Tue Jun 1 201012:02Huff to make next start despite comebacker
The Indians have confirmed that right-hander David Huff (head) will indeed make his next scheduled start.
Huff was drilled in the head by an Alex Rodriguez comebacker on Saturday, but threw a bullpen session Monday and felt fine. He never lost consciousness and has not been diagnosed with a concussion, thus the 25-year-old righty will take the mound Thursday against the Tigers in Detroit.

Mon May 31 201013:11Huff throws bullpener, could make next start
David Huff threw a bullpen session on Monday, less than 48 hours after an Alex Rodriguez comebacker sent him to the hospital.
Huff has reported no concussion symptoms and could very well be cleared to make his next scheduled start, Thursday against the Tigers. "I'm fine, I feel fine and hopefully I'll bounce back," the left-hander said after Monday's workout. "I'm going to try not to think about it."

Sun May 30 201011:03Huff showing no signs of concussion
David Huff is doing well Sunday and is showing no sings of a concussion, according to the Indian's official Twitter account.
It can't be overstated how lucky Huff is to have escaped lasting damage from that shot. Chris Jakubauskas just started throwing again this weekend after he took a liner to the head, and Huff well could have suffered more than a concussion had the ball hit him in a different spot on his head. If he indeed does not have a concussion, it will be interesting to see how quickly he pitches again. Physically, he could be able to make his next start, but no one would blame Huff or the Indians if they skipped his next turn.

Sat May 29 201015:33CAT Scan negative on Huff comes back negative
David Huff did not suffer brain damage when he was struck in the head by an Alex Rodriguez liner in Saturday's game.
This is a huge relief for Huff, who will remain in the hospital for observation for a few more hours. He never lost consciousness, which is another good sign, so for now it appears that he's escaped serious injury. Huff's a lucky man, but this is just another in a long line of incidents that should have Major League Baseball looking for new ways to protect pitchers.

Sat May 29 201014:06Huff struck in the head by line drive
David Huff was struck in the head by a line drive off the bat of Alex Rodriguez in the third inning of Saturday's game.
Huff lay motionless for a few moments, but was able to roll onto his back to be carted off on a backboard. He gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was carted off, but that makes the incident no less frightening. There's no word yet on what injuries he sustained.

Sun May 23 201016:34Indians' Huff records quality start in win
David Huff limited the Reds to three runs in six innings on Sunday to pick up a win in a 4-3 affair.
All three runs scored on a pair of homers by Scott Rolen. Huff gave up only four other hits in the contest, while also walking one and striking out four. Today's outing snapped a streak of five straight losses for Huff, who is now 2-6 with a 5.25 ERA. He remains someone to leave on fantasy waiver wires.
Thu May 13 201017:09Indians' Huff falls to 1-5
David Huff fell to 1-5 after giving up six runs in 5 2/3 innings Thursday versus the Royals.
Huff has allowed 19 runs in 22 innings since his complete-game victory over the Rangers on April 15, and that doesn't even count his poor outing in a game that was called due to rain last Friday. He could be bounced from the rotation if he doesn't get it together soon. Carlos Carrasco is probably next in line for a spot, unless the Indians want to bring Aaron Laffey out of the bullpen.
Wed Apr 21 201022:51Huff comes back to earth in loss to Twins
After throwing a complete game four-hitter in his last outing, David Huff came back to earth in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday.
Huff yielded just three hits over six innings, but walked six and gave up four earned runs. He's not a strikeout pitcher and won't get much run support, so Huff should be ignored in most formats. He gets the Angels next time out.
Thu Apr 15 201014:33Indians' Huff notches complete-game victory
David Huff went the distance Thursday, pitching a four-hitter as the Indians beat the Rangers 3-2.
It looked like Huff would be a hard-luck loser until the Rangers committed two errors in the eighth, opening the door for a three-run inning. The only damage versus Huff was Michael Young's two-run homer in the fourth. The left-hander is off to a very nice start for someone who put his rotation spot in serious jeopardy with a mediocre spring. The Indians would have been perfect justified in picking Aaron Laffey over him.
Fri Apr 9 201015:56Indians' Huff takes loss to Tigers
David Huff surrendered four runs -- one earned -- in six innings Friday in a loss to the Tigers.
Huff finished last year 11-8 with a 5.61 ERA. He's opened this year 0-1 with a 1.50 ERA after a Jhonny Peralta error led to three runs in the fifth, erasing Cleveland's 2-1 lead.
