Kenyon Martin (ankle) may have minute-limit
Kenyon Martin (ankle) said that the Knicks have a "plan in place" regarding his playing time this season, but he wouldn't divulge any details.
The "plan" is a limit on his playing time, and this comes as no surprise since Mike Woodson has already discussed ways to keep K-Mart fresh for the playoffs. Martin is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered at the end of last season and his status for New York's season opener is up in the air, though he said he will "press the issue about playing in the regular season." There are better, healthier big men to target in the final rounds of fantasy drafts.

Tue Oct 15 201314:16Kenyon Martin (ankle) pulled out of practice
Coach Mike Woodson pulled Kenyon Martin (ankle) out of practice as a precaution on Tuesday.
It's the same foot injury that bothered him in April, but it's not considered serious. Although, Martin has been sidelined quite a bit in recent years, so this is not a good sign he'll be able to play more than the 23.9 minutes per game from last year.

Mon Oct 14 201313:49Kenyon Martin has ice pack on ankle
Kenyon Martin had an ice pack on his left ankle at practice on Monday.
It's probably nothing, but give his previous foot injuries throughout his career, it's worth bringing up. Martin will be in the rotation for the Knicks since Amare Stoudemire's knee has kept him out of practice.
