Tue Apr 3 201209:08Bell has knee injection, out indefinitely
Raja Bell (knee) had a hyalgan injection and is out indefinitely.
Bell was evaluated for a week in Miami, but neither his agent or the team provided information on the diagnosis. It sounds like the veteran is attempting to delay surgery with the hope that he doesn't have to undergo the dreaded microfracture procedure, but we wouldn't count on seeing him anytime soon.

Mon Apr 2 201211:58Still no update on Raja Bell
The Jazz have still not disclosed if Raja Bell will undergo microfracture surgery.
Bell got a third opinion on his knee in an effort to avoid the potentially career-altering procedure. Regardless, coach Tyrone Corbin is locked into C.J. Miles and Gordon Hayward as his starting wings.

Thu Mar 29 201208:32Still no update on health of Raja Bell
The Jazz had no update on Raja Bell (knee), who is getting a third opinion from a Miami doctor.
Bell could be facing microfracture surgery, and the reason he went to Miami was to see if that was the only option he had on the table. He's become an afterthought for for fantasy owners.

Tue Mar 27 201206:53Raja Bell getting third opinion on balky knee
Raja Bell (knee) could be getting microfracture surgery.
This is the reason Bell wants to get a third opinion in Miami, and he won't travel with the team to Boston. If he does need that type of surgery, the veteran would be facing a lengthy rehabilitation process. Bell remains out indefinitely and there is no timetable for his return.

Mon Mar 26 201220:30Bell out on Monday
Raja Bell (knee, adductor) will not play on Monday against the Nets.
No surprise here. Bell is getting a third opinion on his knee and it sounds like the Jazz are forcing him out. Gordon Hayward and C.J. Miles are locked into starting jobs, with the former being a must-own player and the latter being worth owning in 12-team leagues, despite his lackluster numbers.

Sun Mar 25 201223:56Raja Bell may need microfracture surgery
Raja Bell's left knee may require microfracture surgery, but he's hopeful he can play through the injury and is waiting for a second opinion.
Bell's adductor has healed so he wants to return to the Jazz lineup, but it makes sense for him to wait until he's medically cleared to play on his bum knee. It's a sad situation for the 12-year veteran, but hopefully he'll get some good news this week. If he's done for the season, C.J. Miles should continue to start at SG with Alec Burks playing more minutes off the bench.

Sat Mar 24 201210:55Raja Bell says he's healthy enough to play
Raja Bell (strained adductor) said that he feels "great" and could have played on Friday.
Asked why he isn't playing, Bell told reporters to ask the Jazz, adding, "There comes a point in your career where you realize that ultimately you don't control most of this." Bell's health is a question mark and he's obviously clashing with the coaching staff in Utah -- in the meantime, more minutes are available for Gordon Hayward, C.J. Miles and Alec Burks.

Fri Mar 23 201223:19Bell received second opinion on knee
Raja Bell received a second opinion on his injured left knee on Friday and is out indefinitely.
The results from that second opinion are not in, which would presumably include an MRI. Second opinions are never a good sign for a player's health, and we're not banking on a return by Bell to the lineup. Gordon Hayward and C.J. Miles are heading towards starter's minutes down the stretch.

Fri Mar 23 201206:57Raja Bell also dealing with a knee injury
Raja Bell (strained adductor) is also dealing with a knee injury.
Tyrone Corbin plans to talk with Bell to "ascertain his availability," but the veteran didn't play on Thursday and his return is up in the air. With Corbin sticking with the starting five that includes both Gordon Hayward and C.J. Miles, it looks like Bell could return to a reserve role when he's healthy. There is no fantasy value to be had here.

Thu Mar 22 201222:10Bell (adductor) will not play on Thursday
Raja Bell (adductor) did not play on Thursday against the Kings.
Gordon Hayward and C.J. Miles will continue to start, and Bell has no guarantee of returning to the starting lineup when he's healthy. That said, it wouldn't be surprising to see Hayward return to the second unit where he can be a more dominant ball-handler.

Thu Mar 22 201214:13Raja Bell will dress, may not play
Raja Bell (adductor) will dress Thursday, but might not play.
Bell won't start and it sounds like he might be used only in an emergency situation. The Jazz have won four straight games and Bell has played a grand total of 15 minutes in those wins. Coach Tyrone Corbin won't mess with the lineup now, rolling with C.J. Miles and Gordon Hayward on the wings.

Wed Mar 21 201223:33Raja Bell (adductor) expects to play vs. SAC
Raja Bell (strained adductor) intends to return vs. the Kings on Thursday, but he's technically a game-time decision and he won't necessarily regain his starting SG job.
Tyrone Corbin was happy with the starting combo of C.J. Miles and Gordon Hayward on Tuesday, but (and here's the red flag for fantasy owners) he'll also consider starting Bell or Alec Burks at SG. Of the lot, Hayward is the only guy we can recommend, and that's only because Josh Howard is done for the season.

Wed Mar 21 201213:07Raja Bell, Earl Watson practice Wednesday
Raja Bell (strained adductor) and Earl Watson (ankle) will practice on Wednesday and will then have their status updated.
Both players should be considered questionable against the Kings, but neither should have an impact on fantasy leagues.

Tue Mar 20 201212:40Raja Bell ruled out for Tuesday, GTD Thursday
Raja Bell (strained adductor) is out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder and a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Kings.
The fact that Bell is already a game-time call for Thursday's game indicates that the veteran clearly isn't feeling right. He has dealt with the strained adductor throughout the season and hasn't played in the last two games. He has no fantasy value. Josh Howard, Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward should combine to pick up Bell's minutes.

Sun Mar 18 201220:27Raja Bell (groin) out again vs. Lakers
Raja Bell (strained adductor) is not with the Jazz for Sunday's game.
We're going to call the veteran swingman 'out indefinitely', and he seems to constantly be a game-time decision due to either his groin or his knees. There's no fantasy value here.

Sat Mar 17 201212:52Raja Bell out w/ strained adductor vs. GSW
Raja Bell won't play on Saturday because of his strained adductor.
This injury has been nagging Bell for most of the season, and he's also battling a chronically sore knee and intermittently clashing with head coach Tyrone Corbin. He's somehow kept his starting job through it all, yet he doesn't provide any appreciable fantasy value.

Thu Mar 15 201220:46Bell (knee) to start on Thursday vs. Wolves
Raja Bell (knee) will start in Thursday's game against the Wolves.
Bell has had quite a week with trade rumors, injury, and clashes with Ty Corbin. As for the fantasy implications of all that, we'd venture to guess that there won't be any. He is not a fantasy option.

Wed Mar 14 201213:04Raja Bell drawing interest from Clippers
According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, there are "discussions" between the Clippers and Jazz regarding Raja Bell.
In the outlined deal, Bell would head to Los Angeles and Utah would receive the trade exception the Clips have from the Eric Gordon trade to New Orleans. Los Angeles is definitely in the hunt for a shooting guard, and the team has also been linked to names such as Courtney Lee and Jamal Crawford. There are less than 26 hours until the trade deadline.
