Wed May 13 201516:26Jimmy Rollins: Sitting Wednesday
Rollins is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins, David Vassegh of AM 570 Los Angeles reports.
Rollins collected a pair of hits in Tuesday's win, his first multi-hit game since Apr. 14 and just his fourth of the season, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday in favor of Enrique Hernandez at shortstop. Justin Turner, who is starting at third base, will bat second against right-hander Jarred Cosart.
Thu May 7 201510:39Rollins out of lineup Thursday
Rollins is out of the lineup Thursday.
In a day game following a night game the slumping veteran shortstop will get a rest Thursday. While the Dodgers came into the season with plans of Rollins being the starting shortstop all season and bridging the gap for Corey Seager's arrival, Rollins has not performed close to expectations. He will need to turn things around at the plate over the next couple months to stave off the young phenom in the second half. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at shortstop Thursday.
Sat May 2 201516:42Rollins out of lineup Saturday against Diamondbacks
Rollins is out of the lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Rollins will get his first day off since Apr. 23 on Saturday, with Kike Hernandez starting in his place and batting eighth for the Dodgers. The veteran has struggled at the plate to begin the season, but perhaps a day off will allow him to begin turning things around.
Wed Apr 29 201519:01Rollins will bat second Wednesday against Giants
Rollins will bat second Wednesday against the Giants, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Rollins has struggled mightily of late, with just three hits in his last eight games (29 at-bats), leading manager Don Mattingly to relieve him of leadoff duties at least temporarily. Joc Pederson will take over atop the order Wednesday, and if he provides a spark from the leadoff spot, the skipper may be inclined to stick with this change until Yasiel Puig (hamstring) returns from the DL.
Thu Apr 23 201512:46Rollins out of lineup Thursday
Rollins is out of the lineup Thursday, Dodgers reporter Alanna Rizzo reports.
Justin Turner will get the start at shortstop against Ryan Vogelsong and the Giants. Both Rollins and Juan Uribe are getting the day off on the left side of the infield but will presumably be back in the lineup for this weekend's series against the Padres.
Mon Apr 13 201517:35Rollins not in lineup Monday against Mariners
Rollins is not in the lineup Monday against the Mariners.
Rollins will get the day off Monday with the left-handed James Paxton on the mound. While Rollins' splits batting left versus right are extremely similar, Darwin Barney (who's starting in his place), is a much better hitter against south paws. The scenario makes it the ideal situation for the veteran to take a rest, but he should be back in the lineup Tuesday.

Rollins was 2-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, and go-ahead three-run homer on Monday's win over the Padres.
Not a bad debut. Rollins may be old, but he's been durable and productive in his later years and should continue to function as the team's leadoff man.

Rollins was 1-for-3 on Sunday and is now batting .364 (8-for-22) with three extra-base hits so far this spring.
He's yet to swipe a base, but Rollins should be good for plenty of those as the Dodgers' leadoff man this year.
Tue Mar 3 201511:55Manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that Rollins will hit leadoff...
Manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that Rollins will hit leadoff for the Dodgers this season, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.
Rollins hit almost exclusively out of the two hole for the Phillies last season, but it appears he will move up a spot with his new squad. He is now 36 years old, but assuming he stays relatively healthy and remains atop the order, he should have no trouble reaching 600 plate appearances for the fifth year in a row, and 14th time in 15 seasons.
Wed Dec 10 201417:12Jimmy Rollins: Traded to Dodgers
Rollins has been traded to the Dodgers, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
With the departure of Hanley Ramirez, the Dodgers were seeking a new shortstop this offseason. Rollins is affordable for 2015, carrying an $11 million contract (a vesting option that he had with the Phillies). At age 36, he may be pressed to repeat the 17-homer, 28-steal season that he posted in 2014, but the lineup around him in Los Angeles should enable him to stabilize -- and possibly improve -- his runs scored and RBI count depending on where he hits in the lineup.

GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Rollins (hamstring) will not lose playing time next season as part of the Phillies' rebuilding process, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The Phillies do not have a prospect at short that is ready for playing time in the majors, so keeping Rollins won't impact the playing time of younger guys outside of Freddy Galvis, who profiles as a utility player. Rollins has 10 and 5 rights which allows him to block any trade. Thus far, he has expressed no interest in going to another team.
Thu Sep 25 201408:05Rollins (hamstring) will likely miss rest of season
Rollins (hamstring) will likely miss the rest of the season, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Rollins missed his 15th straight game Wednesday because of a strained hamstring. He has been making progress in his recovery, but the Phillies have no reason to push him to return before the season ends. Freddy Galvis will finish the season as the team's starting shortstop.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said Tuesday that Rollins (hamstring) has not been ruled out for the final five games of the season, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Rollins hasn't played since September 8, but he's hoping to return for at least one game before the season concludes. He ran the bases and took batting and fielding practice over the weekend, but he's still not quite ready to return to the lineup. At this point, Rollins' status will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said Sunday that he had no update on Rollins (hamstring), the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Rollins participated in batting and fielding practice this weekend, but was unable to return to the lineup. He has not started since straining his hamstring on Sept. 8.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said he is uncertain if Rollins (hamstring) will play again this season, the Phillies' official site reports. "We'll see. We'll see how he does and how he goes. I'm not going one way or another on it. Just watching the progress. He's doing good with what he's doing."
Rollins ran the bases Saturday and is showing some signs of improvement. He has been out since Sept. 8 with a strained left hamstring.

Rollins (hamstring) could return to the lineup after he is able to run sprints at full speed, the Phillies' official site reports.
Rollins was scheduled to run before Friday's game, but there was no word of how he felt afterward. If there was no setback, he could return to the lineup as early as Saturday.
Fri Sep 19 201406:25Rollins tested strained hamstring again before Thursday's game
Rollins tested his strained hamstring again before Thursday's game, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Rollins also took some grounders on Wednesday. He could return to action this weekend during the Phillies' series with the A's.

Rollins will presumably give it a try again Wednesday. He is sidelined with a strained left hamstring.

Rollins is currently sidelined with a strained left hamstring. He could return to the lineup this weekend. Freddy Galvis has been filling in at shortstop for the Phils.
