Fri Apr 27 201208:48Lavoy Allen could start at center in playoffs
Lavoy Allen could start at center for the Sixers in the playoffs.
Doug Collins likes Spencer Hawes coming off the bench, and Allen has been playing more frequently of late. Allen will have to play a big role with Nikola Vucevic a non-factor, and Collins has already said that Vucevic is not ready to contribute consistently.

Tue Feb 28 201215:01Lavoy Allen, not Vucevic, starting for Sixers
Lavoy Allen will start at center once again in Tuesday's game against the Pistons.
Despite impressive offensive talent, first-round pick Nikola Vucevic will continue to come off the bench. Over the last 12 games, he's averaging just 18.8 minutes a night. Allen sticks as the starter thanks to his defensive abilities, but there's no upside here. The second-round pick is averaging just 4.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in his nine starts. Spencer Hawes' injury has left a gaping hole in the middle of the Sixers' lineup.

Tue Feb 21 201223:31Lavoy Allen plays well in another start
Lavoy Allen started at center again for the Sixers on Tuesday and had 14 points, five rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 29 minutes.
Nikola Vucevic came off the bench for just two poins and one rebound in 14 minutes, and it looks like Allen is the guy to own until Spencer Hawes is finally back in action. Vucevic could get hot again at some point, but has played 14 & 16 minutes in his last two games after playing well before in his previous four games.

Sat Feb 18 201200:56Lavoy Allen, Nikola Vucevic play well in loss
Lavoy Allen started at center for the Sixers on Friday and had eight points, 10 rebounds and zero blocks, while Nikola Vucevic came off the bench for 16 points, seveen rebounds and a block.
Spencer Hawes remains out indefinitely and these two are going to share time in the middle until he plays again. Both are intriguing fantasy players, but Vucevic seems to have a bit more upside. Don't be surprised to see each of them get some starts until Doug Collins settles on one of them as his full-time guy until Hawes is ready to play again.

Wed Feb 15 201218:56Lavoy Allen to start on Wednesday vs. ORL
Lavoy Allen will start at center on Wednesday against the Magic.
Allen has been quiet lately and Nikola Vucevic played down the stretch in Monday's game, showing signs of life for the first time since returning from a knee/quad injury. Allen, Vucevic, and Tony Battie will all be needed to hack Dwight Howard tonight.

Mon Feb 13 201223:12Allen quiet in start for Sixers on Monday
Lavoy Allen started at center on Monday against the Bobcats, but managed just two points on 1-of-2 shooting with one rebound, three assists, and one block in 16 minutes.
Nikola Vucevic played well tonight, but Allen hasn't really been producing while Vucevic has been quiet the past week, either. Allen is an interesting young talent, but there's still a lot to be desired from a fantasy perspective.

Sat Feb 11 201222:20Lavoy Allen does little in start for Sixers
Lavoy Allen replaced Nikola Vucevic in the 76ers starting lineup for Saturday's game vs. the Cavaliers, but was scoreless with five rebounds in 13 minutes.
Doug Collins may continue to mix-and-match his lineups depending upon the opponents, at least until Spencer Hawes is healthy enough to resume starting duties. While Allen and Vucevic (10 points in 24 minutes) are both impressive young big men, neither is a compelling fantasy option.

Tue Feb 7 201200:03Allen plays 14 minutes in start for Brand
Lavoy Allen started for injured Elton Brand (thumb) on Monday, scoring four points on 2-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and three assists in 14 minutes.
The per-minute totals are nice but it looks like the Sixers opted to use more of Spencer Hawes and Nikola Vucevic against the Lakers' size down low, leaving Allen in the cold. Brand is targeting Wednesday for a return so any window Allen had in standard formats is essentially shut.

Mon Feb 6 201211:32Lavoy Allen will start on Monday
Lavoy Allen will start in place of Elton Brand (thumb) against the Lakers Monday.
Allen has been prone to foul trouble and will be matched up with Pau Gasol tonight. It's not a great spot. Allen started Saturday's game against the Hawks, but managed just four points and four rebounds in 11 minutes.

Sat Feb 4 201221:28Lavoy Allen unimpressive in start for Sixers
Starting at PF for the shorthanded 76ers, Lavoy Allen finished Saturday's game with four points, four rebounds and four personal fouls in 12 minutes.
Allen has been impressive over the past few weeks, with Spencer Hawes injured, and he's worth monitoring in deep leagues. It seems the Sixers unearthed a very solid player in the second round this year, though he definitely needs to learn how to avoid foul trouble.

Thu Feb 2 201216:09Lavoy Allen earns praise from Collins
Coach Doug Collins heaped praise on Lavoy Allen following Wednesday's in over the Bulls.
Allen is a rookie second-rounder and a local product out of Temple. With Spencer Hawes (Achilles) sidelined, he's suddenly acting as the backup center ahead of a healthy Nikola Vucevic. "It's just amazing to me to see how much Lavoy Allen has grown," Collins said. "He has really become a force for us. He's been terrific." Allen's role is far from secure, but he is averaging 7.2 points in 22.6 minutes per night over the last five games.

Wed Feb 1 201221:50Lavoy Allen scores career-high 15 in win
Rookie forward Lavoy Allen hit 7-of-10 shots for a career-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds and two steals in Wednesday's surprisingly easy win over the Bulls.
Allen scored 10 on Monday and is a guy worth putting on your watch list in deeper leagues.

Mon Jan 23 201223:33Allen gets numbers in garbage time on Monday
Rookie forward Lavoy Allen scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting with six rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes on Monday.
Allen saw these minutes and production due to garbage time. Even with more frontcourt minutes available in Philly due to injuries, he needs to climb higher in the rotation before we give him our nod of approval.
