The 25-year-old is now batting .280/.353/.413 with seven extra-base hits, 12 RBI and a 15/8 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 20 games for Las Vegas. den Dekker struggled in his first taste of the major leagues last season, posting a .546 OPS with a 23/4 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 27 games. He's been swinging a hot bat of late, highlighted by a 1.036 OPS and nine RBI in his last 10 contests, but the Mets still opted to recall Bobby Abreu earlier this week to provide outfield depth. |

It will be interesting to see how much work he'll get in center field given how solid Juan Lagares has been defensively, but he should see a fair amount of playing time either way. Keep an eye on him in NL-only fantasy leagues. |

Den Dekker is the Mets' best defensive center fielder, but his bat has always been in question. After a couple of very good months in Double-A last year, he went up to Triple-A and hit .220/.256/.373 in 295 at-bats. For that reason, it's doubtful he'll make the Mets out of spring training. If he improves in Triple-A, he'll probably get a shot. |

The 24-year-old strikes out quite a bit, but his pop and strong defense in center field makes him pretty interesting. He could find his way to the majors by the end of this season. |
