Sat May 22 2010 | 11:56 | Tejeda (calf) cleared to pitch for Royals |
Robinson Tejeda has been cleared to pitch for the Royals once again after a calf injury sustained on May 14 had sidelined him. |
Tejeda could have pitched on Thursday, but Luke Hochevar threw a complete game instead. He's healthy enough to go, so his usage now will be determined by situation and manager Ned Yost's desires. Tejeda is 2-2 with a 5.57 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP so far this season. |

Tejeda injured his left calf last Friday during pregame warmups. "He's getting better every single day, so I look in terms of him being ready, hopefully, when we get home," manager Ned Yost said Wednesday. The Royals kick off a five-game homestand on Friday against the Rockies. |

Robinson Tejeda injured his left calf during pregame warmups Friday and is considered "day-to-day." |
Tejeda has thrown up a 5.77 ERA in 17 appearances this season. "He strained his calf yesterday, so we're just kind of taking it day-to-day," new Royals manage Ned Yost said. "I don't think it's going to be a DL issue. So we'll just wait." Tejeda was feeling a little better on Saturday. |
