Sun Jul 20 201408:28Rockies option Eddie Butler to Double-A
Rockies activated RHP Eddie Butler from the 15-day disabled list; option him to Double-A Tulsa.
Butler had been expected to rejoin the Rockies' rotation on Tuesday, but those plans were altered after he was touched up for six runs on eight hits and three walks in a rehab start for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday. He should get another shot later this season, but for now he'll continue to hone his craft. "Just giving him time to get sharp," manager Walt Weiss said. "He's been out for a while. He's had a couple rehab starts. But we're giving him time to get everything in order and be ready to come back and help us. He's probably going to need more time."

Eddie Butler (shoulder) is expected to rejoin the Rockies' rotation on Tuesday against the Nationals.

It appears that will be his lone rehab outing before being activated even though he only got his pitch count up to 58. Butler doesn't figure to pitch deep into Tuesday's outing, but the young righty is worth rostering again in deeper formats.
