Fri Mar 8 201320:55Hector Noesi hammered by Athletics
Though the stats won't officially count as the game was wiped out by rain, Hector Noesi was hammered once again by the Athletics on Friday.
In his two innings of work, he surrendered seven runs (six earned) on five hits, two walks and a hit batter. Three of those hits allowed left the ballpark. He's had a very rough go of it to this point in the spring, and would have a 19.06 ERA had Friday's results actually counted. He isn't close to joining the M's rotation anytime soon.

Fri Feb 22 201318:12Hector Noesi roughed up by Padres
Hector Noesi was lit up for six runs -- four earned -- in two-thirds of an inning by the Padres in Friday's charity game.
Since it was the annual charity game, Noesi's 54.00 ERA won't count in the "official" spring stats. Of course, that shouldn't provide much comfort. Noesi was the favorite to serve as the Mariners' fifth starter before Joe Saunders was signed. He still has an outside shot at the role if Blake Beavan turns in a bad spring, but most likely, he'll head to the bullpen or Triple-A.

Tue Sep 18 201219:48Hector Noesi back to bullpen
Hector Noesi isn't expected to make another start for the Mariners this month.
Noesi was blasted for seven runs over his 1 1/3 innings in his return to the rotation Monday. He'll be used as a long reliever for the final couple weeks and is probably a longshot for a rotation spot next spring after posting a 6.00 ERA over 20 appearances.

Tue Sep 18 201207:27Hector Noesi gets lit up by Orioles
Hector Noesi was pounded for seven runs -- six earned -- in 1 1/3 innings by the Orioles on Monday.
Noesi's getting two auditions for next year this month, but he was a bust in the first. Now 2-12 with a 6.00 ERA, it's possible he'll be looked at as a reliever next spring.

Fri Sep 7 201210:05Noesi, Ramirez added to rotation
Hector Noesi and Erasmo Ramirez will each make a pair of starts for the Mariners this month.
Felix Hernandez, Jason Vargas and Hisashi Iwakuma will continue to start on regular rest, but Kevin Millwood and Blake Beavan will each lose a couple starts. The M's will use a seven-man rotation down the stretch. "The way (pitching coach) Carl Willis drew it up, Millwood and Beavan get two or three more starts each and Noesi and Ramirez get two apiece," a Mariners source told Larry LaRue of the Tacoma News Tribune. "That way you see the kids and don't penalize two guys who have been in your rotation most of the year."

Thu Jul 5 201214:53Struggling Hector Noesi demoted to minors
Mariners optioned RHP Hector Noesi to Triple-A Tacoma.
The final straw was Wednesday's outing, when he was knocked around for four runs over five innings while losing his league-leading 11th game. Noesi has flashed some upside, but he's been way too inconsistent and is better served to work on things in the minors. Hisashi Iwakuma is expected to replace him in the rotation, though Danny Hultzen might not be far behind.

Wed Jul 4 201222:00Hector Noesi could lose rotation spot
Mariners manager Eric Wedge indicated that Hector Noesi could be replaced in the rotation by Hisashi Iwakuma.
"That's a good question, a fair question. We're in the process of evaluating everything,'' he said. "I've been very clear, I've been very patient. I think we've been patient as an organization. But I think there's a time and a place to make some changes." Noesi lost his league-leading 11th game Wednesday and now holds a 5.77 ERA for the season. While he's put up some solid outings occasionally, the consistency just hasn't been there, and he's been killing by the longball, serving up 20. Iwakuma allowed three runs over five innings Monday in his first major league start.

Tue Jun 19 201202:29Hector Noesi gives up six run in loss
Hector Noesi gave up six runs -- five earned -- in six innings Monday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.
It's no longer amusing to point out how nice Noesi's WHIP is when he keeps giving up plenty of runs and racking up losses. He hasn't won since May 6, and his ERA currently stands at 5.69. The Mariners will likely run out of patience if he doesn't improve by the All-Star break.

Thu Jun 14 201201:30Hector Noesi solid in loss to Padres
Hector Noesi allowed just one run on five hits and three walks in seven innings Wednesday, but got stuck with the loss in Seattle's 1-0 setback against the Padres.
He fanned five. Noesi's only real mistake came in the seventh, where he served up what would prove to be the game-winning solo home run to Yonder Alonso. Coming into this evening, Noesi had allowed six runs while failing to escape the fifth inning in each of his past two starts. He'll bring a 5.54 ERA and 1.23 WHIP into his Monday start in Arizona.

Thu Jun 7 201201:39Hector Noesi takes loss to Angels
Working on three days' rest, Hector Noesi was tagged for six runs in four innings by the Angels on Wednesday.
Noesi hadn't walked more than three batters in a start this season until giving up five tonight. Maybe the short rest played a role there, but this is now back-to-back outings in which he's been awful. His rotation spot is probably in jeopardy.

Tue Jun 5 201208:48Noesi to start for Hernandez on short rest
Hector Noesi is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday against the Angels.
Felix Hernandez will be pushed back for precautionary measures. Noesi lasted just five inning in his last start and threw few enough pitches that he'll be cleared on short rest. Noesi's flyball tendencies play much better when at home at Safeco Field. He's struggled on the road this season.

Sat Jun 2 201220:28Noesi bombed in no decision vs. White Sox
Hector Noesi was bombed by the White Sox on Saturday, allowing six runs on seven hits in just 4 1/3 innings.
He did manage to strike out five and didn't walk a batter in the game. Once again, it was the longball that victimized Noesi with A.J. Pierzynski, Gordon Beckham and Alex Rios taking him out of the park. An extreme flyball pitcher, Noesi has predictably been a much better pitcher in the friendly confines of SafeCo Field. With the loss, he remains 2-6 on the season and drops his ERA to 5.51. With Danny Hultzen pitching so well in the minors, it may only be a matter of time before a move is made, allowing Noesi some time to work out the kinks. He'll attempt to right the ship when he takes on the Dodgers at home on Friday next week.

Wed May 23 201201:17Hector Noesi goes eight innings versus Texas
Hector Noesi pitched eight innings and allowed three runs Tuesday in a loss to the Rangers.
Noesi gave up just two walks and three hits all night. Unfortunately, two of the hits followed the two walks in the third inning, giving the Rangers all of their runs. It was still an impressive outing for the ex-Yankee. He's 2-5 with a 5.26 ERA, but his 1.19 WHIP is very good.

Sat May 12 201218:45Noesi hit hard in loss to Yankees
Hector Noesi turned in a disappointing performance against the Yankees on Saturday, surrendering five runs on six hits over seven innings of work.
Noesi struck out two and didn't walk a batter. His flyball tendencies play much better when at home at SafeCo Field, and he's struggled to keep the ball in the yard on the road this season. Jayson Nix tagged him for a two-run homer in the second inning and Raul Ibanez added a solo blast in the fourth. With the loss, Noesi falls to 2-4 on the season with a 6.32 ERA. He'll look to get back on track when he takes on the Indians next week in Cleveland.

Sun May 6 201220:34Hector Noesi tosses gem for second win
Hector Noesi picked up his second win of the season by limiting the Twins to one run over seven innings Sunday.
Noesi struck out five, walked three and yielded just four hits. A major part of the Jesus Montero deal with the Yankees, the 25-year-old has now posted two impressive home starts on the young season. The problem is that his other four starts have been really ugly, leaving him with a 6.30 ERA on the season. Noesi won't be a spot-start option in New York next time out.

Sat Apr 14 201223:50Noesi throws eight scorless in defeat of A's
Hector Noesi tossed eight innings of shutout ball Saturday in the Mariners' 4-0 victory over the A's.
Noesi got rocked by the Rangers in his 2012 debut earlier this week, yielding seven runs over just three innings. But he was a very different pitcher on Saturday night in Seattle. The 25-year-old right-hander finished with six strikeouts and one walk, and will try to ride that momentum into next week's outing against the White Sox.

Mon Apr 9 201223:22Hector Noesi blasted by Rangers
Hector Noesi was blasted by the Rangers in his season debut Monday, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over three innings of work.
He struck out three and was taken deep twice. Noesi had a very good spring, and we think he could still be a nice sleeper, but this was a tough matchup for him out of the gate. It will get better, though, as he faces the A's at home over the weekend.

Wed Apr 4 201218:42Hector Noesi goes seven strong
Hector Noesi twirled seven innings of one-run ball against the Rockies Wednesday, allowing seven hits while recording three strikeouts.
He didn't walk anyone. This was just Noesi's third official appearance this spring, but he's been terrific in those outings, giving up just two runs over 12 innings. He's struck out just five over those outings, but his work in the minors and last year with the Yankees suggests he'll be able to get some swings and misses. There's end-game mixed league appeal here.

Tue Mar 13 201218:34Hector Noesi solid for M's
Hector Noesi had a solid outing Tuesday, limiting the Brewers to one run on three hits and a walk over three innings of work.
He didn't strike anyone out and served up a longball to Travis Ishikawa. Noesi was facing a split-squad Brewers lineup but one that was made up of most of the team's regulars. He's now permitted one run over his first five innings this spring as he tries to nail down a spot at the back-end of the Mariners rotation.

Sat Mar 3 201220:40Hector Noesi goes two hitless for Mariners
Hector Noesi started for the Mariners on Saturday and pitched two hitless innings against the A's.
He struck out two and walked two. Noesi is a nice AL-only sleeper after coming over from the Yankees in the Michael Pineda-Jesus Montero trade. He still has to win a rotation spot, though.
