Thu May 12 2022 | 16:48 | Jorge Lopez Expected Back On Friday |
Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Jorge Lopez is expected to return from the bereavement list on Friday, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. The 29-year-old has been away from the team since Tuesday. Lopez has been operating as the team's primary closer this year, converting five of his six save opportunities while pitching to a 1.13 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. While he has been away from the team, the Orioles have gone 2-1 and Felix Bautista has converted two straight save opportunities. Bautista looks like he's the insurance policy behind Lopez, but we'd expect Lopez to be back in the primary closer role upon his return. |

Tue May 10 2022 | 13:52 | Orioles Place Jorge Lopez On Bereavement List |
The Baltimore Orioles placed closer Jorge Lopez on the bereavement list on Tuesday and recalled right-hander Travis Lakins Sr. from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move. Lopez will be out for at least three days and as many as seven days, so fantasy managers must make some adjustments this week. The 29-year-old right-hander has been solid for the O's this year with four saves, a 1.13 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, nine walks and 16 strikeouts in 16 innings over 14 relief appearances. Dillon Tate, who picked up the save for the Orioles on Sunday, figures to see any save chance within the next week until Lopez returns to the team. |

Sun Apr 24 2022 | 00:38 | Jorge Lopez Logs Fourth Save |
Baltimore Orioles reliever Jorge Lopez recorded his fourth save of the season on Saturday as his club defeated the Angels 5-4. The right-hander allowed a two-out single to Mike Trout, but was otherwise sharp by striking out two batters including a tough at-bat against Shohei Ohtani where he fell down 3-0 in the count before battling back to get the punch out. Lopez has allowed two runs through his first nine innings of work this season, pitching to a 1.13 WHIP and a 13/4 K/BB as the clear closing option for the O's. At this point he should be rostered in all formats that recognize saves. |

Sat Apr 23 2022 | 08:32 | Jorge Lopez Locks Down Save No. 3 On Friday |
Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Jorge Lopez continued his strong start to the 2022 campaign on Friday. He closed out the team's 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels to earn his third save of the year in as many opportunities. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out two. Lopez has a 2.25 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP over eight innings this year. He's also averaging 12.4 K/9 thanks to a career-best 33.3% strikeout rate. The former starting pitcher certainly looks to have made a smooth conversion to a relief role. No other Orioles reliever has recorded a save this year, so it's certainly safe to say that Lopez is the guy you want to roster for saves in the Baltimore pen for now. |

Wed Apr 20 2022 | 22:11 | Jorge Lopez Notches Second Save In Wednesday's Win |
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Jorge Lopez struck out three over 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Oakland Athletics. With runners on first and third, he entered the game in the eighth inning and struck out both batters he faced to preserve Baltimore's one-run lead. The 29-year-old tossed a perfect ninth frame to earn his second save of the season. Lopez owns a 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and nine strikeouts over seven innings in 2022. The Orioles right-hander is Baltimore's primary closer and should be rostered in all league formats. |

Mon Apr 11 2022 | 21:47 | Jorge Lopez Gets The Save On Monday |
Baltimore Orioles right-hander Jorge Lopez threw a scoreless ninth inning to save a 2-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Lopez walked one and notched one strikeout in the frame. The save was Baltimore's first of the season and it lends a slight amount of clarity to the team's ninth-inning plans. Lopez, Dillon Tate, and Paul Fry were projected to form a closer committee for the team but it is notable that Tate got two outs in the seventh inning and Fry did not pitch. For now, fantasy gamers desperate for saves can pick up Lopez but don't expect the Orioles to provide him with many save opportunities. |

Fri Aug 20 2021 | 12:31 | Jorge Lopez Earns 14th Loss |
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jorge Lopez lasted only two innings Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Rays, giving up four runs on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. He took his 14th loss of the season, and he now has an ERA of 6.35 for the season. There's very little upside in fantasy for Lopez, and he should be left on the waiver wire. |

Thu Aug 19 2021 | 15:44 | Jorge Lopez Removed After Two Innings |
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jorge Lopez (undisclosed) was removed after two innings versus the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. He looked uncomfortable on the mound and allowed four earned runs before being pulled from the game. The right-hander did seem to be having possible discomfort in his shoulder. The organization is likely to give more information after the game. Lopez entered this game with a 6.14 ERA, so he can be ignored in fantasy formats whether he's injured or not. |

Mon Aug 9 2021 | 11:50 | Jorge Lopez Takes Tough No-Decision Sunday |
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jorge Lopez pitched well in Sunday's 9-6 loss to the Rays. Lopez pitched 6 innings, allowing two runs on four hits (including a solo home run) and two walks with five strikeouts. However, the bullpen ultimately could not protect the lead. Lopez has struggled overall this season, compiling a 5.75 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 20.2% strikeout rate over 23 starts. His next start will be a tough one at the Red Sox, but Lopez should be avoided in all fantasy formats regardless of matchup. |

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jorge Lopez turned in a stellar start in Monday's 7-1 win over the Yankees. Lopez took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a leadoff double and finished with 6 innings pitched, one run allowed on a hit and five walks with four strikeouts. The 28-year-old is now 3-12 with a 5.91 ERA over 22 starts this season. Needless to say, fantasy managers should steer clear of Lopez, despite his solid start today. |

Thu Jun 29 2017 | 17:44 | Brewers place Anderson (oblique) on disabled list |

Junior Guerra sustained a calf injury while trying to bunt in the season opener.Anderson has a 6-2 record with a 2.89 ERA this season. He has 85 strikeouts and just 27 walks in his 16 starts.Right-handed pitcher Jorge Lopez was called up from Double-A Biloxi to fill Anderson's roster spot.Lopez has a 3-6 record with a 5.04 ERA in 13 starts with Biloxi this season. |

Lopez earned the win in his first major league start Tuesday against the Padres as he allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven. |
Lopez was a strikeout artist in the minors, as he struck out 137 batters in 143.1 innings at Double-A Biloxi this year before his call-up. He rode those strikeouts to a 2.26 ERA, and 11 swinging strikes in his first major league starts is a good sign it can translate. He also induced seven ground balls, and just two of the eight hits he allowed were extra-base hits, a recipe for a successful debut. |

Lopez will make his major league debut Tuesday against the Padres. |
Milwaukee has been in evaluation mode for a while, and Lopez will get a look Tuesday in a pretty favorable matchup at Petco Park. The 22-year-old right-hander turned in a 2.26 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 137:52 K:BB in 143.1 innings with Double-A Biloxi this season, but was not among the team's first few waves of September callups. |

Lopez was called up from Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday. |
The reigning Southern League's Most Outstanding Pitcher will make his first appearance in the majors, joining the Brewers in a massive, six-player call-up on Tuesday. While Lopez's Double-A numbers were nothing short of impressive (2.26 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 137:52 K:BB in 143.1 innings) it's unlikely he will pitch much with Milwaukee this season with the year winding to a close. Still, his stock has sky-rocketed as of late and he could be in the starting rotation as early as 2016, making him an interesting fantasy candidate in all formats moving forward. |

Lopez, 22, was named the Southern League's Most Outstanding Pitcher on Thursday. He has a 2.29 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 134 strikeouts through 137.2 innings with Double-A Biloxi. |
Lopez was certainly on the radar as one of the better pitchers in the Brewers' system entering the season, but he has exceeded all reasonable expectations. It now seems quite possible that the 6-foot-4 righty will join the Brewers' rotation at some point in 2016, meaning he should be on the radar of single-season and dynasty owners alike. |

Lopez, 22, has a 2.58 ERA and 86:35 K:BB ratio in 90.2 innings for Double-A Biloxi. |
Lopez is having a breakout season, as he has been effective in keeping the ball down to the tune of a 1.55 GO:AO ratio. |
Mon May 11 2015 | 11:21 | Lopez 3-2 with 2.70 ERA and 27:14 K:BB ratio in 30 innings over ... |
Lopez is 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA and 27:14 K:BB ratio in 30 innings over six starts with Double-A Biloxi. |
Lopez's walk numbers aren't pretty, but six of those came in three innings in his first start of the season, and he walked just one batter over his last 12 innings. He has been brilliant otherwise, limiting opposing hitters to just 21 hits, a .194 batting average, and one home run -- which also came in his first start. The Brewers don't have much in terms of starting pitching options at the Triple-A level, so Lopez could garner consideration if the team needs to bring up a starter from the minors. |
