Tue Feb 15 201113:51James could play on Wednesday
Coach Avery Johnson said there is a 20 percent chance Damion James (foot) could make his return Wednesday.
James would play in two five-minute spurts if he is able to go. However, the rookie is expected to take the starting small forward job from Travis Outlaw as soon as he is at full strength. The two project to cancel each other out.

Fri Feb 11 201112:31Damion James (foot) expected back Wed.
Nets rookie Damion James (broken foot) is expected to fully practice on Tuesday, with the intention of playing on Wednesday.
James is expected to take over starting SF duties from Travis Outlaw, who has (perhaps unsurprisingly) failed to live up to the big contract the Nets gave him last summer. Keep an eye on James but don't bother picking him off the waiver wire.

Wed Feb 9 201113:38Nets' James may return before All-Star break
Damion James (foot) is hoping to return next Wednesday, in the Nets' last game before the All-Star break.
James is expected to start at small forward once he's back, sending Travis Outlaw back to the bench. Regardless of who's starting, the Nets haven't gotten much production at the position this season, and it's a situation to avoid outside of deeper leagues.

Sat Feb 5 201110:29Damion James to replace Travis Outlaw
Nets forward Damion James (foot) will start at SF once he's healthy, in place of Travis Outlaw.
James is shooting 35% from the field and 61% from the FT line this season, so fantasy owners have plenty of reasons for skepticism. He is targeting a return just before the All-Star break.

Nets rookie Damion James (foot) is on track to return for the final game before the All-star break.

Damion James (broken foot) could return to action on Feb. 14.
The Nets have also reportedly considered sending James to the D-League for a two-game tuneup. James had been carving out a role in the Nets' rotation prior to his injury, so owners in deeper leagues will want to keep an eye on his return.

Mon Dec 13 201015:31Damion James to miss 6-8 weeks

Mon Dec 13 201006:19Damion James (foot) will have surgery Monday
Nets rookie Damion James will have surgery on Monday to repair his broken right foot.
James had just assumed starting duties when he was injured, opening up more opportunities for Quinton Ross, Travis Outlaw, and Terrence Williams. A timetable should be available after the surgery.
Sun Dec 12 201013:27Damion James to have right foot surgery
According to Marv Albert on the game broadcast, rookie Damion James will have right foot surgery on Monday and will be out indefinitely.
Quinton Ross started on Sunday for defensive reasons, but it's possible that Avery Johnson could go back to Travis Outlaw or give Terrence Williams a shot at the small forward job going forward. Stay tuned.
Sun Dec 12 201012:08Report: Damion James breaks foot
Nets rookie Damion James has reportedly suffered a broken foot.
No timetable has been set as details have yet to emerge. And while it's awful news for James, it is likely the reason that Quinton Ross is expected to start against the Lakers on Sunday, while it's good news for the owners of Terrence Williams. If Williams can't start getting meaningful minutes from Avery Johnson in the next week, it may not happen.

Sat Dec 11 201015:19Damion James iffy for Sunday's game
Damion James is questionable to play on Sunday due to a foot injury -- if he can't suit up, either Quinton Ross or Stephen Graham would be likely to start for NJ.
Interestingly, Avery Johnson would rather keep Travis Outlaw in a bench role than temporarily shuffle him back into the starting five. James has had X-rays taken of his foot but the results are not yet in.

Thu Dec 9 201023:09Rookie James unproductive in start
Rookie Damion James started and played 23 minutes Thursday versus the Mavericks, scoring four points on 2-of-3 shooting with one rebound, one assist, one steal and three turnovers.
Taking Travis Outlaw's place in the starting five, James made his first career start. Don't jump the gun though; Terrence Williams is the more talented player by a wide margin and should eventually seize the starting gig if he can keep his head from screwing loose. For now, just keep James on your watch list, as he's likely to be just a low-end producer even if he somehow manages to stick in the starting lineup. The aforementioned Williams notched six points on 3-of-8 shooting with two rebounds, four assists, two steals and three turnovers.
Thu Dec 9 201013:20Damion James replaces Outlaw as starting SF
Damion James will start in place of Travis Outlaw in Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
This sounds like a permanent move, although we suspect that James might simply be keeping the seat warm for Terrence Williams. James is a hard-working rookie that defends and plays the game the right way. But he isn't talented enough to be worth much more than a speculative add in deep leagues. If Williams can be on time and play hard for a week or two, this starting small forward job could be his. And that would be a fantasy bonanza.

Wed Dec 8 201017:06Nets lineup change coming; D. James to start?
Avery Johnson said on Wednesday that the Nets will have a lineup change for Thursday's game, and Damion James is one candidate to join the starting five.
Beat writer Al Iannazzone believes that Travis Outlaw is likely headed to the bench, with James potentially replacing him. James would be worth a look in deeper formats if that's the case, but starting wouldn't necessarily guarantee him big minutes in Avery's rotation.

Tue Dec 7 201023:12James gets 19 minutes for Avery
Damion James got 19 minutes of run off the bench in Tuesday's game, scoring 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
He has made the rotation for the last nine games, and this is his best performance to date. He doesn't do any one thing too well, but is a hard working anti-Williams. That, of course, refers to Terrance Williams, who did not play tonight and is likely being 'motivated' by Avery Johnson via James.
