Fri Aug 12 201116:31Huff expected to start Sunday vs. Twins
Indians manager Manny Acta expects David Huff to be called up from the minors to start Sunday against the Twins.
He'll start in place of the injured Carlos Carrasco. Huff was optioned to Triple-A Columbus earlier this month to make room for Ubaldo Jimenez in the starting rotation, but he certainly pitched well enough to stick around. He'll bring a 0.51 ERA and 15/4 K/BB ratio over three starts into Sunday's outing.

Wed Aug 3 201100:23Indians option LHP Huff to minors
Indians optioned RHP LHP David Huff to Triple-A Columbus.
He hardly deserved the demotion, but somebody had to go to make room for Ubaldo Jimenez in the starting rotation. Huff gave up just an unearned run over five innings against the Red Sox on Tuesday and has a 0.51 ERA and 15/4 K/BB ratio over his first three starts this season. We'll likely see him back with the big club soon.

Tue Aug 2 201123:28Huff allows one run -- none earned -- in ND
David Huff allowed one run -- none earned -- on just three hits over five innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Red Sox.
He struck out six and walked two. Huff was only expected to make a spot start in a double-header against the Twins on July 18, but he's pitched so well over his three starts that he's forced the Indians to keep trotting him out. He has a 0.51 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over those outings. With the Rangers on deck, however, we can't recommend him as a fantasy option.

Wed Jul 27 201114:28David Huff loses to Angels
David Huff lost to the Angels after giving up two runs -- one earned --in 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday.
Huff had to get five outs in the third and the Indians committed a total of three errors while he was in the game, so it was a second straight strong outing for the left-hander. Unfortunately, he gets road starts against the Red Sox and Rangers next week, so this isn't the time to think about picking him up.

Mon Jul 18 201116:09David Huff goes seven scoreless for win
Making his 2011 debut, David Huff blanked the Twins for seven innings to earn a win in the first game of Monday's doubleheader.
Huff was only expected to make the spot start and get sent down after the game. That's still likely to happen, but he certainly made a case to receive additional starts in August and September. It was his first big-league victory since May 23, 2010. He lost his final five starts of last season and wasn't heard from again after early August.

Mon Jul 18 201111:39Indians recall Huff from Triple-A
Indians recalled LHP David Huff from Triple-A Columbus.
Huff will start the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Twins. He has had a good year at Triple-A, posting a 3.86 ERA over 17 starts, though he's struck out only 63 over 100 1/3 innings. Huff is expected to be sent right back down after the game, as Jeanmar Gomez is likely to hang around to fill Mitch Talbot's spot in the rotation. The southpaw held a less than thrilling 6.21 ERA over 15 starts for the Tribe last season.

Sun Jul 17 201112:07David Huff will be recalled Monday
David Huff will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus to start the first game of Monday's doubleheader.
He gets the nod over Zach McAllister, who didn't fare too well in a start earlier this month. Huff has had a solid year at Triple-A, posting a 3.86 ERA over 17 starts, though he's struck out only 63 over 100 1/3 innings. Huff is expected to be sent right back down after the start, as Jeanmar Gomez is likely to hang around to fill Mitch Talbot's spot in the rotation.

Mon Apr 25 201113:09Huff may take Carrasco's rotation spot
David Huff could take Carlos Carrasco's spot in the Indians' starting rotation temporarily.
Carrasco left his Sunday outing against the Twins after three innings due to tightness in his throwing elbow and may need to sit out for a start or two. Huff has a 2.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in three starts at Triple-A.

Fri Mar 25 201111:29Tribe send down Huff, Gomez, Carrera
Indians reassigned LHP David Huff, RHP Jeanmar Gomez and OF Ezequiel Carrera to minor league camp.
Josh Tomlin beat out both Huff and Gomez for the final spot in the Indians' season-opening rotation, but they should all get big league looks throughout the year.

Sat Mar 5 201116:35Huff impresses over two frames
David Huff held the White Sox scoreless on two hits over three innings Saturday.
Huff didn't walk a batter and struck out a pair. He's now tossed five shutout innings in two outings this spring, perhaps positioning himself at the front of the pack for the No. 5 starter job. The southpaw held a less than thrilling 6.21 ERA over 15 starts for the Tribe last season.

Tue Mar 1 201119:05Huff tosses two shutout innings in relief
David Huff struck out three over two scoreless innings against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Huff came on in relief and was very impressive, delivering two perfect frames. The 26-year-old left-hander is currently competing with Aaron Laffey, Josh Tomlin and Jeanmar Gomez for the final spot in the starting rotation.
Wed Aug 11 201014:52Indians send LHP Huff to Triple-A
Indians optioned LHP David Huff to Triple-A Columbus.
Huff didn't show much during his recent stint with the team, allowing eight runs over two starts. He is 2-11 with a 6.21 ERA and 37/34 K/BB ratio in 15 starts with the Indians this season.
Tue Aug 3 201022:03Huff allows three runs in loss to Red Sox
David Huff allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Recalled earlier in the day, he adds another poor start to his 2010 totals. Huff allowed seven hits and two walks and is now 2-10 with a 5.97 ERA on the season. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
Tue Aug 3 201014:43Indians recall lefty Huff for Tuesday start
Indians recalled LHP David Huff from Triple-A Columbus.
Huff will take on the Red Sox on Tuesday night in his return to the big leagues and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues. He has an ugly 6.04 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 13 total starts for the Tribe this season.
Mon Aug 2 201017:30Huff to start against Red Sox on Tuesday
David Huff will start against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Assuming he doesn't tweet about it first, that is. Huff has a 6.04 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 13 starts with the Tribe this season and isn't worth your time in fantasy leagues.

Mon Jul 19 201012:56Huff throws seven shutout innings at Triple-A
David Huff hurled seven shutout innings on Sunday to lead the Triple-A Columbus Clippers over the Norfolk Tides.
Huff allowed only two hits and struck out three for the highly successful Clippers. He could have made that start in the big leagues, but the Indians scratched him late and gave the nod to right-hander Jeanmar Gomez instead. The left-handed Huff should be back in the big leagues later this week.

Sat Jul 17 201014:18David Huff will not be making spot start for Indians Sunday as o...
David Huff will not be making a spot start for the Indians Sunday as originally thought.
Huff and his agent, Jim McDowell, insist that the left-hander never tweeted that he would make the start, and McDowell proclaims that Huff's "own account was terminated over a month ago." The agent went on to say, "Dave will be pitching for Triple-A Columbus tomorrow, apparently because this was such a big deal." If the Indians were in fact planning to give Huff the ball on Sunday and decided not to based on the lefty allegedly letting the cat out of the bag, then, well, that's pretty ridiculous. There's no evidence they did so, though, other than McDowell's assertions. Josh Tomlin seems to be the likely candidate to start Sunday since Carlos Carrasco just pitched Thursday.

He would know. The Indians need an extra pitcher this weekend because of Saturday's doubleheader.

Mon Jun 21 201010:18Indians option LHP David Huff to Triple-A
Indians optioned LHP David Huff to Triple-A Columbus.
A corresponding roster move will be made before Tuesday's game. Huff overstayed his welcome in the big leagues, posting a dreadful 2-9 record, 34/30 K/BB ratio, 6.04 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in 13 starts for the Indians. The 25-year-old left-hander will work on some things down on the farm and could rejoin the Tribe in a few weeks if he begins to show improvement.
Thu Jun 3 201016:31Indians' Huff struggles versus Tigers
David Huff, who left his last start after being hit in the head by a line drive, allowed five runs over three innings Thursday against the Tigers.
It's impressive that Huff was able to get right back on the mound five days after such a scary incident, but he wasn't any good at all today. He allowed six hits, walked two and struck out none in a no-decision. With his ERA now over 6.00, he's in danger of losing his rotation spot.
