Tue Mar 1216:02Josh Lowe Still A Week From Game Action
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe (hip) has progressed to hitting in the batting cage and taking fly balls in camp, but he is still a week away from playing in a game, and manager Kevin Cash said it's realistic he could be ready for Opening Day on March 28. However, the skipper isn't confident in it yet. The 26-year-old has been recovering from an injured left hip in spring training but is making progress. If Lowe does have to begin the season on the injured list, it would likely be a short stint before he made his 2024 debut. Despite his injury, Lowe remains a very attractive low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 fantasy outfielder because of his power/speed upside. Lowe hit an impressive .292 with 20 home runs, 83 RBI, 32 stolen bases and 71 runs scored in 2023.

Wed Mar 614:52Josh Lowe Probably Out Another Week
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe (hip) is progressing but is not yet ready for full baseball activities. Rays skipper Kevin Cash said "probably another week if all goes well" in regards to Lowe's projected timetable to return to the field. The 26-year-old has said he is "confident" he will be ready to go on Opening Day and that still appears to be a realistic scenario. Lowe was excellent at the dish in the 2023 season, hitting .292 with 20 home runs, 32 stolen bases, 83 RBI, and an .835 OPS across 135 games and 501 trips to the plate. His power/speed combination entering his prime is extremely attractive as fantasy managers would be wise to capitalize on his 81.8 ADP for the 2024 campaign.

Tue Mar 512:32Josh Lowe Confident He'll Be Ready For Opening Day
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe (hip) said his left hip is feeling better. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday and could resume baseball activities in the next couple days at camp. Lowe remains confident that he will be ready and full-go before Opening Day on March 28. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter has been shut down the last couple of days due to left-hip inflammation, but it shouldn't keep him from being ready for the start of the 2024 regular season. He should be considered a low-end No. 2 fantasy outfielder in upcoming drafts due to his power/speed combination as a regular for Tampa. The former 13th overall pick in 2016 broke out in his first full year in the big leagues last year, hitting .292/.335/.500 with an .835 OPS, 20 home runs, 83 RBI, 32 stolen bases and 71 runs scored in 135 games played.

Thu Feb 2912:04Josh Lowe To Be Shut Down For Six Days
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe (hip) has left-hip inflammation and will be shut down in camp from baseball activities for six days, and he is unlikely to play in a game for 10 to 15 days. Manager Kevin Cash said they are "not overly concerned" and don't think it will impact Lowe's status for Opening Day in late March. The 26-year-old could still be ready for Opening Day, but he basically has no room for a setback of any kind, and even if he's ready, he could be rusty early on after missing a bunch of Grapefruit League action. It's something to consider for fantasy managers, but Lowe's value shouldn't be too negatively affected as long as he doesn't miss extended time to open the season. The left-handed hitter slugged 20 homers and stole 32 bases in 2023, so he's a pretty attractive power/speed threat.

Thu Feb 2900:46Josh Lowe Doubles To Extend Spring Hitting Streak
Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Josh Lowe went 1-for-2 with a double during Tuesday's Spring Training game against the New York Yankees. He ultimately came around to score. The 26-year-old has now logged a hit in three consecutive Spring Training games dating back to 2023. Of course, his offensive contributions extend beyond the Grapefruit League. Lowe was one of Tampa Bay's top hitters last regular season, slashing .292/.335/.500 with 20 home runs. He also demonstrated his impact on the basepaths, swiping 32 bags on 35 attempts. With solid power and impressive base-stealing skills, Lowe figures to remain a strong fantasy baseball option in 2024.

Wed Oct 4 202312:02Josh Lowe Gets The Start In Game 2
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is playing right field and batting cleanup in Game 2 of the wild-card series on Wednesday against the visiting Texas Rangers and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Lowe was on the bench for Game 1 with the Rangers throwing a left-hander, but he did draw a walk as a pinch-hitter late in the loss. With Lowe in the lineup as the Rays look to keep their season alive, Jose Siri will retreat to the bench. Lowe had a strong .292 average (136-for-466) with a career-high 20 home runs and 32 stolen bases in 135 games played. Against righties, he hit .300 (121-for-403) with 18 of his homer, 73 RBI and 30 steals. In five career at-bats against Eovaldi, Lowe has three hits (one double) and two walks.

Wed Aug 16 202320:49Josh Lowe Blasts A Solo Shot Against Giants
On Wednesday, Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe went 2-for-5 and smacked a solo home run as the Rays beat the Giants 6-1. Lowe added to Tampa Bay's early lead in the fourth inning by launching a solo homer to center field off San Francisco right-handed reliever Ross Stripling. It was his 15th home run of the season and his first long ball since July 31st. The 25-year-old has posted an impressive .272 batting average with 49 runs, 15 home runs, 59 RBI, and 24 swiped bags in 338 trips to the batter's box.

Mon Aug 14 202320:15Josh Lowe To Start On The Bench Against Giants
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is not in the starting lineup on Monday as the team takes on the San Francisco Giants. The Rays are going with a right-handed-heavy lineup with left-hander Sean Manaea set to serve as the bulk reliever for San Fran after right-handed opener Ryan Walker. With Lowe starting on the bench, Manuel Margot will start in right field and bat ninth in the order for Tampa. The 25-year-old left-handed-hitting Lowe has been a great source of power and speed in all fantasy leagues this year. He's currently batting .273 (90-for-330) with 14 homers, 58 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 48 runs scored in 97 games. However, he's gone just 6-for-31 (.194) with one of his 14 long balls against southpaws in 2023.

Thu Aug 10 202317:29Josh Lowe Retreats To The Bench
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe will start on the bench on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals and left-hander Matthew Liberatore. The Rays are going with a right-handed heavy lineup against the southpaw in the series finale, so Lowe will get a day off. Lowe has been a fantasy contributor across the board in 2023 in his third major-league season. He's currently slashing a healthy .274/.319/.487 with an .806 OPS, 14 home runs, 22 doubles, two triples, 58 RBI, 22 stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 342 trips to the plate and 94 games. However, he's at the Mendoza Line (.200) with only one homer against lefties on the year. Manuel Margot is starting in right field on Thursday and batting eighth against Liberatore.

Tue Jul 11 202314:16Josh Lowe Reinstated From Emergency Medical List
The Tampa Bay Rays reinstated outfielder Josh Lowe from the family medical emergency list on Tuesday and optioned infielder Jonathan Aranda to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Lowe had to leave the team last weekend and missed the final two games of the first half of the season, but he'll be back with the team when they kick off the second half on Friday for the start of a series against the Kansas City Royals on the road. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter should be rostered in all fantasy leagues after hitting an impressive .276 (71-for-257) with 12 home runs, 18 doubles, 48 RBI, 19 stolen bases and 36 runs scored in 74 games (274 plate appearances) in his first full MLB season.

Sat Jul 8 202316:11Josh Lowe Placed On Medical Emergency List
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe has been placed on the family medical emergency list on Saturday. It's uncertain what is exactly going on, but the expectation is that Lowe is going to miss the final two games before the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to wait and see if Lowe misses more time than that. In a corresponding move, infielder Jonathan Aranda has been recalled from the minors. He was slashing 342/.455/.589 with 16 homers and 56 RBI through 71 games at Triple-A Durham. Hopefully he's able to carry that momentum into the big league level.

Tue Jun 27 202321:05Josh Lowe On The Bench Again Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is on the bench for Tuesday's game against right-hander Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks. It's his second day off in a row after he sat out Sunday with a lefty on the hill. Lowe is hitting just .234 in June with a .562 OPS, so this might be a chance for him to reset. Instead, the Rays will run out Manuel Margot in the outfield, and he'll bat seventh. The 28-year-old is batting .266 over 62 games with three bombs, 29 runs, 26 RBI, and seven stolen bases. Margot has some value in almost all formats as a streaming option with his speed and bat-to-ball skills.

Sat May 27 202313:59Josh Lowe Sitting On Saturday Against Dodgers
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. As has been the case all season, Lowe is on the bench against a left-handed pitcher. Clayton Kershaw is getting the start in this one but Lowe could come off the bench later in the contest as a pinch-hitter. The 25-year-old has put together a fantastic season so far for the Rays, slashing .306/.358/.612 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI, and 10 steals over 147 at-bats.

Sat May 20 202309:38Josh Lowe Continues To Lead Off
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is breaking out at the dish this season, slashing .305/.364/.625 with 10 bombs, 26 runs, 30 RBI, and eight steals over 37 games. Manager Kevin Cash has rewarded his play, moving him up to the leadoff spot the past three games, including Friday's 1-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. That might not last, as Yandy Diaz (groin) remains day-to-day and doesn't seem to need a stint on the injured list, so when the 31-year-old returns, he'll likely reclaim his role at the top of the lineup. However, fantasy managers can assume Lowe will lead off whenever Diaz is out of the lineup. The former first-round draft pick should be rostered in every league, with excellent numbers in every category.

Thu May 11 202321:55Josh Lowe Drives In Five On Thursday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe went 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, two runs, and five RBI in an 8-2 win over the New York Yankees on Thursday. Lowe broke the game open with a three-run double in the sixth inning and later added a two-run homer in the eighth inning. The blast traveled 435 feet and had an exit velocity of 107.3 MPH. Lowe is off to an excellent start with the Rays, hitting .314 with eight homers, 21 runs, 25 RBI, and six steals across 102 at-bats.

Tue May 2 202315:28Josh Lowe Sitting Again On Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's a bad sign that Lowe has been on the bench for the Rays in three of their last six games, all against right-handed opponents. There just isn't enough playing time to go around for the 25-year-old left-handed hitter now that Jose Siri has returned from a stay on the injured list. Hopefully the Rays will be able to get Lowe back in the lineup soon for those that have him rostered in fantasy leagues, as he's gone 26-for-76 (.342) with seven doubles, five home runs, 18 RBI, five stolen bases and 17 runs scored in his first 21 games this year.

Fri Apr 28 202318:46Josh Lowe To Sit Out On Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. It's the second time in the last three games that Lowe has sat out versus right-handed pitching. It appears the return of outfielder Jose Siri has begun to cut into Lowe's playing time. Lowe is slashing .348/.384/.623 with four homers, 17 RBI and four stolen bases in 19 games this season. The expectation is that he'll return to the lineup after his rest day here.

Tue Apr 25 202316:18Josh Lowe Moves Up To Cleanup Spot Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe will move to the cleanup spot for the first time this season against the Houston Astros and right-hander Luis Garcia. Lowe has largely hit seventh or eighth this season but moves up to the four-hole for tonight's contest. The lineup promotion shouldn't come as a surprise considering Lowe is hitting a robust .333 with four homers, four stolen bases, and a 1.025 OPS across 64 trips to the plate on the season. Considering the youngster scuffled to a .221 average with two HR and 3 SB in 52 games last season, the Rays are surely thrilled with his production on the young season. He is also manning right field once again but has also mixed in four starts in center field on the campaign.

Mon Apr 10 202310:27Josh Lowe Collects Two RBI In Sunday's Win
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and two RBI in Sunday's 11-0 win over the A's. In Sunday's victory, he drove in both runs with a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single. The 25-year-old is off to a hot start, slashing .364/.417/.682 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs across six games in 2023. The Rays placed outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list. Lowe should see an uptick in at-bats while Siri is sidelined. Fantasy managers searching for outfield help should look to add Lowe in all league formats.

Sun Jul 31 202211:08Josh Lowe Optioned To Triple-A
The Tampa Bay Rays optioned rookie outfielder Josh Lowe to Triple-A Durham on Sunday to make room for recently acquired outfielder David Peralta on the active MLB roster. In 52 games for the Rays since his promotion, Lowe hit only .221/.284/.343 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored, three stolen bases and 66 strikeouts in 198 plate appearances for the Rays. Whenever the 24-year-old returns to the big leagues, he'll return to a seven-game hitting streak. He'll need to cut down on his strikeout rate when he returns to the Rays if he wants to see regular playing time. Lowe will return to a .299/.382/.540 slash line with a .922 OPS, six home runs, 35 RBI, 22 runs scored and six stolen bases at Durham.
