The outfielder hit his 14th double off Brian Matusz, and the three-hit night raised his line to .329/.388/.622 in 143 at-bats. Red Sox manager John Farrell hinted after the game that he could be in line for more at-bats in the near future given how well he's performed at the plate this year.

Sat Jun 15 201319:10Carp hits eighth homer as Red Sox top Orioles
Mike Carp hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot, to help the Red Sox beat the Orioles on Saturday.
Carp was supposed to be a part-time player, but he's forcing the hand of Red Sox manager John Farrell with his play. The first baseman is hitting .320/.372/.680 with eight homers in 103 at-bats this year. He won't continue to hit at such a clip, but it's worth riding while he's hit in deeper mixed leagues.

Sat Jun 8 201317:08Carp has HR, RBI single in loss to Angels
Mike Carp went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and an RBI single Saturday as the Red Sox dropped the first game of a doubleheader to the Angels.
Carp now has 16 extra-base hits (including five homers) in just 82 at-bats this season. That's more than the likes of Victor Martinez, Andre Ethier, Martin Prado, Pablo Sandoval and Ryan Zimmerman, just to name a few. While the 26-year-old has been extremely productive in limited playing time for the Red Sox, he would need an injury in order to be relevant in mixed fantasy leagues.

Tue Jun 4 201322:34Carp homers, drives in three in lopsided win
Mike Carp went 3-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season in the Red Sox win over the Rangers on Tuesday.
Carp was just one of many Red Sox batters who feasted on Rangers pitching Tuesday, as the Sox hung 17 runs on Texas pitching. In 32 games this year, the outfielder is now hitting .301/.350/.630. With so many outfielders in Boston, though, it's tough to see him getting regular at-bats any time soon barring injury.

Fri May 24 201323:04Mike Carp smashes three-run homer in victory
Mike Carp smashed a three-run homer on Friday, helping to power the Red Sox to an 8-1 victory over the Indians.
Carp finished the night 1-for-2 before being lifted for a pinch-hitter. His three-run blast off Justin Masterson opened the scoring in the second inning, and was more than enough offense for John Lackey in this one. He's thrived in a part-time role, hitting .286/.340/.653 with three homers and 11 RBI in his first 49 at-bats.

Thu Apr 25 201322:05Mike Carp goes 2-for-4, scores twice
Mike Carp went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and two runs scored against the Astros on Thursday.
Carp figured to start slow after getting just two at-bats during the first two weeks of the season, but he's capitalized on his few starts of late, going 7-for-13 with four RBI since April 17. Unfortunately, he'll likely head right back to the bench with left-hander Erik Bedard starting for Houston tomorrow.

Wed Apr 17 201322:54Mike Carp goes 3-for-3 in first start
Making his first start of the season, Mike Carp went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI triple in Wednesday's win over the Indians.
Carp was hitless in his first three at-bats before Wednesday, but Red Sox manager John Farrell finally stuck him in the lineup and it paid off. The 26-year-old can hit a little, but it remains to be seen if tonight's showing will earn him more playing time.

Fri Mar 22 201316:07Mike Carp goes 0-for-3 against Blue Jays
Mike Carp went 0-for-3 on Friday to drop his spring average to .194.
Carp is 7-for-36 with one homer and a 13/2 K/BB ratio. It was assumed he'd have a bench spot after the Red Sox acquired him from the Mariners last month, and David Ortiz's setback placed him in position to claim a bigger role. Still, he has to be vulnerable now as much as he's struggled. It might come down to him and Jackie Bradley Jr. for a spot.

Wed Feb 20 201310:05Red Sox acquire Mike Carp from Mariners
Red Sox acquired 1B/OF Mike Carp from the Mariners for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Carp was designated for assignment last week, so the Mariners had until Thursday to find him a new home. The 26-year-old is coming off an injury-plagued season in which he batted just 213/.312/.341 with five home runs and a .654 OPS in 189 plate appearances, but the Red Sox likely view him as insurance for Mike Napoli at first base. And it's not a terrible idea given the price tag involved. It's worth noting that Carp is out of options this spring, so he would have to be exposed to waivers if he doesn't make the Opening Day roster.

The Mariners have until Thursday to trade Carp, who was designated for assignment last week. The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo reported Monday that the Twins, Astros and Red Sox are among the clubs with interest in Carp.

The Mariners have until Thursday to trade Carp, who was designated for assignment last week. The Brewers might make sense as a destination, as well, following Mat Gamel's injury. Carp batted just .213/.312/.341 over an injury-plagued 2012 season, but he's shown promise in the minors and in spurts at the big league level.

Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox have discussed Mike Carp internally.
Carp was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Tuesday, but the Red Sox haven't decided whether to pursue him. The 26-year-old batted just .213/.312/.341 with five homers and a .654 OPS last season and was limited to just 59 games due to hip and shoulder problems.

Tue Feb 12 201319:27Mariners designate Mike Carp for assignment
Mariners designated INF/OF Mike Carp for assignment.
The move was made in order make room on the 40-man roster for Joe Saunders. Carp is coming off an injury-shortened season in 2012 when he batted just .213/.312/.341 in 59 games. The 26-year-old has some pop, though, and is likely to draw plenty of attention on waivers.

Thu Jan 17 201309:08Red Sox interested in Mike Carp?
The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham suggests the Red Sox could have interest in trading for Mike Carp.
Carp is expendable following the Mariners' addition of Michael Morse, and the Red Sox are looking to improve their bench with a lefthanded hitter who can play first base and corner outfield. Coming off an injury-shortened season in 2012, Carp batted just .213/.312/.341 in 59 games with Seattle, but remains an intriguing power prospect. The Red Sox have also expressed interest in signing free agents Casey Kotchman, Lyle Overbay, and Nick Johnson.

Sun Sep 23 201210:10Teams interested in Mike Carp
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Mike Carp is "starting to appear on a few teams' wish lists."
Cafardo thinks Carp, who is under team control through 2014, could be expendable if the Mariners are committed to Justin Smoak at first base. "He's an interesting name," said an NL scout of Carp. "He's been buried on that roster in a big ballpark, and if you take him out of there, he may break out. He's someone you'd take a chance on." Carp is batting just .216/.316/.346 in an injury-shortened season this year, but he slugged .466 for the M's last year and also mashed at Triple-A in 2010 and 2011.
