Thu Jun 20 201323:24Chad Gaudin exits after taking liner of arm
Chad Gaudin left Thursday's start against the Marlins in the fifth inning after taking a line drive off the pitching arm.
Gaudin threw a couple pitches after taking the Justin Ruggiano liner and looked to be fine, but the Giants were probably worried it would stiffen up on him. The righty has pitched well while filling in for Ryan Vogelsong, and his loss would hurt a team that already has a lack of depth. An update on his status should be provided after the game.

Sat Jun 15 201319:39Gaudin not sharp in no-decision vs. Braves
Chad Gaudin allowed four runs in five innings and took a no-decision as the Giants lost to the Braves.
It was easily the worst of Gaudin's three starts, as he gave up eight hits and a walk, including two B.J. Upton homers. More concerning, he didn't strike out a batter in the start. He's still been more good than bad in his starts, so he'll likely get another shot when the Giants face the Marlins on Thursday.

Sun Jun 9 201319:17Gaudin posts second straight quality start
Chad Gaudin gave up two runs on five hits over six innings in Sunday's win against the Diamondbacks.
He allowed just one walk and finished with seven strikeouts. Gaudin now has back-to-back quality starts and should continue to have value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues. He has a chance to claim a regular spot in the Giants' rotation with Ryan Vogelsong on the disabled list.

Gaudin allowed two runs over six innings Saturday in his first start since 2009. With Ryan Vogelsong on the DL, the Giants will continue to go with Gaudin as their fifth starter. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 2.21 ERA and 1.15 WHIP this season.

Sun Jun 2 201317:44Chad Gaudin looks good in first start
Chad Gaudin's first start in the majors since 2009 was a good one, as he held the Cardinals to two runs over six innings in the 4-2 victory.
He struck out five, didn't walk anyone and allowed just four hits. David Freese got to Gaudin with a two-out, two-run homer to tie things up in the fourth, but that was all the Cards could muster against the journeyman. Gaudin has no doubt earned another start, which will come next weekend in Arizona.

Fri May 31 201318:48Gaudin to start Sunday against Cardinals
Chad Gaudin will start Sunday against the Cardinals.
Mike Kickham struggled filling in for Ryan Vogelsong (hand) earlier this week, so now Gaudin will get a shot. The 30-year-old has a 2.05 ERA and 28 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings out of the Giants' bullpen this season, but he hasn't started a game in the majors since 2009. He doesn't make for a great play for fantasy purposes.

Wed May 29 201319:57Chad Gaudin to start for Giants Sunday
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Chad Gaudin is likely to start Sunday in St. Louis.
The Giants gave Mike Kickham the first shot at Ryan Vogelsong's (hand) sport, but he really struggled Tuesday and was sent back down. Gaudun boasts a 2.05 ERA and 1.24 WHIP as the club's long reliever but hasn't made a start in the majors since 2009. He can be avoided for fantasy purposes against the Cardinals.

Fri May 24 201309:27Chad Gaudin could move into rotation
Chad Gaudin could get a shot in the Giants' rotation following the injury to Ryan Vogelsong (hand).
Gaudin has been great in long relief for San Francisco this season, posting a 2.08 ERA and 1.19 WHIP while striking out nearly a batter per inning. He's thrown more than two innings just once this month, though, so he's obviously not as stretched out as you'd hope. Manager Bruce Bochy and GM Brian Sabean have also noted that Gaudin is very valuable in his current role. Other options to replace Vogelsong include Shane Loux and Mike Kickham.

Chad Gaudin (shoulder) played catch Monday.
It was the first time he had played catch in a few weeks. He's not close to going out on a minor league rehab assignment, so there's no clear timetable on his return. The 28-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since the end of April with right shoulder inflammation.

Chad Gaudin tossed five innings of shutout ball as a Nationals split-squad edged a Mets split-squad 6-5 on Thursday.
Gaudin struck out six in the gem. He's still a big long shot to claim a spot in the Nationals' rotation, but this will help his chances of making the team as a middle reliever.

Sat Mar 5 201116:22Nats' Gaudin fades quickly in fourth
Chad Gaudin allowed five runs -- three earned -- in three-plus innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Yankees.
Gaudin opened with three scoreless innings, but he failed to retire even one of the five batters he faced in the fourth. The Yankees ended up scoring eight times in the inning to ruin Gaudin's day. The veteran is a long shot to crack Washington's staff.
