Thu Apr 5 201220:23Jack Hannahan hits three-run homer
Jack Hannahan went 2-for-6 with a three-run homer in Thursday's marathon against the Blue Jays.
Incredibly, Hannahan has homered in his first game of the season four straight years. Three of them came on Opening Day (2008, '11 and now '12). He also homered in his first game after being called up in 2009 (he never saw the majors in 2010). Hannahan homers once every 47 at-bats for this career, so it's truly a pretty bizarre feat.

Hannahan beat out Lonnie Chisenhall for the gig. But the 32-year-old hit just .250/.331/.388 in 110 games last year and is doubtful to hold any sort of fantasy value.

Fri Nov 18 201112:42Indians will offer Jack Hannahan arbitration
Jordan Bastian of MLB.com hears that it's "highly likely" that the Indians will offer Jack Hannahan arbitration.
It's a pretty easy decision. Hannahan, though not much of a threat at the plate, is a terrific defender at the hot corner, and, as a first-time eligible arbitration player, shouldn't see too big of a hike from the $500,000 salary he had in 2011. Assuming Lonnie Chisenhall begins the year in the majors, Hannahan will be slated for backup duty in 2012.
