"It's good, it's not the ankle, it's the ligaments in my foot," said Purcey, who suffered the injury covering first base. He hasn't played catch or been able to run on the foot yet, but is optimistic that he should be able to do within a few days. If the Jays don't blow through their bullpen in the next few days, he could avoid a DL stint. |

Purcey has held lefties to a .188 batting average down in the Triple-A Las Vegas bullpen and has surrendered no earned runs in 14 of his 17 outings. The Blue Jays believe he can bring some stability to the middle of their bullpen, and they're probably right. |
