Rangers recalled C Taylor Teagarden from Triple-A Round Rock.
Teagarden has been on an offensive tear down on the farm but probably won't see enough regular playing time to warrant a fantasy roster spot. The 27-year-old is batting .341/.453/.909 in 13 games at Triple-A this year.

Tue Mar 29 201118:18Rangers option C Teagarden to Triple-A
Rangers optioned C Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Round Rock.
Teagarden didn't have a chance to make the roster given the current depth at the big league level. However, he would likely be the first catcher called up from the minors in the event of an injury now that Matt Treanor has been traded to the Royals.

Sat Mar 12 201113:34Black feels good about backup catchers
Padres manager Bud Black doesn't feel the need to acquire a backup catcher following the retirement of Gregg Zaun.
Taylor Teagarden's name has surfaced as a possible target for the Padres, but Black doesn't think an addition is necessary. "Primarily, you are looking for defense and the ability to work with the pitcher from the No. 2 catcher," said Black. "I think we're in good shape." Rob Johnson is slated to back up Nick Hundley, who Black said he anticipates playing in over 120 games.

Mon Aug 23 201016:47Nats send Teagarden back to Triple-A
Rangers optioned C Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Teagarden was sent down to make room for Matt Treanor's return from the disabled list. The 26-year-old backstop was 7-for-29 (.241) with four home runs and eight RBI after being called up at the end of July. He'll be back when rosters expand in September.
Sun Aug 8 201014:51Teagarden earning more playing time
Taylor Teagarden has earned more playing time behind the plate due to being "more focused and more consistent," according to Rangers manager Ron Washington.
Teagarden started both on Friday and Saturday and hit a home run in both contests. Washington said he also likes Teagarden's defense, but the chance to get veteran Bengie Molina another day of rest played a part in his decision. "I'm going to get to the point where Molina goes three and Teagarden goes two. With the days off, it's just been tough to do," Washington said.

Sat Aug 7 201000:50Rangers' Teagarden hits two-run homer
Taylor Teagarden had a two-run homer and a double versus the A's on Friday.
Teagarden is a strikeout machine, but the power is for real: he's homered 14 times in 283 at-bats as a major leaguer. Unfortunately, he's probably not going to play any more than twice a week the rest of the way.
Thu Jul 29 201023:14Teagarden goes deep in Rangers' win
Taylor Teagarden was 1-for-4 with a home run in the Rangers' win over the A's Thursday.
The longball was a two-run shot and represented the first homer and RBI on the season for the catcher. He is hitting a paltry .065 over 31 at-bats this year and .217 over his 276 at-bat career.
Sat Jul 24 201016:20Rangers recall Teagarden from AAA OKC
Rangers recalled C Taylor Teagarden from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Matt Treanor sprained his right knee during Friday's game and will need a few days off. Teagarden had just one hit over 27 at-bats in his first stint with the Rangers this season. He'll be backup and is not a fantasy option.
Tue Apr 27 201019:04Rangers send Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A
Rangers optioned C Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Teagarden had just one hit over his first 27 at-bats (.037) and owns a disappointing .217/.283/.415 career batting line in the big leagues. He's still only 26 years old, but his minor league track record doesn't give much reason for optimism here.
Mon Apr 26 201010:18Teagarden likely to be optioned to Triple-A
MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan suspects that Taylor Teagarden will be optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City once Jarrod Saltalamacchia (back) returns.
And Matt Treanor, 4-for-26, will stick around as Salty's backup. Teagarden has failed to take advantage of a big-time opportunity, batting just 1-for-25 on the season with 16 strikeouts. The 26-year-old catcher owns a 704 career OPS and has yet to show that he can hack it on baseball's highest level.

Wed Apr 7 201017:25Teagarden starting at catcher for Rangers
Taylor Teagarden is starting behind the plate Wednesday versus Toronto.
Rangers manager Ron Washington announced one week ago that Teagarden and Jarrod Saltalamacchia will, as expected, split time at catcher this season. Platoons are awful for fantasy purposes and this one should be avoided in most formats. Teagarden is batting eighth on Wednesday.
