Mon Aug 26 201322:44Cliff Lee beats Mets for 11th victory
Cliff Lee pitched eight innings of one-run ball, striking out seven, in a victory over the Mets on Monday.
Despite getting just two runs of support, Lee won for the first time since July 5. He might be having more fun right now had the Phillies traded him to a contender last month. On the plus side, he does have 11 wins this year with practically the same ERA that got him six victories in 30 starts last season.

Wed Aug 21 201322:46Lee gives up two runs in no-decision vs. Rox
Cliff Lee allowed two runs on nine hits in seven innings of a no-decision against the Rockies on Wednesday.
Lee's night started a bit, well, rocky as he allowed two second-inning runs, but he rebounded to blank the Rockies for five more innings before exiting. He gave up the nine hits but didn't walk a batter, striking out six. He's still winless since July 5 despite owning a 3.16 ERA for the year, a touching homage to his disastrous 2012 season. He'll try to get back in the win column Monday against the Mets at Citi Field.

Fri Aug 16 201322:45Lee gives up three innings in loss to Dodgers
Cliff Lee yielded three runs over eight innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday.
Lee only made a couple of mistakes, including a two-run homer by Hanley Ramirez in the fourth inning, but the margin for error was pretty thin with Zack Greinke rolling. It was his longest start since June 24, so perhaps the neck is feeling better. Still, he has lost four consecutive decisions and owns a 5.17 ERA over six starts since the start of July. He'll attempt to get back on track against the Rockies next week at home.

Sat Aug 10 201322:06Cliff Lee allows three runs in loss to Nats
Cliff Lee gave up three earned runs in six innings Saturday as the Phillies fell to the Nationals.
Lee escaped with a no-decision because the Nats didn't break through until the seventh inning. The veteran left-hander has now been roughed up in back-to-back starts since skipping a turn in the Phillies' rotation with a stiff neck and his struggles actually date back much farther than that. Lee may have trouble getting on track next week against the red-hot Dodgers.

Wed Jul 31 201310:48Report: Phillies won't trade Cliff Lee
Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM hears that Cliff Lee will not be traded on Wednesday.
The Red Sox made the most sense as a potential destination, but Tuesday's acquisition of Jake Peavy essentially takes them out of the running. Considering the asking price and the salary remaining on Lee's contract, it's hard to see someone else jumping in.

Tue Jul 30 201313:21Red Sox feel Cliff Lee trade is unlikely
Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Red Sox feel a trade for Phillies' left-hander Cliff Lee is "highly unlikely."
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe write Tuesday morning that "every indication" says the Phillies won't settle for anything less than prospect infielder Xander Bogaerts. If the price is going to be that high, the Red Sox will look elsewhere. Brown hears that the Astros' Bud Norris and Jake Peavy of the White Sox are both in play.

Mon Jul 29 201323:35Red Sox talking deals for Peavy, Lee, Young
Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that the Red Sox are "still talking" on Jake Peavy, Cliff Lee and Michael Young, "but the price across the board remains too high."
It's certainly possible the price will drop before Wednesday's deadline. The Red Sox seem intent on adding at least one big piece, and Peavy is probably much likelier of an option than Lee, who will take multiple prospects plus a heavy salary commitment.

Mon Jul 29 201313:38Phillies asking price on Lee 'extremely high'
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman hears that the asking price for left-hander Cliff Lee is "extremely high."
"[Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. is] telling people it'll take you three or four best prospects, plus you'd have to take all the money," a competing executive told Heyman on Monday. Lee, 34, is owed $25 million in 2014, another $25 million in 2015, and he carries a $27.5 million vesting option (or a $12.5 million buyout) for 2016. He seems likely to ultimately stay put in Philadelphia.

Fri Jul 26 201318:34Report: Multiple teams going after Cliff Lee
ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that multiple teams are making trade offers for Phillies' left-hander Cliff Lee.
It's not clear which teams are in the mix, but the Red Sox, Braves, Indians, Cardinals, Pirates, and Dodgers are reportedly looking for starting pitching help. Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. wouldn't comment on teams' interest in Lee, but he said that he's keeping an open mind with his players. Lee is still owed $25 million in each of the next two seasons while his contract includes a $27.5 million club option for 2016 and a $12.5 million buyout. He has the ability to block trades to 21 clubs.

Uggla eventually came around to score on a sacrifice fly, closing the book on Lee for the night. The southpaw struck out four and walked none in the win and now holds a 2.73 ERA for the year. Tue Jun 25 201301:49Lee stuck with a tough-luck no-decision
Cliff Lee held the Padres to two runs over eight innings, but was stuck with a tough-luck no-decision in San Diego's 4-3, 10-inning win.
He struck out seven and walked one. Lee was absolutely dealing through eight shutout innings. He entered the ninth with a 3-0 lead and promptly surrendered hits to the first two batters he faced. Jonathan Papelbon allowed both inherited runners to score, sullying Lee's line. The left-hander remains 9-2 to go with a 2.51 ERA.

Tue Jun 18 201323:52Lee dominates Nationals in 4-2 Phillies win
Cliff Lee held the Nationals to two runs over eight innings in the Phillies' 4-2 win on Tuesday.
It was classic Lee, as he allowed two solo home runs but just five hits total on the evening. He also had nine strikeouts and no walks for the night, moving him to a 98:17 K:BB ratio on the year. The left-hander's name has been mentioned in trade rumors of late, but wherever he pitches he'll continue to be one of the best starters in the game. His next start will come Monday in San Diego.

Thu Jun 13 201323:45Cliff Lee leaves early due to blister
Cliff Lee left Thursday's start due to a blister.
Lee had already thrown 101 pitches through seven innings, so the Phillies were probably just playing it safe by removing him early. He should be OK for next week's start against the Nationals.
