Ludwick sat out his seventh straight game Thursday and is expected to miss another game or two, but he'll be fine once the playoffs roll around. "The luxury is we've clinched the division and we have six more games until postseason," he said. "I want to make sure I'm right before I go out there because I don't want it to be wrong for the next month."

Though Ryan Ludwick (groin) is not in the Reds' lineup again Wednesday, acting manager Chris Speier said that the outfielder has "gotten over the hump."
"I think he's gotten over the hump," Speier said. "We're [looking] for him to start maybe doing some real strong weight-bearing things on that hip and groin area and see if we can get some baseball things involved with that." Ludwick has sat out six straight games, and it sounds like he'll likely miss some more, but his groin ailment isn't a major concern.

The Reds took the first game. Ludwick has seven home runs and 17 RBI in 17 games this month, carrying a wide load for the Cincinnati offense in the absence of Joey Votto. He's an obvious must-start in fantasy leagues, now with 25 total bombs and 69 total RBI. His OPS is a cool .926.

Ryan Ludwick hit his 16th and 17th homers Saturday in the Reds' 9-7 win over the Rockies.
The Reds were outhit 13-9 in the game, but they made up for that with five homers, with Todd Frazier, Drew Stubbs and Scott Rolen joining Ludwick in going deep. Ludwick has 17 homers in 254 at-bats for the season, with 12 of those coming since the beginning of June.
