OF Brandon Guyer matched a career high with four hits, scoring twice and driving in the other run in a 3-2 win over Chicago. He reached base eight times in his last two games, and continues to make a case for more regular work after working almost exclusively against left-handers in the first two weeks of the season.

OF Brandon Guyer, filling in for an injured Kevin Kiermaier, had his first RBI of 2016 on a solo home run and reached base two other times.

OF Brandon Guyer avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.8 million deal on Friday.

Guyer is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins, Roger Mooney of The Tampa Tribune reports.

Guyer will receive the day off Wednesday following a 1-for-4 night at the dish with two strikeouts Tuesday. John Jaso will replace him in left field, leading off for the Rays.

Guyer will leadoff against the Tigers on Monday.

With lefty Randy Wolf on the mound for the Tigers, Guyer will take over in left field for Grady Sizemore --- a tactic the platoon-conscious Rays have deployed often throughout the season. Guyer has been effective against lefties this year, slashing .280/.441/.836 with five homers and 17 RBI in 143 at-bats this season.

Guyer went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Royals.

Guyer primarily enters the lineup as the leadoff hitter against left-handed pitching for the platoon-conscious Rays, an arrangement that worked out successfully Sunday with the Royals starting Danny Duffy. The outfielder took Duffy deep for his sixth homer of the season, upping his line against southpaws to an impressive .273/.393/.439.

Guyer is not in the lineup Friday against the Royals, Steve Carney of WDAE 620 AM reports.

With Desmond Jennings hitting the disabled list with a knee injury, Guyer could be in line to see more regular playing time. He drew the start Thursday in right field, but he'll take a seat for Friday's contest as Daniel Nava will fill in at right field and Grady Sizemore in left.

Guyer is on the bench Sunday against the Rangers for the fourth time in five games, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.

With Desmond Jennings (knee) returning from the disabled list Friday, it appears Guyer will be most at risk at losing everyday at-bats. Though Grady Sizemore doesn't look like a long-term solution at the other corner outfield spot, his renewed power stroke of late will confine Guyer to a reserve role for the time being.

Guyer will see the field more due to the hole in right field created by Steven Souza's injury, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Guyer's main role in 2015 has been as the leadoff hitter and left fielder against left-handed starters, but the Rays have also used him in center when they need him and sometimes near the back of the lineup against right-handed starters. He should figure to see more starts in right field and against right-handed hitters, but the Rays outfield is still crowded enough that it shouldn't be a huge jump.

Guyer will bat leadoff as the Rays' center fielder on Saturday.

Guyer is getting his first start since Wednesday and will face lefty Wade Miley. He's batting .288 with six extra base hits against lefty starters on the season but only has three career at-bats against Miley.

Guyer will pick up his fifth start in six games Sunday against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Guyer typically finds himself in the lineup mostly against left-handers, but each of his last two starts have come with righties on the mound. He'll be bumped down from his usual leadoff spot to second in the order Sunday, but the fact that Guyer merely in the lineup suggests that he might be ahead of David DeJesus in the pecking order for at-bats in the outfield.

Guyer collected three base knocks in Saturday's victory, but will sit for the second time this series. With Kevin Kiermaier and Steven Souza fully healthy, Guyer may see less reps than he's accustomed to, but it will be tough to continue holding him out of the lineup while he's swinging a hot bat.

Guyer went 3-for-4 Saturday with two doubles and a run scored.

He's put together an eight game hitting streak, boosting his slash line on the season to .295/.365/.420. The Rays outfield is a little crowded right now, but Guyer should continue seeing regular at-bats while he remains hot.

Guyer is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles.

Kevin Kiermaier and Steven Souza are both healthy enough to take the field Friday and David DeJesus will also be deployed in the outfield with Joey Butler serving as the DH. Guyer has been playing quite a bit and has a seven-game hitting streak going, but he has zero extra-base hits in his last eight games.

Guyer shined again from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 in Friday's win over the Athletics.

Guyer is now up to a .289/.375/.422 line with five steals, which is pretty ideal for a leadoff man. Friday's game illustrated his major limitation though, when the Rays swapped him out for lefty David DeJesus. Guyer pretty much only sees the leadoff spot against a left-handed starter and is going to have massively limited value as long as the Rays keep him in that role. Curiously, he actually has a higher batting average against righties (.293 to .286).

Guyer is not in the lineup Monday against the Red Sox, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.

Guyer has been seeing regular starts with Desmond Jennings out with an injury and has managed a .259/.369/.407 slash line, but will get the day off for the second time in three games. David DeJesus will start in left while Joey Butler will be tabbed as the DH.

Guyer blew up for four RBI and a home run from the lead-off spot in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

Guyer had three total RBI and no home runs going into this game, so to say this was unexpected would be an understatement. Definitely don't expect him to put numbers like these, but he's still rocking a .380 OBP, which the Rays will definitely take from the leadoff spot.

Guyer will start in left field and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.

Guyer will slot in atop the order for the second time this season as Kevin Kiermaier sits against lefty Daniel Norris. While Guyer has gotten off to a 2-for-11 start to 2015, he owns a .260/.3221/.396 career line against southpaws.

Guyer will bat leadoff and start in left field Tuesday night against Wei-Yin Chen and the Orioles, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

Guyer replaces Kevin Kiermaier in the outfield against southpaws, with Desmond Jennings sliding over to center to accommodate the slower of his two outfield mates. While Guyer could be a regular in the leadoff role against lefties, the Rays aren't scheduled to face another one until next Wednesday in Toronto.

Guyer (ankle) has a pair of multi-hit games since returning to the lineup from an ankle injury last week.

He'll likely break camp as platoon option, splitting time between the outfield and DH. Now 29 years old, Guyer's prospect status faded a few years ago, but the Rays may be able to maximize his value by using him predominantly against left-handed pitching.
