Sat Dec 22 201221:56Kevin Seraphin quiet off Wizards' bench
Kevin Seraphin scored just six points with three rebounds off the Wizards' bench on Saturday, playing 18 minutes behind Emeka Okafor and Nene.
Seraphin has failed to take advantage of Nene's injury woes and the Wizards' general ineptitude, and in six starts this season he's shooting under 40 percent from the field. It's also worth noting that he attempted just 17 free throws through 23 games, which shows his tendency to settle for shots and shy away from aggressive moves and contact in the paint. Despite all his upside, owners may have no choice but to cut him loose.

Sat Dec 22 201218:35Kevin Seraphin goes back to the bench
Kevin Seraphin will come off the bench on Saturday.
Seraphin had a rough outing on Friday and he rarely seems to be in Randy Wittman's good graces. He has been able to produce off the bench, so his owners should stick with him and his nice upside.

Fri Dec 21 201223:49Seraphin goes for 10 and six vs. Pistons
Kevin Seraphin scored 10 points on 5-of-18 shooting with six rebounds and one block in 30 minutes on Friday against the Pistons.
The Wizards lost by 32 points tonight and owners should probably take this game with a grain of salt. For Seraphin, who has been struggling and getting bounced around the rotation, his outlook remains the same as it has been for a while. Expect inconsistency in the near future, but his outlook gets better as the team decides it's time to loosen the leash and/or get rid of Randy Wittman.

Wed Dec 19 201221:57Kevin Seraphin scores six off Wizards' bench
Kevin Seraphin hit just 3-of-9 shots off the bench for six points, two rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 23 minutes on Wednesday.
The minutes were OK, but Seraphin has been a disappointment lately, meaning he's being dropped in many leagues. It's tough to argue with that, as Randy Wittman hasn't been kind to him with minutes, and little-known Earl Barron drew the start over Seraphin tonight. Seraphin is too shaky to be starting in fantasy leagues right now, but it would not be surprising to see him putting up big numbers a month from now.

Tue Dec 18 201222:57Kevin Seraphin in foul trouble Tuesday
Kevin Seraphin played just 20 minutes on Tuesday, hitting 2-of-6 shots for four points and five rebounds after picking up five fouls.
Seraphin's been a mess lately, seeing 22 or fewer minutes in four of his last five games, and most of those weren't due to foul trouble. He scored eight or less in those four games and has just one block in his last five. Randy Wittman is playing games with Seraphin and while he still looks like a nice player to ride through this slump, we would understand if frustrated owners have to make a move for a hot free agent.

Fri Dec 14 201223:54Seraphin goes for 16 and eight in loss
Kevin Seraphin scored 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting with eight rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Lakers.
Seraphin had a slow four-point, four-rebound night on Wednesday but this should serve as a reminder of his value for the Wizards. In a tight game, he was repeatedly called upon to deliver big buckets and that, along with the Wizards' injury prone frontcourt, should be enough to keep him on rosters this season. He should continue to improve as the season goes on, too.

Thu Dec 13 201202:12Kevin Seraphin plays just 18 minutes in loss
Kevin Seraphin played just 18 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, finishing with four points, four rebounds, a steal and a block.
Starting center Emeka Okafor got hot and had 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting, so Seraphin sat on the bench for the second straight game. His fantasy owners are not pleased, as Seraphin was getting 30 minutes a game and playing at a high level coming into the week. Hopefully he'll bounce back in his next two games, but keep in mind that Nene's minutes could be ready to increase to 25 minutes a game. Hold Seraphin if you can, but also feel free to drop him if you can get a hot free agent like Ed Davis or C.J. Miles.

Wed Dec 12 201200:19Kevin Seraphin plays just 16 minutes in win
Kevin Seraphin cooled off on Tuesday with eight points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes.
He'd scored in double digits in six straight games coming in, and nine of his last 11, and played at least 29 minutes in three straight before this one. Keep in mind he was a little iffy coming into this one due to missing Monday's practice with an illness, so for now, we're going to assume that's what limited him tonight.

Mon Dec 10 201213:04Kevin Seraphin doesn't practice w/ illness
Kevin Seraphin (illness) did not practice on Monday.
Seraphin was feeling "under the weather," so we doubt that it's very serious. Regardless, we're going to mark him sidelined and owners have to hope that he feels better as the Wizards play on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fri Dec 7 201223:57Seraphin scores 19 points with seven boards
Kevin Seraphin scored 19 points on 9-of-16 shooting with seven rebounds and two blocks in 32 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Hawks.
Seraphin is going to be a viable starting option for fantasy owners whether he starts or comes off the bench until further notice, and we like him to continuously improve as the year goes on.

Thu Dec 6 201209:26Kevin Seraphin working on his post game
The Wizards are working with Kevin Seraphin in order to improve his post game.
"We're trying to continue his growth in the post of being more able, getting to the foul line, drawing contact, being more aggressive in a face-up nature, attacking," Wittman said. Seraphin came off the bench for 16 points, 10 boards and a block on 8-of-12 shooting in his last game, and he should be owned in the majority of formats as he's logged three straight double-doubles.

Tue Dec 4 201222:06Kevin Seraphin double-doubles off bench
Kevin Seraphin came off the bench in Tuesday's unlikely win over the Heat and had 16 points, 10 rebounds and a block on 8-of-12 shooting in 31 minutes.
Chris Singleton got the start for matchup reasons tonight, but Seraphin remains a much better fantasy option until further notice.

Tue Dec 4 201218:43Seraphin benched, Singleton starts vs. Heat
Kevin Seraphin will shift to a bench role for the Wizards on Tuesday, replaced at PF by Chris Singleton.
Emeka Okafor will remain at center, but this is probably just a one-game switch for Randy Wittman, who figures Singleton will match up better with the small Heat starting lineup. If you own Seraphin, don't overreact.

Sat Dec 1 201200:02Seraphin double-doubles in loss to Knicks
Kevin Seraphin double-doubled in Friday's blowout loss to the Knicks, scoring 13 points on 6-of-15 shooting with 10 rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes.
Seraphin is taking on a larger offensive role and his efficiency has taken a hit as a result. It's possible he improves in that area if the Wizards improve as a team, but right now he's a bit of a mess with the field goal percentage. Still, his other production has become a bit more consistent and he's the preferred play in the Wizards frontcourt.

Wed Nov 28 201222:12Seraphin double-doubles as Wiz finally win
Kevin Seraphin had 10 points, 10 rebounds and a block in 33 minutes on 5-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's win over the Blazers, the first of the year for the Wizards.
While Seraphin hasn't quite exploded onto the scene, he is playing heavy minutes, racking up solid numbers and is quickly approaching must-own status. And the Wizards finally got a win after 12 straight losses to start the season.

Mon Nov 26 201222:32Seraphin has solid night in blowout loss
Kevin Seraphin scored 18 points on 9-of-19 shooting with seven rebounds, four steals, and two blocks over 32 minutes in a start at power forward on Monday against the Spurs.
Seraphin was a rare bright spot for the Wizards tonight, and his ability to both produce and be the last man standing in the frontcourt have been our main selling points for the French big man. By the standard of breakout moments this one is somewhat muted by Randy Wittman's ever-changing rotations, but it's enough for us to say he should be owned in most 12-team formats.

Sat Nov 24 201222:59Kevin Seraphin struggles Saturday vs. Bobcats
In his second consecutive start at center, Kevin Seraphin had just six points on 3-of-10 shooting, five rebounds and three turnovers in 22 minutes.
Ouch. Nene is theoretically limited to around 20 minutes per game (though he played 29 on Saturday), Emeka Okafor has been struggling, and everyone who scooped up Seraphin was hoping for much more. The good news is that Seraphin will likely remain the Wizards' starter indefinitely, in spite of this quiet game, so don't bail on him just yet.

Wed Nov 21 201223:20Seraphin goes for 21 and 10 vs. Hawks
Kevin Seraphin went for 21 and 10 and hit the would-be game-winning shot against the Hawks on Wednesday, only to see Kyle Korver steal the game-winning honors with a three with 1.7 seconds left.
Seraphin hit 10-of-21 shots in 33 minutes and when we weren't downplaying his upside, we were begging owners to stash him. Tonight's result shows why, and though he's not in the clear and will have threats to his value from Nene (20 minutes, 12 points, one rebound), Emeka Okafor (15 minutes, six points, four boards), and Trevor Booker (knee) when he returns -- we like his chances to be the last man standing and he was the go-to guy for the Wizards tonight. He should be owned in most formats after this result.

Wed Nov 21 201219:10Seraphin, Livingston starting on Wed vs. ATL
Kevin Seraphin will join Shaun Livingston in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Bradley Beal, Jordan Crawford, and Jan Vesely form the rest of the group, and A.J. Price and Trevor Ariza are heading to the bench. Owners can probably drop Price and Ariza has been a bit of a mess lately, too, so owners shouldn't feel too bad if they drop him for a hot free agent, either. Just realize that Ariza could return to some low-end productivity fairly quickly. As for Seraphin, we've been telling to you guys to stash (except for over the weekend when we didn't), and now seems like the appropriate time to pick him up with the frontcourt banged up. Nene is supposed to play tonight, but it's anybody's guess what he has in the tank. Livingston may still operate in a time-share and is only worth watching at this time in most formats.

Tue Nov 20 201200:48Seraphin starts the second half vs. IND
Kevin Seraphin started the second half for the Wizards on Monday, scoring 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting with three rebounds and no steals or blocks in 25 minutes.
Seraphin didn't have the breakout moment that owners were hoping for, but the fact that he was moved into the starting lineup at halftime is obviously good news. Any time he struggles it's more pronounced with the Wizards tinkering and playing poorly as a whole, but his body of work showed a consistent player when given consistent minutes. He's a stronger speculative add considering the number of injuries and injury risks in the Wizards' frontcourt.
