Sun Aug 4 201319:32Jordan slammed for four runs in loss to Crew
Taylor Jordan was touched for four runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.
Exactly one week after earning his first major league win by beating the Mets, Jordan turned in a dud, the second time in three starts that he's allowed four earned runs. Jordan (1-3, 3.76 ERA) could be as few as two starts from the end of his season. Jordan, who was limited to 54 1/3 frames last season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, has hurled 11 1/3 frames since Nationals manager Davey Johnson said he would shut the youngster down after about 20-30 more innings.

Sun Jul 28 201317:41Jordan twirls 6 innings of 1-run ball in win
Taylor Jordan twirled six innings of one-run ball to earn his first major league win in Sunday's victory against the Mets.
He struck out a career-high seven batters, walked one and scattered five hits. Jordan, who improves to 1-3 with a 3.31 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over six starts, is nearing the end of his season. Prior to this outing, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Jordan would be shut down after about 20-30 more innings, which means he could be yanked from the rotation next month. Jordan was limited to 54 1/3 frames last season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery.

Wed Jul 24 201319:44Taylor Jordan is on innings limit
Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Taylor Jordan will be shut down after about 20-30 more innings.
Jordan was limited to just 54 1/3 frames last season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, so the Nats want to keep his innings down. That means he'll likely make his last start by the end of August, so the Nats will need to find another starter if Ross Detwiler (back) can't come back healthy.

Tue Jul 23 201322:38Taylor Jordan goes career-high 7 2/3 innings
Taylor Jordan went a career-high 7 2/3 innings but took a loss versus the Pirates Tuesday, yielding five runs -- four earned -- on nine hits and a walk.
Jordan struck out four in the outing. Despite allowing a lot of baserunners, he remained efficient, needing 99 pitches to cover the 7 2/3 frames. He probably shouldn't have come out for the eighth, though, as a Pedro Alvarez homer and Gaby Sanchez RBI double (after Jordan left) extended the lead. Jordan will take a 3.68 ERA and 1.36 WHIP into this weekend's home start against the Mets.

Sun Jul 14 201317:33Jordan hurls six innings of two-run ball
Taylor Jordan enjoyed the best start of his young career on Sunday against the Marlins, hurling six innings of two-run ball in a no-decision.
He struck out four, walked none and gave up eight hits. Jordan hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his four starts for the Nats, but today was the first time he'd gone even six innings and he's struck out just 10 over 21 2/3 frames. He heads into the All-Star break 0-2 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.

He struck out just two, allowed eight hits and walked one. Jordan hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his three starts for the Nats, but he's also yet to go six innings and has struck out just six over 15 2/3 frames. He'll start on Sunday against the Marlins in Miami.

Thu Jul 4 201314:52Jordan goes five-plus as Nats beat Brewers
Taylor Jordan limited the Brewers to two runs over 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a no-decision.
Washington won the game with an eighth-inning rally, so Jordan got neither the victory nor the loss. He pitched well, scattering six hits and issuing no walks while fanning three. The 24-year-old right-hander might not be up for much longer with Dan Haren (shoulder) feeling healthier, but he's done some positive things on this stay.

Sat Jun 29 201316:30Jordan struggles in first major league start
Taylor Jordan didn't last long in his first major league start, allowing three runs (one earned) over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Mets.
Jordan didn't get much help from his defense, but he was pretty shaky, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out just one batter. He also hit a batter. The Nationals intend to give him multiple starts when Dan Haren (shoulder) is out, but he probably won't be much of a fantasy factor.
