Sun Jun 30 201316:58Mark Buehrle decent versus Red Sox
Mark Buehrle allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.
The left-hander pitched pretty well outside of a rough second inning when he allowed four hits and a run while also hitting a batter. After rebounding to post five straight quality starts, Buehrle has now failed to post one the last three times out. He'll try to right the ship next weekend against the Twins at home.

Tue Jun 25 201323:22Buehrle unspectacular, takes loss versus Rays
Mark Buehrle allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings to take the loss against the Rays on Tuesday.
Buehrle actually allowed 13 baserunners on the evening, as he walked four and hit a batter to go with the eight hits allowed. The southpaw now owns a 4.73 ERA and 1.40 WHIP this season. He'll take the hill next in Boston when he takes on the Red Sox on Sunday.

Wed Jun 19 201322:52Buehrle lasts five to pick up the win vs. Rox
Mark Buehrle allowed two runs over five innings to earn the win against the Rockies on Wednesday.
Buehrle wasn't sharp, as he allowed eight hits and a walk on the evening, but he was good enough to pick up his fourth win. The southpaw has started to find his groove of late, as his ERA is down to 4.60 after spending much of the first two months above 6. He'll try to get his record above .500 on Tuesday as he takes on the Rays in Tampa.

Fri Jun 14 201323:06Buehrle spins seven scoreless frames in win
Mark Buehrle spun seven scoreless innings in an 8-0 win over the Rangers on Friday.
Another solid outing for Buehrle, as he held the Rangers to just four hits while walking just one batter and matching a season-high with seven strikeouts. The veteran southpaw has a 2.54 ERA over his last seven outings and has quality starts in six of them. Still, he's nothing more than a fringe option in mixed fantasy formats at this point.

Sat Jun 8 201317:29Buehrle goes seven innings in no-decision
Mark Buehrle tossed seven innings of one-run ball Saturday in a no-decision against the Rangers.
A solid outing against a good lineup, Buehrle allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out three. The only run scored on a solo homer by Jeff Baker in his final inning of work. The veteran left-hander has allowed three earned runs or fewer in five out of his last six starts, but he still owns a 5.06 ERA on the year. He's not really an option in mixed fantasy leagues.

Mon May 27 201322:14Mark Buehrle beats Braves for second win
Mark Buehrle recorded just his second win by limiting the Braves to one run in six innings Monday.
Buehrle needs to face more National League teams and fewer AL East offenses; his previous seven starts had all come against the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays. He really hasn't been as bad as his 5.51 ERA suggests, but he has little fantasy upside pitching for the Jays.

Fri May 17 201321:54Buehrle charged with five runs in loss
Mark Buehrle was charged with five runs over six-plus innings Friday in a loss to the Yankees.
Buehrle was pulled after the first three batters reached to begin the seventh inning. Both inherited runners came around to score. He struck out four and walked three in the loss. The veteran southpaw has allowed five earned runs or more in four out of his last five starts and has an ugly 6.33 ERA for the year. We're not optimistic about him being much of an asset in fantasy leagues this year.

Sat May 11 201317:56Buehrle handed no-decision vs. Red Sox
Mark Buehrle allowed one run over seven-plus innings Saturday against the Red Sox, but was handed a tough-luck no-decision.
Buehrle left in position for the victory, but Darren Oliver coughed up the lead after he was pulled from the ballgame in the eighth. The veteran left-hander held the Red Sox to just five hits and a pair of walks while notching five strikeouts. It was the first time since April 15 that he didn't allow a home run. Still, Buehrle has a 6.19 ERA through eight starts and can't be trusted in mixed formats.

Mon May 6 201323:03Mark Buehrle allows seven runs to Rays
Mark Buehrle was tagged for seven runs in six innings by the Rays in a no-decision Monday.
Buehrle has given up at least five runs in five of his seven starts this season. He's surrendered 11 homers, including eight in his last three outings. He can't possibly remain this bad, but there was also never much reason to think he'd be very good.

Wed May 1 201322:15Buehrle struggles again in loss to Red Sox
Mark Buehrle had another rough outing Wednesday, allowing five runs in 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox.
Life up north hasn't been friendly to Buehrle in 2013, as he has now given up 25 earned runs in 35 innings this season. Buerle was plagued by the longball again Wednesday, serving up three gopher balls to Red Sox hitters. He's a fringe play even in single leagues at this point. His next start will come Monday against the Rays.

Thu Apr 25 201322:23Mark Buehrle takes loss to Yankees
Mark Buehrle yielded five runs and three homers in 5 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Yankees.
Buehrle has given the Blue Jays just two quality starts in five tries. He may prove to be an acceptable fifth or sixth starter in AL-only leagues, but he doesn't figure to become anything more than that this year.

Sat Apr 20 201317:57Buehrle gives up three runs in no-decision
Mark Buehrle yielded three runs in seven inning Saturday in a no-decision against the Yankees.
It was his best start as a member of the Blue Jays. The veteran southpaw scattered eight hits and issued an intentional walk while notching a season-high seven strikeouts. Buehrle is just the second Toronto starter to complete seven innings this season. He'll hope to get back in the win column with another start against the Yankees next week, this time in New York.

Mon Apr 15 201322:43Mark Buehrle earns first win for Blue Jays
Mark Buehrle picked up his first win for the Blue Jays after allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings Monday against the White Sox.
Buehrle allowed nine hits and walked two, so his WHIP went up a bit to 1.75 tonight. Still, he helped his own cause with a pickoff in the fourth and got himself out of trouble with a double play and a strikeout in the fifth. Buehrle should be an adequate but uninspired play in AL-only leagues most weeks.

Wed Apr 10 201319:24Mark Buehrle gives up six runs to Tigers
Mark Buehrle surrendered six runs -- five earned -- in 4 1/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Tigers.
Buehrle has a 10.24 ERA after two starts in his return to the American League. There's little reason to think this will continue, but given the likelihood of an ERA over 4.00 and his modest strikeout rate, we're not expecting him to have more than a bit of value in AL-only leagues.

Thu Apr 4 201322:49Mark Buehrle gives up six runs to Indians
Mark Buehrle struggled through 5 1/3 innings Thursday in his Blue Jays debut, giving up six runs to the Indians.
Carlos Santana and Mark Reynolds hit back-to-back homers off Buehrle in the 4th. The left-hander also gave up four doubles on the night. We don't see Buehrle having much fantasy value at all in the tough AL East this year. That said, he has surprised us before.

Fri Mar 29 201321:24Mark Buehrle solid in final spring tune-up
Mark Buehrle looked primed for the regular season in his final spring tune-up Friday, limiting the Phillies to just two hits over five scoreless innings.
Buehrle racked up five strikeouts on the evening without issuing a free pass. After struggling through his first five spring outings, it was certainly an encouraging sign to see him finish on a high note. While he's very dependable and likely to toss 200 innings in 2013, the move back to the American League and his lack of strikeouts make him an unappealing option in most fantasy formats.

Mon Nov 19 201215:20Blue Jays acquire Buehrle from Marlins
Blue Jays acquired LHP Mark Buehrle from the Marlins in a 12-player trade.
Buehrle reportedly wanted a no-trade clause last winter, but he sacrificed controlling his own destiny when he signed a four-year, $58 million contract with the Marlins. Now he's headed north of the border just one year later. The 33-year-old southpaw should be a reliable innings-eater for the Blue Jays, as he has topped 200 innings in 12 straight seasons, but his fly ball tendencies could spell trouble in Rogers Centre and in the AL East. Buehrle's contract is backloaded, so he'll make $11 million next year, $18 million in 2014 and $19 million in 2015.

Mon Oct 1 201216:55Buehrle likely won't start Wednesday
Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said Mark Buehrle likely won't start Wednesday against the Mets.
Buehrle reached 200 innings for a 12th consecutive season last time out, so there's little reason to push him out there with the Marlins out of the race. No word yet on his replacement, but the Marlins could just make their finale a bullpen game.

Sun Sep 30 201211:15Buehrle not confirmed for Wednesday start
Mark Buehrle is tentatively scheduled to start Wednesday against the Mets.
Buehrle eclipsed 200 innings in his last start, and the Marlins are considering shutting him down. If Buehlre doesn't pitch, Wade LeBlanc is a candidate to take his spot in the rotation.

Sat Sep 29 201200:23Buehrle terrific, fans eight in no-decision
Mark Buehrle was terrific in a no-decision against the Phillies on Friday, allowing just one run on six hits over his eight innings of work.
Buehrle racked up eight strikeouts on the night without issuing a walk. He kept the Phillies in check until the eighth inning, where Jimmy Rollins delivered a two-out RBI single. He's pitched roughly as well as the Marlins anticipated when inking him to a free agent deal this off-season, posting a 13-13 record and 3.74 ERA over 202 1/3 innings.
