Thu Jun 29 2023 | 21:48 | Bobby Witt Jr. Continues To Struggle |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Thursday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Cleveland Guardians. Witt Jr. didn't contribute much in the Royals' narrow win over their division rival and he's slashing just .192/.267/.231 over his last seven games (26 at-bats). While June was his best month as far as batting average and on-base percentage are concerned (.274/.333 over 95 at-bats), it was his worth month in terms of power. He's gone deep just twice and owns a lackluster .379 over the month. Overall, the 23-year-old is slashing .241/.286/.415 with 12 home runs, 38 RBI, and 23 stolen bases across 323 at-bats. The game-to-game results can be frustrating for fantasy managers but better days are ahead for Witt Jr. |

Wed Jun 21 2023 | 18:17 | Bobby Witt Jr. Doubles In Loss Wednesday |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a double in a 9-4 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. Witt and the rest of the Kansas City offense had a quiet afternoon in the loss to their AL Central rivals. Overall, he's batting .246 with 12 homers, 41 runs, 36 RBI, and 22 steals, which ranks him third in the American League. |

Wed Jun 14 2023 | 00:37 | Bobby Witt Jr. Hits 11th Homer Tuesday |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Reds. The third-inning blast was the 23-year-old's 11th of the season. Witt Jr. has had a somewhat frustrating season from a fantasy perspective, as his 11 HR, 30 RBI, and 21 stolen bases are good but his .237 batting average is not. Overall, he has still provided a good amount of fantasy value for managers, who should continue to rely on him despite the low average. |

Sat Jun 10 2023 | 20:21 | Bobby Witt Jr. Reaches Once, Caught Stealing |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a single and was caught stealing in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. There wasn't much offense to go around for the Royals as Cole Irvin and the rock-solid Orioles bullpen only allowed one run. Witt Jr. reached once with a single in the top of the sixth inning but was promptly caught stealing for the fifth time this year. Witt Jr. has picked it up at the plate over the last 15 contests, batting .279 with a .443 slugging percentage but his overall batting line still leaves a lot to be desired. For the season, the 22-year-old is slashing .235/.267/.412 with 10 home runs, 27 RBI, and 20 steals over 260 at-bats. |

Witt Jr. should continue to shine in fantasy baseball despite playing for the struggling Royals. |

Mon May 22 2023 | 19:06 | Bobby Witt Jr. Dropped To Sixth In Batting Order |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has been dropped to sixth in the batting order on Monday against the Detroit Tigers and right-hander Michael Lorenzen. It's the lowest spot in the order that Witt has occupied so far this year, and he's mostly been KC's leadoff hitter. But the 22-year-old has been slumping at the plate of late and is hitting only .226 (44-for-195) with seven doubles, a league-leading four triples, seven home runs, 19 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 29 runs scored in 47 games. He's gone just 8-for-45 (.178) with a homer, four RBI and 12 strikeouts in his last 11 games played. Hopefully the drop in the order will give Witt some better pitches to hit, but his DFS appeal will obviously take a hit. Outfielder Nick Pratto is serving as the team's leadoff hitter on Monday. |

Kansas City Royals infielder Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI, and two strikeouts in a 9-6 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Witt Jr. had a nice little day at the dish, swatting a two-run double in the top of the second inning and belting his seventh long ball of the year in the ninth. His batting average and OBP are still far from where fantasy managers would like to see it but he makes up for it with his pop and speed. Overall, the 22-year-old is slashing .233/.271/.442 with seven home runs, 18 RBI, and 12 stolen bases across 172 at-bats on the season. |

The 22-year-old is starting at shortstop and leading off against Sean Manaea and the San Francisco Giants. Witt Jr. has gotten off to a sluggish start this season, posting a subpar .148/.233/.259 triple-slash line to go along with one home run, three RBI, and a stolen base across 27 at-bats. Fantasy owners should remain patient as he's a legitimate 30/30 candidate. |

Fri Apr 7 2023 | 14:37 | Bobby Witt Jr. To Miss Friday's Game |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. This appears to be a routine rest day for the 22-year-old slugger. Thu Apr 6 2023 | 18:45 | Bobby Witt Jr. Homers For First Time In 2023 |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-5 on Thursday with his first home run of the season. Witt has struggled in the early going, hitting just .154, so hopefully, this performance breaks him out of his slump. Witt's home run came off reliever Trevor Richards. He was leading off again in this one but has also hit second and third this season. The young phenom has five strikeouts compared to four hits and he's stolen just one bag this season, so it's been a slow start all around. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry, however, as he should be among the game's top this year. |

Sun Feb 5 2023 | 13:19 | Royals Exploring Extensions For Bobby Witt Jr., Others |
The Kansas City Royals have started exploring contract extensions for their young core of players and will continue to do so over the next year, according to general manager J.J. Picollo. Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., starting pitcher Brady Singer and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino are among those in that group. The Royals are currently in rebuilding mode, but they'd like to lock in their core for years to come. Witt, a former second overall pick in 2019, didn't disappoint as a full-time starter in his first MLB season, as he slashed .254/.294/.428 with a .722 OPS, 20 home runs, 80 RBI, 82 runs scored and 30 stolen bases in 150 games. Mon Aug 1 2022 | 18:31 | Bobby Witt Jr. To Sit Out On Monday |
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (hamstring, hand) was hit by a pitch in the hand and forced to exit early during Sunday's game. Now, the Royals are going to play it safe and keep Witt out of the lineup for Monday's contest. He has been dealing with a hamstring issue as well, so the Royals don't want to risk it. This doesn't sound like the type of injury that is going to force Witt to the injured list. Fantasy managers should expect Witt back in the lineup within the next day or two. |

In his first big-league season, he's hitting .258/.301/.459 with 14 long balls, 51 RBI, 51 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 353 at-bats. |
