It's the first time he's thrown from a mound since landing on the DL earlier this month. "A good workout," Crain said. He'll throw another bullpen session or batting practice on Tuesday or Wednesday before beginning a rehab assignment Friday. Crain will need just 1-2 rehab appearances, putting him in line to return in about a week.

White Sox placed RHP Jesse Crain on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 24, with right shoulder inflammation.
Tests didn't reveal any structural damage, so Crain should return from the disabled list shortly after the All-Star break if all goes well. Deunte Heath has replaced him on the active roster.

The White Sox remain optimistic that Jesse Crain (shoulder) will be able to avoid the disabled list.
Crain hasn't pitched in a week due to some tightness in his shoulder. While it's encouraging that the Sox still don't think he'll need a DL stint, a decision will have to be made soon if he doesn't start feeling better in a hurry.
