Fri Nov 1 2013 | 23:42 | James Anderson has a quiet night Friday |
James Anderson shot 1-of-5 from the field for three points with two boards, six assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Wizards on Friday. |
The scoring numbers don't jump off the box score, but at least he added stats in every other department. Anderson getting 34 minutes is big for his value, so there's little reason to cut him unless it's to pick up a red-hot free agent. |

Wed Oct 30 2013 | 21:46 | James Anderson quiet in Philly win |
James Anderson started at shooting guard and finished with eight points, six rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers on 3-of-8 shooting on Wednesday. |
This probably isn't the big game his owners were looking for, but the good news is that he played 35 minutes. He still qualifies as a super sleeper and given the minutes he got tonight, he should have some big fantasy lines in his future. |

Wed Oct 23 2013 | 22:54 | James Anderson keeps rolling for Sixers |
James Anderson had another big start at shooting guard for the Sixers on Wednesday, finishing with 23 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and four 3-pointers on 9-of-13 shooting. |
He finishes the preseason averaging nearly 14 points, three rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.5 3-pointers on 51 percent shooting. There's no telling how long it will last, but he's a serious sleeper candidate at shooting guard right now, and should be picked up late in drafts. |

Mon Oct 21 2013 | 21:45 | James Anderson scores 17 points in start |
James Anderson looked good in another start at shooting guard on Monday with 17 points, two boards, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on 6-of-11 from the field in 25 minutes. |
He's not getting any competition on the wing outside of the already established Evan Turner, so his spot in the rotation seems secure. Anderson hasn't done much in his career, failing to score more than 4.0 points per game in any of his four NBA seasons. The 24-year-old guard has some upside as a late-round pick. |

Sun Oct 13 2013 | 11:59 | James Anderson playing well in preseason |
James Anderson is averaging 12.3 points through three preseason games, while making 6-of-12 shots from downtown. |
Anderson has been starting at SG and Brett Brown said that he "he fits in with [the Sixers] with his open-court skills." There will be copious opportunities for him on a thin and rebuilding team, and his 3-point range gives him some fantasy upside, but a career 39.1 percent FG mark restricts him to the late rounds of fantasy drafts. |

Fri Oct 11 2013 | 22:37 | Anderson starts again, scores 16 points |
James Anderson started again for the Sixers in Friday's preseason win over the Celtics, scoring 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with six rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes. |
Anderson is emerging as a reliable player for a Sixers squad devoid of standout talent, and that could give him some late-round upside if he can carve out a 30-minute role. As things stand in Philly we wouldn't rule it out. |

Sun Oct 6 2013 | 15:19 | Anderson looks good in 76ers preseason debut |
James Anderson scored 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go with seven boards, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes on Sunday. |
He looked comfortable out there and was able to get to the basket. Philly doesn't have any starting-caliber depth behind Anderson and Evan Turner on the wing, so the starting shooting guard spot is Anderson's to lose. He hasn't been productive in his NBA career, but hasn't been on a team as bad as the Sixers either. They'll open up their season against the Heat on October 30. |

Sun Sep 29 2013 | 12:39 | James Anderson angling for starting SG job |
James Anderson reportedly worked out with the Sixers' first team on Sunday, and he hopes to start at SG this season. |
There have been suggestions that Anderson would spend time in the D-League this year, and we'd anticipated Evan Turner starting at SG, but Arnett Moultrie's ankle surgery may have changed the equation. If Thaddeus Young ends up starting at PF, Turner would start at SF and Anderson would be the only viable starting SG. We'll keep a close eye on Philly's rotations throughout the preseason, and this report gives Anderson a glimmer of hope for fantasy purposes. |

Fri Aug 23 2013 | 09:40 | James Anderson may spend time in D-League |
James Anderson may spend time in the D-League this season, according to Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News. |
The Sixers are woefully thin at SG, which improves Anderson's outlook, but Cooney writes that he will "probably be a teammate of [Royce] White's" with the Delaware 87ers. If that is the case, Philly would almost certainly give Evan Turner minutes at SG, while signing a few free agents to mop up leftover minutes. |

Mon Jul 15 2013 | 21:22 | Sixers pick up James Anderson off waivers |
The Sixers picked up James Anderson off waivers. |
The Rockets decided to waive Anderson on Saturday after his 29 games with the team in 2012-13. He was a first-round pick back in 2010, but he has yet to do much in his NBA career. Anderson has a little bit of everything to his game with the Sixers very shallow at shooting guard, it wouldn't be a complete shock to see him get minutes. |

Rockets waive G/F James Anderson. |
The Rockets got 29 games from Anderson at 10.6 minutes per game, including two starts to fill in for the injured James Harden. Anderson hasn't quite lived up to the hype he had as a first-round pick from 2010 and will likely just serve bench depth on an NBA team next year. |

Tue Apr 2 2013 | 00:37 | James Anderson goes for 9 & 8 on Monday |
James Anderson started in place of James Harden on Monday and had nine points, eight rebounds and a 3-pointer on 3-of-12 shooting in 29 minutes. |
Anderson is worth keeping an eye on any time that Harden is out, but is far too unreliable to be in starting fantasy lineups. |

Sat Mar 30 2013 | 22:44 | James Anderson makes fill-in start for HOU |
James Anderson started at SG with James Harden out on Saturday, scoring seven points with five rebounds, two assists and four turnovers in 26 minutes. |
Harden is day-to-day, and even if he misses more games we don't anticipate Anderson doing more than this on a given night. View him skeptically until he proves us wrong. |

James Anderson will sign with the Rockets. |
He recently signed in the D-League and scored 16 points in both of his games with the Rio Grande Vipers. The Rockets have enough depth on the wing to ignore Anderson in all fantasy leagues. |

James Anderson will work out for the Timberwolves. |
Malcolm Lee (knee) is likely out for the year and Josh Howard (torn ACL) definitely out for the year, while both Brandon Roy (knee) and Chase Budinger (knee) are sidelined. The T-Wolves could use some additional depth on the wing. |

Spurs waived G/F James Anderson. |
The No. 20 overall pick in 2010 has averaged just 3.4 points in 10 games this season, and 3.7 points in his NBA career. Opening up his roster spot makes room for the Spurs to activate Kawhi Leonard. |

Wed Dec 12 2012 | 08:45 | James Anderson's future uncertain w/ Spurs |
James Anderson could stick on the Spurs roster beyond January 10 when contracts become guaranteed. |
Anderson is on a non-guaranteed deal, but if the Spurs don't cut him before the date, his contract will become guaranteed. "There's a chance he stays," Gregg Popovich said. "But it's also a business...because we're not going to pay (luxury) tax. We're not going to do that." Either way, Anderson will continue to be irrelevant for fantasy owners. |

James Anderson had a season-high nine points with four rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes on Thursday. |
He made both of his field goals and had a solid game on a national stage. The Oklahoma State product was a first-round pick by San Antonio and has been disappointing in his career. He can be left on the waiver wire and is basically one bad play away from being cut. |
