Thu Mar 30 202322:06Reynaldo Lopez Earns First Career Save Thursday
Chicago White Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez was called on to close out Thursday's 3-2 Opening Day victory over the Houston Astros. He gave up one run on one hit but did enough to earn the first save of his seven-year career. Lopez is coming off his best campaign in the majors, where he posted a 2.76 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 24.8% strikeout rate with nine holds across 61 games. With Liam Hendriks out for the time being, it isn't clear who the White Sox's main arm is for the ninth inning, but cearly, Lopez will be in line for his fair share of opportunities. The 29-year-old might not rack up too many saves if they go with a committee, but fantasy managers should be able to count on a handful from him going forward.

Thu Jul 28 202218:05Reynaldo Lopez Placed On Injured List
The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (back) on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with a lower back strain. They'll make a corresponding roster move prior to Thursday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Lopez's injured-list stint is retroactive to July 25. The 28-year-old hasn't pitched since last Saturday due to his injury, and he'll now miss the next two weeks. Lopez has been great for the Pale Hose in a relief role this year, posting a 2.98 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 44 strikeouts and only eight walks in 42 1/3 innings over 37 appearances (one start).

Tue May 10 202208:21Reynaldo Lopez Leaves With Back Tightness On Monday
Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Reynaldo Lopez (back) was removed from Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians after the 10th inning due to lower back tightness. Lopez pitched the full 10th inning and gave up one unearned run and showed no signs of an injury. He went out to the mound to warm up for the 11th inning and was taken out before the inning started, so the injury must have flared up during warm ups. Lopez has made 10 bullpen appearances so far this year and he's pitched to a 3.86 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. He's already been credited with four wins so far this year to go along with two holds.

Mon Feb 21 202208:54Reynaldo Lopez To Have Major Impact In 2022
Chicago White Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez could see significant innings in 2022, according to Vinnie Duber on NBC Sports Chicago. Although Lopez is currently listed as the White Sox sixth starter, he will likely see time as both a reliever and a starter in 2022. He finished the second half of 2021 with a 3.43 ERA, .95 WHIP, and 55 strikeouts across 57 2/3 innings. Lopez could have a major impact for the White Sox and fantasy managers alike if any of the White Sox starters go down for any reason, and can almost certainly be deployed in several spot start matchups against AL Central opponents in 2022.

Thu Sep 9 202118:44Reynaldo Lopez Falls To 3-2
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez went five innings in Thursday's loss versus the Oakland Athletics. Lopez tossed five frames this afternoon and allowed six hits, three runs (one earned), three walks and struck out two. The right-hander has pitched well with the White Sox dealing with injuries to starters Lucas Giolito (hamstring) and Lance Lynn (knee). With Lynn expected back on Sunday and Giolito on Tuesday, the future for Lopez in the rotation remains unclear and it's possible he is sent back to the bullpen. For the season, Lopez is 3-2 with a 2.05 ERA in 16 games (six starts). Lopez can remain on the waiver wire for now.

Sun Sep 5 202109:06Reynaldo Lopez Goes Four Innings In No-Decision
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez went four innings in Saturday's no-decision versus the Kansas City Royals. Lopez filled in nicely when Carlos Rodon missed a few starts last month and with Lucas Giolito (hamstring) and Lance Lynn (knee) both placed on the 10-day injured list earlier this week, Lopez got another chance to start. The right-hander allowed three hits, three runs, one walk and struck out one on the evening. Lopez has been performing well when he has been summoned to make starts for the Pale Hose and he has also pitched well out of the bullpen. Next up for Lopez will be a tough matchup versus the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Lopez is 3-1 with a 2.08 on the season and can be considered in favorable matchups moving forward.

Sun Aug 22 202117:02Reynaldo Lopez Suffers First Loss
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez suffered his first loss of the season on Sunday versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Lopez went four innings and allowed six hits, three runs, zero walks and struck out four on the afternoon. The right-handed has been filling in Carlos Rodon (shoulder), but Rodon is expected to return next week and that will send Lopez to either the bullpen or Triple-A. Lopez is now 2-1 with a 1.86 ERA between the starting rotation and bullpen this season. He can be avoided in all formats with his role moving forward being uncertain.

Sat Aug 21 202111:13Reynaldo Lopez To Be Demoted To Bullpen
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez has been a stellar option in both the rotation and bullpen this season. Thus far, Lopez has posted a 1.08 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 26/7 K/BB ratio across 25 innings (11 appearances, three starts) this season. The 27-year-old has been fantastic, but will soon hand over the rotation spot to lefty Carlos Rodon. It's uncertain if Lopez will make another start before Rodon returns. The move to the bullpen will hurt Lopez significantly in terms of fantasy value.

Tue Aug 17 202122:56Reynaldo Lopez Earns Victory On Tuesday
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez shined in Tuesday's victory versus the Oakland Athletics. Lopez tossed five innings and allowed one hit, zero runs, two walks and struck out four on the evening. The right-hander has filled in admirably for Carlos Rodon (shoulder) and has now tossed eight innings with no runs allowed in two starts filling in for the veteran. Rodon is expected to return to the rotation soon and Lopez will be kicked to the curb when that happens. Lopez is in line to face the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez went three innings in Wednesday's no-decision versus the Minnesota Twins. The right-hander looked good and allowed one hit, zero runs, two walks and struck out four. Lopez got the start with starting pitcher Carlos Rodon (shoulder) placed on the 10-day injured list earlier in the day. Lopez is still getting stretched out, but he will replace Rodon for now. Lopez will be in line to face Oakland Athletics on Tuesday and can be avoided in most formats.

CHICAGO (AP) — Prized Chicago White Sox second baseman Nick Madrigal is headed to the 10-day injured list because of a separated left shoulder.General manager Rick Hahn was optimistic the rookie will return by the end of the month, though he also said Wednesday offseason surgery might be needed.Madrigal was hurt sliding into third trying to advance from first on a single to center at Milwaukee on Tuesday. He had five hits in his first 17 major league at-bats after being called up Friday from the team’s auxiliary site in Schaumburg, Illinois.Hahn also said slugger Edwin Encarnación is day to day after leaving Tuesday’s game because of inflammation near his left shoulder, in the joint between his collarbone and sternum. The White Sox had won six straight prior to Wednesday’s home game against the Brewers.Hahn said Tim Anderson (strained right groin) will begin workouts in Schaumburg on Thursday.
