Sat Apr 12 201402:34Burke double-doubles in loss to Blazers
Trey Burke scored 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting (including four treys) with three rebounds and 11 assists on Friday against the Blazers.
The Blazers struggle defensively so owners should keep things in perspective but Burke is on a nice little run, averaging 14.0 points with 2.0 threes, 3.0 boards and 10.3 assists in his last three games. He's still not stealing the ball (0.3) or hitting a high percentage of shots (37.8) over that span, but those numbers warrant consideration in lineups even after noting his inconsistency this year.

Sun Mar 30 201417:40Trey Burke has a tough day vs. OKC
Trey Burke shot 1-of-7 from the field against the Thunder on Sunday with two points and three assists in 29 minutes.
He did not get many clean looks at the basket and has still not figured out how to create space on his two-point shots. On the bright side, Burke has shot 62.2 percent in the restricted area since the break, but those shots account for just 16.7 percent of his shot total. He has a lot to work on over the summer.

Sat Mar 29 201400:12Trey Burke steals season-high three in loss
Trey Burke recorded a season-high three steals to go along with 12 points, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, and six assists in Friday's loss against New Orleans.
More noteworthy than the season-high is the fact that Burke's season-high is only three. He's providing solid numbers this month with 13.6 points, 1.7 3-pointers, 2.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 0.5 steals, but the addition of some steals to Burke's repertoire would be gladly welcomed by his fantasy owners.

Sun Mar 23 201400:30Trey Burke hits game winner against Magic
Trey Burke hit a corner 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left during Saturday's 89-88 win over the Magic, finishing with 17 points, two boards, four assists, one steal and three 3-pointers.
He did make just 5-of-15 from the field in the win, but hit the big shot when it counted. Interestingly, Burke has been money in the clutch and is shooting 53.3 percent from the field in during the last five minutes of games within five points. That is far and away better than his season total of 38.2 percent from the field, so he just has to figure out the other 43 minutes of the game.

Sat Mar 15 201400:22Trey Burke up to three good games in a row
Trey Burke kept up his offensive rhythm on Friday against the Clippers, making 7-of-10 from the field for 18 points with two boards, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
This marked his third game in a row with a field goal percentage of at least 44.4 percent, which is something he did just 14 of his 50 previous games. Burke seems to be getting better looks and it's really helped. Of course, we're not going to say he is cured from his horrendous shooting percentages, but the rookie seems to be on the right path after struggling in this department since Orlando Summer League.

Thu Mar 13 201400:26Trey Burks starting to shoot better for now
Trey Burke shot 8-of-18 from the field for 20 points vs. the Mavericks with one board, six assists and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes on Wednesday.
He's playing off the ball a little more and perhaps it's helped his game. Burke is shooting 38 percent in March and has shot a combined 17-of-33 over his previous two, which is well above his 35 percent from each of his previous two months. Hopefully he can turn it around because his season shooting of 37.4 is toxic to fantasy teams in standard leagues.

Tue Mar 11 201401:53Burke scores 23 points with five 3-pointers
Trey Burke scored 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting (including five threes) with two rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes on Monday against the Hawks.
The Hawks are struggling as much as any team in the league but owners will take the result, regardless. If Burke was floating around the waiver wire this may be your signal to pick him up, though we're not expecting a huge change in his late-round fantasy profile.

Sat Mar 8 201422:05Trey Burke quiet in win over Sixers
Trey Burke hit just 2-of-9 shots for seven points, four rebounds and eight assists in Saturday's win over the Sixers.
Burke's shooting is a wreck right now, as he's hit 11-of-42 shots over his last four games. He's averaging 5.0 assists over that stretch and you have to think his shot will start falling at a more respectable level soon.

Fri Mar 7 201423:45Burke quiet in Friday's blowout loss
Trey Burke scored four points on 2-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, four assists and zero steals in Friday's blowout loss.
Burke is one of the guys that the Jazz refer to when they talk about players that aren't used to big minutes. He has played his way back onto the waiver wire in many standard formats but by virtue of his starting job he'll be worth watching in case he can get his numbers out of the red.

Wed Mar 5 201422:52Trey Burke scores 14 on weak shooting night
Trey Burke shot 5-of-14 against the Wizards during a 104-91 loss on Wednesday, scoring 14 points with four boards, three assists and two 3-pointers.
In an interview on Wednesday, Burke said he wants to get in the paint more. "That's one of the main focuses for me right now," he said. "In college, a lot of times I was able to get into the paint and make plays. It's tougher for me now." Burke is really struggling in scoring this season and he's looked a big scared once the help comes on defense. The rookie should get better, but he's not a slam-dunk player to own in standard formats.

Sun Feb 23 201400:10Rookie Trey Burke coming on for Jazz
Rookie Trey Burke hit just 7-of-19 shots, but also hit two 3-pointers to finish with 16 points, six assists, two steals and a block in Saturday's loss.
His shooting wasn't great, but he's posted solid numbers in three straight games, averaging 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.3 3-pointers. While this could be a sign that he's ready to go on to finish the season on a high note, it's also a great time to sell high if he's been driving you batty all year.

Thu Feb 20 201401:44Trey Burke has a nice game in loss
Trey Burke shot 6-of-12 from the field for 14 points with three boards, 10 assists and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes vs. the Nets on Wednesday.
It's the first time he's shot at least 50 percent in over a month and his offensive game has really plateaued. Burke has attempted just two free throws in his last 11 games, which is absurd considering he's taken 130 field goal attempts in that span. He needs to attack the rim more or else he's going to have some very ugly field goal percentage in his career. The rookie is a fringe player to own in standard leagues because of it.

Wed Feb 12 201401:37Trey Burke plays through sore back
Trey Burke played through his sore back on Tuesday and hit 3-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for eight points, four rebounds, eight assists and a steal in a win over the Lakers.
Burke's shooting and overall play has become annoying, but he is still the only relevant point guard in Utah. He's not a must-start fantasy play at this point, but we still think you're better off holding onto him than dropping him.

Tue Feb 11 201414:36Trey Burke (back) ready to play vs. Lakers
Trey Burke (sore back) is expected to play in Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers.
The rookie had some lower-back pain after Saturday's game, but a few days of rest seem to have done the trick. He's been a disaster for fantasy purposes over the past few weeks and should only be in active lineups if you're desperate for a trickle of 3-pointers and assists.

Mon Feb 10 201413:23Trey Burke (back) questionable vs. Lakers
Trey Burke doesn't think that his sore back is serious, but he added that "it's something you keep your eye on."
Utah's rookie PG should be considered questionable for Tuesday's road game vs. the Lakers. Burke's numbers over the past six games mount a strong argument for benching him regardless of his availability -- he averaged 8.7 points, 1.5 threes, 2.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists, but shot 28.8 percent from the field without a single steal to his credit.

Sun Feb 9 201402:05Trey Burke experiencing lower back pain
Trey Burke was experiencing lower back pain following Saturday's win against the Heat.
He's only missed games because of his broken finger and this is the first back-related injury of note all season. Burke said he could barely walk in the locker room and it's unclear if this injury will force him to miss Tuesday's game. Hopefully, the Jazz update his status before Monday, but he's certainly not played well enough to risk for owners with any other decent option.

Sun Feb 9 201400:34Trey Burke has a decent shooting line vs. MIA
Trey Burke shot 5-of-11 from the field for 13 points with one board, three assists and three 3-pointers against the Heat on Saturday.
It's the first time in his last nine games which he's shot over 40 percent from the field. Burke also has no steals in that span and just 4.3 assists per game, so he still has some work to do to get back in his fantasy owners' good graces. More specifically, Burke needs to figure out how he can get to the rim a little more because his current offensive arsenal isn't working. He's not necessarily a must-own player for those who don't want to wait for production.

Tue Feb 4 201403:09Burke continues to struggle in Jazz loss
Trey Burke continued to struggle in Monday's loss to the Raptors, scoring just eight points on 4-of-14 shooting with six rebounds and three assists.
Burke did not have a steal, block or three and along with his subpar shooting he has been a borderline 12-14 team value on the year. That said, he's starting and locked into big time minutes and he should improve as the year goes on. Ty Corbin mentioned a rookie wall when discussing him before the game, too, and the All Star break couldn't come at a better time.

Mon Feb 3 201410:42Corbin: Trey Burke has hit the 'rookie wall'
Jazz coach Ty Corbin suggested that PG Trey Burke, who has double-digit points in one of the past six games, has hit the "rookie wall."
"Trey being a young guy, he just has to figure it out," Corbin said. "His body is probably hurting in places he didn't think he had before." Burke averaged under 32 minutes per game in January and that seems like a sustainable pace, but he also shot just 35.1 percent from the field and his accuracy won't improve if he's exhausted on a nightly basis. Hopefully he'll be rejuvenated by the All-Star break.

Sun Feb 2 201402:04Trey Burke hits 2-of-13 shots in loss
Trey Burke hit just 2-of-13 shots for six points and five assists in Saturday's loss.
Both of his hits were 3-pointers and it's possible he was still bothered by the illness that dogged him on Friday. He's been struggling, averaging just 7.8 points, 5.6 assists, 0.0 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, shooting a putrid 27 percent. He's still the starting point guard for the Jazz until further notice, so we'd rather see him benched than cut in fantasy leagues.
