Fri Jul 5 201321:38Kevin Correia struggles in loss to Blue Jays
Kevin Correia struggled in Friday's loss to the Blue Jays, surrendering four runs on 10 hits and three walks in his six innings.
Correia fanned three on the evening. Jose Bautista got the scoring started with a solo homer in the third inning and added an RBI single in the three-run fourth to cap the damage against him. The loss evens Correia's record at 6-6 and drops his ERA to 4.19. He'll look to get back on track when he takes on the Rays in Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Sun Jun 30 201317:19Correia gives up five runs, Twins lose to KC
Kevin Correia gave up five earned runs in five innings Sunday as the Twins lost to the Royals.
Correia was not sharp and the Twins' bullpen was no better as the Royals racked up nine total runs on 13 hits and five walks. Correia now has a 4.08 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 99 1/3 innings this season for Minnesota. With a weak strikeout rate, he's not really fantasy-relevant.

Tue Jun 25 201322:24Correia turns in another good start in loss
Kevin Correia allowed two runs in six innings but took a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday.
The Twins were panned for signing Correia to a two-year, $10 million contract in the offseason, but to their credit the right-hander has delivered thus far. Correia's start on Tuesday was his fourth-straight quality start, giving up five hits and two walks while striking out two. He's now 6-5 with a 3.82 ERA in 15 starts. His next start will come Sunday against the Royals.

Fri Jun 14 201300:12Correia (ND) hurls five innings of 1-run ball
Kevin Correia hurled five innings of one-run ball Thursday as part of a no-decision against the Phillies.
He gave up eight hits and one walk, striking out six. Correia required a season-high 112 pitches to dance through five frames. The 32-year-old has proved to be a solid AL-only starter. He'll take a 5-4 record and 3.97 ERA into a tilt with the White Sox next week.

Sat Jun 8 201319:54Kevin Correia punches out season-high seven
Kevin Correia punched out a season-high seven hitters in Saturday's no-decision against the Nationals.
Correia allowed three runs on eight hits over his 6 1/3 innings. Jayson Werth got the Nats on the board with a two-run homer in the third inning, then Correia silenced the Washington bats until Kurt Suzuki's RBI double in the seventh. Correia has been somewhat of a stabilizing force in the Twins' rotation this season, compiling a 5-4 record, 4.11 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through his first 12 starts. He'll do battle against the Tigers at home next weekend.

Sat Jun 1 201316:47Correia gives up four runs in no-decision
Kevin Correia gave up four runs in 6 2/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Mariners.
Correia has now allowed three homers in back-to-back starts and 11 over his last six. While he began May with a 2.23 ERA, it now sits at 4.09 for the year. That's closer to where he should be. He lines up to face the Nationals next Friday, but shouldn't be trusted outside of AL-only formats.

Mon May 20 201322:23Kevin Correia gives up five runs in loss
Kevin Correia surrendered five runs in four innings Monday in a loss to the Braves.
At least he'll always have April; Correia has seen his ERA jump from 2.23 to 3.90 while giving up 15 runs in 22 1/3 innings during May. He shouldn't have any fantasy value over the remainder of the season.

Wed May 15 201300:50Correia allows four, Twins lose to White Sox
Kevin Correia allowed four runs over seven innings as the Twins lost to the White Sox on Tuesday.
Correia has been one of the surprises of the young season, as Tuesday was just the second time all season he'd allowed more than three runs in a start. The right-hander surrendered nine hits, including two home runs, while striking out just two in the outing. His season ERA is still just 3.35, but his low strikeout totals and past history tell us danger lies ahead for the veteran. We're still laying off outside of AL-only leagues. He'll next take the bump against the Braves on Monday.

Sat May 4 201316:32Kevin Correia struggles in loss to Indians
Kevin Correia struggled in a losing effort against the Indians on Saturday, surrendering four runs on six hits over five innings of work.
Correia walked two and struck out four. The Indians jumped on him in the very first inning with a pair of solo homers from Jason Kipnis and Nick Swisher, and added another pair of runs in the second. Despite the poor effort on Saturday, Correia still sports a solid a 3-2 record and 2.83 ERA on the season. He'll look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Red Sox in Boston on Thursday.

Sun Apr 28 201316:54Correia cruises again as Twins defeat Rangers
Kevin Correia fired eight innings of shutout ball Sunday in the Twins' 5-0 defeat of the Rangers.
Correia held the dangerous Texas lineup to six hits -- all singles -- while striking out two. It was another impressive showing from the 32-year-old right-hander, who was signed to a two-year, $10 million free agent contract this past winter. He is now 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through five starts and may be worth streaming in some deeper mixed fantasy leagues despite the lack of strikeouts.

Tue Apr 23 201317:10Kevin Correia earns win over Marlins
Kevin Correia pitched seven innings of two-run ball Tuesday as the Twins beat the Marlins 4-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.
Correia has gone seven innings every time out so far. Last year, he did it just three times in 28 starts for the Pirates. We still don't trust Correia at all, and it's not like he doesn't have a history of fast starts and quick declines. He'll probably get the Rangers next.

Mon Apr 22 201313:36Marlins vs. Twins postponed because of snow
Monday night's game between the Twins and Marlins has been postponed due to a Minnesota snowstorm.
Kevin Correia was scheduled to start for the Twins and Ricky Nolasco was supposed to be on the bump for the Marlins. The two teams are going to try to fit in a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday at Target Field, but the forecast currently calls for more wintry weather.

Tue Apr 16 201300:12Kevin Correia earns first win for Twins
Kevin Correia recorded his first win for the Twins after allowing two runs in seven innings Monday against the Angels.
The runs came on early homers from Peter Bourjos and Brendan Harris. With a 2.95 ERA in three starts, Correia is turning in one of his typical strong Aprils. We doubt he'll keep it going for the long haul.

Mon Apr 8 201318:58Eighth inning does in Kevin Correia
Kevin Correia was unscored upon in the first seven frames Monday against the Royals but then came undone in a three-run eighth inning.
Correia's pitch count was low, which is why he came back out for the eighth, but the move backfired on Twins manager Ron Gardenhire. The right-hander gave up eight hits and a walk while striking out one over 7 1/3 frames for the day. Correia has a nice 3.14 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through his two starts, but he's still looking for his first win. He'll try for it later this week against the Mets.

Wed Apr 3 201319:51Kevin Correia pitches well in no-decision
Kevin Correia was solid in a no-decision Wednesday, giving up two runs over seven innings in a 3-2 win over the Tigers.
He allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out a pair. Correia exited the game on the hook for the loss, but his teammates bailed him out with a two-run ninth to win it. The veteran righty should be able to eat some innings this season while posting around a league-average ERA, but he's not someone to own in fantasy leagues.

Thu Mar 28 201321:21Kevin Correia goes five strong
Kevin Correia finished out his Grapefruit League season but tossing five innings of one-run ball Thursday against the Red Sox.
He gave up five hits, walked one and struck out one. Despite tonight's strong showing, Correia still wound up with a 5.40 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 8/10 K/BB ratio during Grapefruit League play. He should not be owned in fantasy leagues.

Sat Mar 23 201317:30Kevin Correia gives up four runs to Rays
Kevin Correia yielded four runs -- three earned -- in 4 2/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Rays.
It's a good thing Correia isn't having to compete for his rotation spot this spring, because he'd be missing out with his 6.30 ERA and ugly 5/6 K/BB ratio in 15 1/3 innings. Despite his shiny two-year, $10 million contract, it'd be no surprise to him toiling in middle relief by midseason.

Wed Mar 13 201321:18Kevin Correia solid vs. O's
Kevin Correia limited the Orioles to two runs -- one earned -- over 4 2/3 frames Wednesday.
He surrendered four hits -- including a Chris Dickerson homer -- and didn't record a walk or strikeout. Correia holds a 4.76 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over four starts this spring, but his rotation spot is guaranteed after the Twins gave him $10 million this winter.

Wed Feb 27 201317:21Kevin Correia gives up two runs to Phillies
Kevin Correia pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed three runs and five hits in a no-decision against the Phillies on Wednesday.
The Twins' decision to give Correia $10 million for two years was one of the most baffling of the winter. He's guaranteed a rotation spot, but he shouldn't be a part of AL-only pitching staffs.
