Ishikawa has played two in a row because Mat Gamel ha sa sore shoulder. Gamel is doing just fine at the plate so far, so Ishikawa still isn't in line for much playing time if Gamel proves heatlhy.

Giants sent 1B Travis Ishikawa outright to Triple-A Fresno.
Ishikawa successfully cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Giants last week. It's a little surprising nobody picked him up, but he's certainly useful depth to have around at the Triple-A level.

Fri Mar 18 201123:46Travis Ishikawa getting some time in OF
Travis Ishikawa has seen some reps in the outfield in spring training in an effort to increase his versatility.
According to Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News, Ishikawa "looked good" in the outfield on Friday. Though proving to be adequate in the outfield might help his chances at winning a roster spot, he's still not guaranteed of one, and it sounds like he knows it. "There aren't going to be any hard feelings if something was to happen," Ishikawak said. "If it does, I'll understand it, and hopefully I'll be going somewhere where I have a chance to play."

Fri Oct 29 201018:57Ishikawa likely to start Saturday
Giants manager Bruce Bochy has indicated that he'll likely start Travis Ishikawa at first base and Aubrey Huff at DH in Game 3 of the World Series.
That means the bench for Pat Burrell, who is hitting just .176 in 34 at-bats this postseason. Ishikawa has yet to start this postseason, picking up two hits in seven pinch-hit at-bats. He's a big upgrade defensively at first base, but the Giants would be sacrificing offense here even though Burrell is struggling.

Sun Jul 11 201016:51Ishikawa drives in three as Giants roll
Travis Ishikawa drove in three runs as the Giants beat the Nationals 6-2 on Sunday.
Ishikawa lead off the scoring with a two-run single in the first, then added an sacrifice fly in the third. Given a chance to play against right-handers since Bengie Molina departed, Ishikawa is 11-for-26 with a homer and 11 RBI in seven starts since the trade. Ishikawa is something of an underrated hitter, and he could be of use to those in NL-only leagues the remainder of the season.
Mon Jul 5 201013:33Ishikawa starting third game in a row at 1B
Travis Ishikawa is starting his third game in a row for the Giants on Monday against the Brewers.
Ishikawa has seen a bump in playing time ever since the Giants moved Bengie Molina to the Rangers and began using Buster Posey more at catcher. He's done well with the boost in responsibility, but should only be of use to NL-only leaguers because first base is such a loaded position.

Sat Jul 3 201023:40Ishikawa hits grand slam in win over Rockies
Travis Ishikawa hit a grand slam on Saturday as the Giants picked up an 11-8 win over the Rockies.
Ishikawa is expected to see a boost in playing time now that Bengie Molina is out of San Francisco and Buster Posey will make most of his starts behind the plate. The Seattle native is off to a strong start and warrants monitoring in almost every NL-only format league.
Thu Jul 1 201019:08Ishikawa to see more playing time
With Bengie Molina now in Texas, Travis Ishikawa figures to see a boost in playing time.
Buster Posey had been dividing his time between catcher and first base, so now that he'll be a fixture behind the plate, that frees up some at-bats at first for Ishikawa, who will get a start in the series against the Rockies. He is a fine glove man, and Ishikawa is batting over .300 in limited playing time so far this season, but we doubt he'll do enough to be worthy even in NL-only leagues.

Wed Apr 21 201008:54Bochy to give Ishikawa more playing time
Giants manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged on Tuesday that he'll need to find Travis Ishikawa more playing time in order to keep his swing sharp.
"I know I'm going to have to give him a start to get him more at-bats," said Bochy. Ishikawa has appeared in 10 of the Giants' first 14 games, however he is the only position player on the Opening Day roster who has yet to start a game.
