Fri May 10 | 18:57 | Precious Achiuwa Starts Game 3 On Friday |
New York Knicks forward/center Precious Achiuwa will replace OG Anunoby (hamstring) in the starting lineup on Friday against Indiana. The 24-year-old played only four minutes in the series opener but now finds himself in a big role, as the Knicks have also lost Mitchell Robinson (ankle). During the regular season, Achiuwa posted 12.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.1 steals as a starter. |

Sat Dec 30 2023 | 13:20 | Knicks Acquire Precious Achiuwa From Toronto |
The Knicks acquired forward/center Precious Achiuwa from the Raptors on Saturday as part of the deal that resulted in the exchange of OG Anunoby, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett. Without question, Achiuwa has had flashes of production over the years. He averaged 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds last season. However, he was much more productive in his 12 appearances in the starting lineup, logging 13.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. Although the 24-year-old may continue to fight for minutes in New York, he has a better chance of getting involved on a routine basis, considering center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) won't be back this season. |

Fri Nov 24 2023 | 11:28 | Precious Achiuwa Receives Questionable Tag On Friday |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (knee) has been battling a handful of different ailments to start the year, the latest one being right-knee soreness, which has put him on the injury report as questionable for Friday. He has only seen around 19 minutes per contest this season when he is on the floor, so he hasn't been able to contribute to fantasy teams as much as he has over the last couple of seasons. If he remains sidelined against the Bulls, Otto Porter Jr. and Chris Boucher should see some extra minutes off of the bench. |

Sat Nov 11 2023 | 18:42 | Precious Achiuwa Returning On Saturday |
Toronto Raptors center Precious Achiuwa (groin) will return from a five-game absence on Saturday night against Boston. He was out with a groin strain, although he had been flirting with playing over the last few games. Achiuwa has averaged 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 points in his three appearances this season, so he provides some value to fantasy managers in 12-team leagues and up. At the same time, his return will force Chris Boucher to return to the bench, meaning he should be dumped from all fantasy rosters. |

Fri Nov 10 2023 | 16:29 | Precious Achiuwa Uncertain To Return On Saturday |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (groin) has missed the last five games in a row due to a groin strain that he picked up in their third game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Memphis product is officially listed as questionable for their Saturday game against the Boston Celtics, so it seems as though he's trending in the right direction. Achiuwa is normally a good source of rebounds in deep leagues, but he's not as relevant in smaller leagues or points formats. If he does suit up, Otto Porter Jr. and Chris Boucher would likely see fewer minutes in the process. |

Wed Nov 8 2023 | 20:24 | Precious Achiuwa To Remain Out On Wednesday |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (groin) will remain on the sideline ahead of Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. This marks the fifth game in a row that Achiuwa has missed due to groin strain. His absence will mean that Chris Boucher and Jalen McDaniels will see extended run in the rotation. Despite more playing time, neither player is an ideal streaming option and will probably only offer low-end value. |

Sun Nov 5 2023 | 15:15 | Precious Achiuwa To Miss Another Game On Sunday |
Toronto Raptors forward/center Precious Achiuwa (groin) won't play in Sunday's matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. The 24-year-old has played just three games this season. However, he's battling a groin issue, so his next chance to return will be on Wednesday in Dallas. In the meantime, Chris Boucher, averaging 6.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, should see more minutes. Unfortunately, he's not someone fantasy managers can trust to provide consistent production in any fantasy format. |

Wed Nov 1 2023 | 10:31 | Precious Achiuwa Doubtful For Wednesday's Tilt |
Toronto Raptors forward/center Precious Achiuwa (groin) is in danger of missing a second consecutive game, with the team listing him as doubtful for Wednesday's affair with the Bucks. He's suffering from a left groin strain and couldn't help his squad on Monday versus Portland. After being limited to individual work in Tuesday's practice, it's looking unlikely that Achiuwa will be able to return to the court Wednesday night. The 24-year-old has played a significant role off the bench for the Raptors, averaging close to 22 minutes a night. Chris Boucher is the next best big off the pine in Toronto, but trusting him is always like playing the lottery for fantasy managers. |

Mon Oct 30 2023 | 18:21 | Precious Achiuwa Ruled Out On Monday |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (groin) will miss at least one game due to a left groin strain. According to Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports, Achiuwa has been ruled out of Monday's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. While he's on the sidelines, Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl will likely see more minutes from the starting lineup. After them, look for Chris Boucher to get some time at center and maybe even Jalen McDaniels to get some opportunities. Both of them are riskier streaming options, but Boucher would be the better option for rebounds, if needed. |

Sun Oct 29 2023 | 22:46 | Precious Achiuwa Considered Doubtful On Monday |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (groin) has been dealing with a groin strain for a couple of weeks now. So far, he's been able to play in the team's first three games, but he's officially listed as doubtful for the team's Monday night contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. The 24-year-old hasn't found his shooting rhythm just yet, but has averaged 7.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 21.7 minutes per game. If he can't suit up, Jalen McDaniels and Chris Boucher would likely see some more opportunities off of the bench. |

Wed Oct 11 2023 | 16:06 | Precious Achiuwa Improving From Groin Strain |
Toronto Raptors forward/center Precious Achiuwa (groin) is "feeling much better" and did some on-court activity during Wednesday's practice. Achiuwa is hobbled by a "minor" left groin strain, which cost him Sunday's preseason game against the Sacramento Kings. The Raptors aren't back in action until Sunday, so the 24-year-old glass cleaner has some time to get right before then. The likes of Chris Boucher, Jalen McDaniels, and Thaddeus Young would continue to occupy more minutes if Achiuwa cannot return by then. Achiuwa has filled in serviceably as a starter when called upon by Toronto in the past, so the former first-round pick carries some decent contingency upside as a deep-league late-round flier in upcoming fantasy drafts. |

Fri Oct 6 2023 | 23:40 | Precious Achiuwa Not Available Against Kings |
Toronto Raptors forward/center Precious Achiuwa (groin) won't play in Sunday's preseason affair against the Sacramento Kings. Fortunately, head coach Darko Rajakovic described the left groin strain as "minor," although Achiuwa will be re-evaluated sometime next week. The 24-year-old is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in 55 games with the Raptors. Achiuwa is expected to come off the bench behind Jakob Poeltl, so he won't be a consistent fantasy option. However, he may draw some starts during the 2023-24 campaign, potentially giving him streaming appeal in all fantasy setups. |

Thu Apr 6 2023 | 10:48 | Time To Hang It Up: Five NBA Players That Should Retire After The Season |
Basketball is a fast-paced game. While the court's dimensions are smaller than baseball and football fields, there is no room to relax because players must exert effort on offense and defense. NBA's Advanced Stats reveal that LaMelo Ball trumps other ballers in the distance covered, averaging 2.77 miles per game. Fred VanVleet is not far behind at 2.76.Therefore, basketball players must be in good condition to render significant minutes. Conversely, injuries are also a dime a dozen because of the extensive regular season. Failing to stay in shape could mean reduced playing time or an abrupt end to their career. But at some point, Father Time wins, no matter how much a player wants to delay the inevitable. These players have rendered extensive NBA careers but are far from the peak of their capabilities. Sadly, retirement after the 2022-23 season is a strong possibility because they are not steady contributors anymore or hardly step into the court. However, their younger teammates should pick their brains and learn from their limitless wisdom.  Young won the NBA Hustle Award during the 2020-21 season thanks to his accumulated hustle stats like taking screens and diving for loose balls. But that recognition is a nice consolation for a man who nearly averaged a double-double (15.1 points, nine rebounds) for the 2015-16 season with the Brooklyn Nets.https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1612227070108516355The 16-year veteran has been touted as a do-it-all player on both ends. Unfortunately, his production has significantly dropped in his second season with the Toronto Raptors. He is averaging only 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game through March 11. He hasn't played since, even if he is on the active roster, because of ... [ More] |

Thu Mar 23 2023 | 14:48 | Precious Achiuwa Regarded As Questionable For Friday |
Toronto Raptors forward/center Precious Achiuwa (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday and could be out for a second consecutive game Friday against the Pistons, with him being regarded as questionable for the matchup. Jakob Poeltl's arrival has dealt Achiuwa's fantasy value a big blow, but with Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) and Scottie Barnes (wrist) also currently troubled by injuries, Achiuwa would have a chance to play a bigger role if he would be healthy enough to take the court. Chris Boucher logged 28 minutes on Wednesday against the Pacers, posting 11 points and six rebounds with three blocks, and he would be a good streaming option again Friday if the Raptors can't get healthy. |

Tue Feb 14 2023 | 18:11 | Precious Achiuwa Will Play Against Magic |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (ankle) is available to play Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. Achiuwa was questionable with an ankle sprain, but will not miss any time due to the injury. Gray Trent Jr. (calf) will remain sidelined so the Raptors will likely roll out another lineup with Achiuwa and Jakob Poeltl in the frontcourt. Achiuwa should be a good source of rebounding Tuesday and is coming off an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double. |

Tue Feb 14 2023 | 15:26 | Precious Achiuwa Tagged As Questionable Against Orlando |
Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa (ankle) has been given the questionable tag for Tuesday's game with a right ankle sprain. The 23-year-old has been starting throughout the whole month of February and has turned in a quality fantasy contributor as he enters the top 200 for the first time in nine-category leagues. If he can't play on Tuesday, however, Jakob Poeltl should see a lot more usage than his previous two games and Thaddeus Young could see some more opportunities and maybe even a spot-start. |

Fri Feb 10 2023 | 13:15 | 2023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts |
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.  Moves That MatterThese are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career. Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [ More] |
Thu Feb 9 2023 | 23:29 | Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact |
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.  Kevin Durant's Season RecapDurant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season. |
Fri Dec 30 2022 | 18:02 | Fred VanVleet, Precious Achiuwa Will Miss Friday’s Contest |
Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet (back) and power forward/center Precious Achiuwa (ankle) have been ruled out for Friday's game against the Suns. VanVleet will miss his second consecutive outing, paving the way for Malachi Flynn to become a highly targeted DFS option due to his low price tag. Achiuwa has been sidelined since Nov. 9 due to a sprained right ankle, but he has recently been tagged as questionable, indicating that a return is likely not far off. Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam are also likely to see elevated passing opportunities among the starting five. VanVleet and Achiuwa's next opportunity to return comes Monday vs. Indiana. |
