Paul Konerko went 3-for-3 against the Reds on Sunday, bumping his spring batting average to .406.
The veteran has now hit safely in 14 of 16 games, including seven multi-hit efforts in his last 10 contests and four three-hit barrages in his last seven. Thu Feb 2 201204:18Konerko eyes retirement in 1-2 years
In an interview with Comcast SportsNet, Paul Konerko stated that he's considering retiring after the 2012 or 2013 seasons.
"I would see it ending after next year or maybe another year," Konerko said. "At some point you got to go home and be around your kids and have other things to do." He also expressed frustration playing for a team that has been "back at square one" for several years. Konerko led Pale Hose regulars in batting average, homers, RBI, and walks in 2011. The team might have to become a serious title contender soon if they want to keep their stud hitter in tow.

Tue Oct 11 201112:04White Sox introduce new skipper Robin Ventura
White Sox named Robin Ventura as manager.
The hire was announced last week, then made official Tuesday at a press conference in Chicago where Ventura was presented with a No. 23 White Sox jersey. The 44-year-old has almost no managing experience, but he's widely regarded as an intelligent baseball figure and played 10 of his 16 major league seasons with the Pale Hose. He should do a fine job if given the right tools (like, maybe more talent).
